KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas gave Namine's hand a gentle squeeze in reassurance. Not only for her, but for himself. He had to admit it--he was scared; he was scared for Namine's safety and health, and for the future. What if more moments like the last few came up again? What would happen then? Would the tragedies bend him and Namine until they broke? Or would they stick together and be strong? There were too many questions, and not enough answers.

 

Namine lightly squeezed Roxas' hand in response, her eyes opening partway and gazing at the wall in front of her. Some of her blonde hair was in her bangs, but she made no move to correct that, not really caring how she looked at the moment.

 

Roxas shifted his gaze to Namine's hand in his, his eyes following his thumb as it moved over her skin. All of the questions that were unanswered, he knew they would be in the future, as much as it scared him not to know ahead of time. But he had to focus on the present, and now. Namine was his main priority at this point, and he needed to help her before worrying about any of his thoughts. Her life was too dear to him.

 

Namine blinked softly, just gazing tiredly in front of her. It wasn't only the physical tiredness that bothered her, but also the emotion stress, which seemed to escalate overnight. It felt that way, at least.

 

Roxas decided that one question that kept coming up in his mind could be answered if it was spoken, and only Namine could truly answer it. He hated to break the silence, even if it wasn't that peaceful. "How're you feeling?" he asked, his voice very soft and caring as he looked down on Namine.

 

"Not good," Namine answered quietly, honest though not very detailed. She felt pretty terrible, but she wouldn't say anything else unless Roxas pushed the topic a little more. She didn't mind opening up to him; she loved him dearly, and she trusted him with all her heart. But she didn't want to give him any unwanted burdens. Her soft blue eyes flitted up to Roxas, her eyes finding his.

 

Roxas' eyes met Namine's when she looked up, and he could see that what she said was true in her eyes. "Emotionally...or physically?" he asked quietly, silently wondering whether a visit to the doctor was the best thing or not.

 

"Both," Namine answered softly, her gaze staying connected with Roxas. She knew that he was asking because he was worried about her; she could clearly see it in his ocean-blue eyes. She didn't need to search his eyes for that feeling, since that emotion was at the surface of everything.

 

Roxas didn't reply; he only inhaled a breath through his nose as he looked back at Namine. Her answer had only proved his suspicions, especially the one dealing with physical discomfort. He knew that she was referring to her stomach pains, and Roxas figured that a visit to the doctor was a must-have. He hated going back to the hospital, and he was sure that Namine did too, but it was for her own safety, and that mattered most to him.

 

Namine kept her light gaze on Roxas, knowing that he was thinking now because of her response. She remembered the statement he had told her last night, saying that he would take her to the doctor. She was surprised that she had forgotten about it, but now that the topic was back in her head, she knew that was the subject Roxas was thinking about as well.

 

"...Maybe you should go see the doctor," Roxas suggested softly, knowing that concern was obvious in his blue eyes as he looked down at Namine. He said last night he would take her himself, and he would keep his word.

 

Namine couldn't find any words to respond, so she softly nod her head one time, her sad blue eyes still gazing up into Roxas' gentle blue orbs. Her eyes held fear, showing the blond girl's hesitation. What if something was seriously wrong...? Then what would happen?

 

Roxas detected the fear in Namine's light blue eyes and he stopped stroking her hand and held it tighter in his. She would be okay, he knew that in his heart. "I'll take you..." he informed her quietly, his concerned blue eyes looking into hers.

 

Namine blinked softly at the simple words, taking a minute to digest them. If Roxas was with her, then things would go better. She wanted him to stay by her side as long as possible, through anything and everything. And she trust that he would, his love for her running as deep as her love for him. "Okay," she responded quietly, her eyes staying connected with Roxas'.

 

Roxas' lips curved up slightly, his eyes staying connected with hers as he nodded once a little. If she couldn't stand on her own still, maybe the doctor wouldn't mind Roxas carrying her into the office... It didn't matter, because Roxas was going to do what was necessary to make sure Namine was better.

 

"Thanks," Namine said quietly, her voice almost a whisper as she gazed up at Roxas. He was taking such good care of her. That simple thank you was the least she could do; when she got better, she would repay him for this. Somehow.

 

"Of course," Roxas replied softly, giving her hand a slight squeeze. He loved Namine with all he had and he enjoyed being with her, even if it was under these circumstances. She should never think of herself as a burden, because she truly wasn't. She was something much more; she was a blessing.

 

Namine felt herself smile faintly at the gentle words, seeing Roxas' love and care in his eyes. Those emotions were always there, of course, but they were pretty clear now.

 

Roxas tore his eyes away from Namine's gaze as he looked down at their hands, moving his left arm slightly and switching her hand from his right hand to his left hand. He held it protectively in his grasp before he looked back into her eyes. "Let's go," he said quietly.

 

Namine's smile vanished as she gazed down at their hands, seeing Roxas protectively hold her hand in his. "I don't know if I can walk," Namine stated softly as she brought her head off of Roxas' shoulder, her eyes wandering back up to Roxas' after a moment.
