KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

"Mmm," The soft hum left his lips as he shifted his gaze to her arms, that fact not really surprising him. She had been with them for...too long; it was understandable that she would be a little sore today after the events that had happened. Sora lifted his eyes back up to Kairi, accepting her answer. "But you're still bothered by everything that happened," he started tenderly, his gentle gaze staying on her eyes. "I can see it in your eyes."

 

Kairi pressed her lips together as she nodded sadly, bringing truth to that statement. "I guess that's not very surprising..." she said softly. She knew that something like what she and Sora experienced wouldn't not affect them in some way; it was upsetting to think of, and hard to deal with.

 

"...And it's not just that," Sora continued, his voice a little softer than before. "I could hear the emotions in your in voice yesterday...both audibly and during the other times we spoke." He was referring to the conversations they had in their hearts...when they had been seperated. He remembered the sadness, terror, and sorrow he had heard in her voice, mainly at the moment she was first taken away from him.

 

Kairi shut her eyes at the memory, nodding. The cry that left her lips when she saw Sora at his door...That had to be the strongest show of emotion she made that day, in her voice at least. And it wasn't just one emotion, but many; fear, sorrow, pain... Kairi opened her eyes to meet Sora's again once that image faded.

 

Sora's eyes softened at the sadness in Kairi's eyes, knowing that he had brought up a touchy subject. He gently moved his right hand out of Kairi's and lightly set it against her cheek, his soft blue eyes gazing into hers. "I'm sorry I can't just make the pain disapear," Sora whispered softly, slowly blinking his eyes before looking into Kairi's eyes again.

 

Kairi looked into Sora's eyes. "Maybe not completely...but you're lifting it," she said, whispering as well. She brought up her left hand and put it against his on her cheek, thankful that he wasn't touching close to her mark.

 

Sora exhaled softly and leaned forward a little, his forehead lightly touching hers. "I'm glad," he said softly, his voice still a whisper. He didn't want to see her upset at all, but he was thankful that he could at least help...even if just a tiny bit.

 

Kairi closed her eyes for a second, letting Sora's words hang in the air for a moment. She opened her eyes, her violet-blue orbs gazing into his ocean-blue as she inhaled softly. As long as Kairi was with him, she was sure the pain would disappear faster than it would if she was on her own.

 

Underneath her hand, Sora started to lightly stroke Kairi's cheek with his thumb. His soft blue eyes stayed locked on hers, the air feeling a little lighter than it had a moment ago.

 

Kairi released her breath softly through her nose, feeling comforted by his gesture. She didn't know who else she could turn to if Sora wasn't here with her. It seemed impossible to even imagine a world without him, though she did use to live without him before she even knew him when she was little. But that wasn't the point. Sora was with her now, and that was all that mattered. And Kairi loved him too much to let him go.

 

Sora inhaled softly and then released the breath, his eyes flitting shut at the peacefulness of the moment.

 

Kairi inhaled again silently, keeping her eyes on Sora even though his were closed. She understood that he loved her and wanted to take her pain away, because she wanted to do the same exact thing for him. Sure, he couldn't get rid of the physical injuries she had, though she had the slap from Scott coming to her after she screamed in his face and then spit on him...But then again, she was just defending herself the best way she could under those circumstances. What was so bad about that? Did she deserve to get slapped for it?

 

Keeping his eyes shut, Sora leaned his head forward slightly, his lips connecting with Kairi's for a brief moment. He kissed her lightly before returning to his previous position, his thumb stroking her cheek again. He couldn't specifically explain why he had kissed her at that exact moment; it just felt as if she needed some reassurance. She hadn't done anything to deserve the pain that she felt, and he wanted to take away that feeling from her...if she even had it. He wasn't sure at the moment what she was thinking.

 

Having closed her eyes at the gentle kiss, Kairi kept them closed when Sora pulled away. He had said before that she didn't deserve it, and his kiss had only made his words clearer in her mind. She didn't deserve any of that treatment; none of it.

 

Sora exhaled softly through his nose, lightly running his thumb over Kairi's cheek. He was just so thankful that she was here, with him. He could take care of her now, and he would try to take all her pain away. Maybe that was an impossible task, but he would try anyway, because he loved her so much.

 

Kairi kept her eyes shut, her head against Sora's as his finger traveled over her skin. The gesture was comforting, and reassuring. But she pressed her lips together when he lightly ran over the edge of her injury on her cheek. A small stinging sensation came from it, but she tried to ignore it, wanting Sora's love and care more than anything else.

 

Sora felt Kairi tense up slightly and he gently slid his hand out from underneath Kairi's, his eyes staying shut. He slowly moved his hand and set it on the back of her head, lightly running it over her red hair now.

 

Kairi greatly appreciated Sora's gentleness, feeling her emotions lift slightly as her hand went back down to her lap.

 

Sora kept his eyes shut for another moment before letting them flicker open again, revealing his soft ocean-blue orbs again. He lifted up his hand again and ran it over Kairi's hair again, continuing the gentle gesture.

 

Kairi exhaled softly through her nose, feeling chills at his touch, but warmth inside her heart. "Thank you," she whispered, Sora's comfort and love feeling wonderful.
