KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas gently set Namine down on the chair, his arms sliding out from underneath her legs and back as he met her eyes. He offered her a small smile in reassurance, seeing the nerves in her eyes.

 

Namine bit her lip lightly as she gazed at Roxas, knowing that he was trying to help reassure her that it would be alright with that simple smile. A weak smile spread on her lips as she gazed back at Roxas, the girl folding her hands in her lap.

 

Roxas looked at Namine for a second longer before standing up straight and then starting toward the desk in the room. He approached the woman at the desk. "Excuse me," he started politely, and then he started explaining to the woman about Namine's condition, leaving out the part about the alley, not sure if he should tell that part of the story or not.

 

Namine lowered her head slightly as she folded her hands in her lap, the girl fiddling with them slightly in nervousness.

 

After his explanation, Roxas listened to the woman's response. He nodded at her words, accepting them. "Great. Thanks," he said before walking away. He walked over to Namine, sitting down in a seat beside her to tell her what was going on.

 

Namine noticed the boy that had sat beside her and she stopped fiddling with her hands. She raised her head and turned it slightly to face Roxas.

 

"The receptionist said that it'll only be a few minutes," Roxas informed the girl, his eyes on hers. "We won't have to wait that long." He would wait patiently with Namine for the nurse to get them when it was their time to go.

 

Namine nodded faintly, her eyes staying connected with Roxas'. She was glad that they wouldn't have to wait long; this place made her very uneasy.

 

Roxas glanced down at one of Namine's hands, having seen the uneasiness in her eyes. He reached for one of her hands, holding it in his before looking back up at her. "Don't worry; everything will be fine," he told her. "I promise."

 

Namine smiled faintly at Roxas' kind words, her eyes flitting down for a moment. She turned her hand and flipped it over slightly so she could Roxas' hand better. She gently squeezed it before looking back up at him, thankful that he was there.

 

The corners of Roxas' mouth curved up slightly. He held Namine's hand securely in his as he looked into her eyes, hoping for the best and hoping to avoid the worst.

 

Namine kept her gaze on Roxas' ocean-blue eyes, not turning away for even a second. She could see some nervousness in his eyes as well, but his support was the most obvious, and it comforted her that he was being brave. If he could be brave, then she could too.

 

Roxas let his thumb travel lightly over Namine's skin as he kept his eyes locked with hers. He would be there with her every step of the way, providing as much comfort as he could. He didn't want her going through this alone.

 

Namine felt chills for a moment before they faded, Roxas' light touch causing that feeling. It was very gentle and soothing, and she was sure her eyes showed her appreciation.

 

Roxas' eyes stayed with Namine's, his smile still there. He glanced down at their hands, watching his thumb for a moment as it traveled over her skin lightly.

 

Namine exhaled softly through her nose, her eyes staying on Roxas even though he had looked away.

 

Roxas inhaled a silent breath and then slowly released it, his smile fading as he started thinking. How serious would Namine's condition appear to the doctor? He imagined it wouldn't be good, but at least they were here, seeking professional help...right?

 

Namine bit her lip lightly and then flitted her eyes away, her gaze falling to the floor. Despite the comfort that Roxas was giving her, she was still nervous. She just wished that this would all end soon, anticipation making her more tense.

 

Before Roxas could finish sorting through his thoughts, a polite voice came from next to him, someone tapping him on the shoulder. He turned his head, his eyes falling on a brunette, guessing she was a nurse.

"The doctor will see you now," she said politely, a small smile on her face.

 

Namine looked up at the nurse for a second before letting her eyes fall again, the light-blue orbs falling on the hand that Roxas held.
