KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Sora gently pulled his hand back, seeing Kairi close her eyes. He figured that it was either in pain or comfort, but he figured it was probably pain, since she herself had winced when she touched it. Looking at it now, it didn't look too bad, only as if it had been painful. Sora felt another wave of anger, and he shut his eyes to try and hide that emotions. How dare they?! How could they have hurt her like that? Don't they know who she is? She's the girl that I love with all his heart, and I had swore that I would never let anyone hurt her. But those evil men had forced him to break that promise but taking her away, and that thought infuriated him. The teen sucked in a breath, quickly trying to calm himself down. Anger wasn't going to do him any good now...was it? He had already taken care of whoever had hit her, he was sure of that.

 

As the small pain faded, Kairi opened her eyes to meet Sora's, only to find them closed. She hoped he wasn't blaming himself for her injury; Scott had been too rough with her, even if she had been valuable to them, and that wasn't Sora's fault.

 

Sora exhaled through his nose, the anger starting to fade. Anger only ate away at a person...until it was the only thing they felt. He didn't want that to happen to him, because that would mean losing his love for Kairi. And he would never do that; she was far too dear to him. Nothing would ever happen to her again...not as long as he had a say in it.

 

Kairi bit her lip and lifted her hand to Sora's cheek, lightly setting it against his skin. She could feel tension, not only in herself, but in him as well. And she didn't want him to feel bad for something he couldn't help.

 

Sora opened his eyes at the light touch, his gaze falling on the hand that now rested on his cheek. His eyes wandered from the hand down the arm, and then to the face of the girl he loved. It didn't matter to him if she had a mark on her face; she was still perfect in his eyes. He lift up his left hand and set it on the one that rest on his cheek, a soft breath escaping his lips as his eyes shut for a moment.

 

Kairi nibbled on her lip as she gazed at Sora's face, hating that guard more than she thought. She knew the mark would heal and disappear in a day or two, but still...

 

Sora's eyes slowly flickered open again, falling on their hands together. Even underneath his, he saw something on Kairi's hand. No...it was more like her wrist. What....? The brunette gently shifted his hand and wrapped it around Kairi's, moving it off of his cheek slightly so he could get a better look at it.

 

Kairi blinked, her eyes following his gaze as Sora lifted her hand. Her eyes found her hand...and then her wrist.

 

Sora gently brought his right arm to the hand, letting go of the embrace he had on Kairi. He held her hand in his left hand, and his right hand instinctively went to her wrist. He lightly ran over it with two fingers, seeing that some bruising had formed. It was undoubtadly from the restraints she had tied around her for a while yesterday...and seeing the injuries made Sora sad. Was there any way he could have prevented it? Was there any way he could have saved Kairi from these injuries? Or the memories that surely haunted her?

 

Kairi glanced at her wrist, turning her head away as Sora ran his fingers over the bruises. It didn't hurt when he went over them lightly like that, just when she twisted them the wrong way or put too much pressure on them. She looked at her lap, seeing her other hand. She bit her lip and looked across Sora slightly, and at the floor.

 

Sora continued the gesture gently and shut his eyes for a brief moment, inhaling as he started to think again. The only comforting part of all this was that the men who had injured her were gone...forever. They would never be able to touch her again. And even if they were alive, Sora wouldn't let them near her anyway. Next time, he would watch over her more closely. Maybe then wounds like this wouldn't occur. It was true that none of the injuries he had seen were too serious, but seeing them made him feel like he had failed her in some way...unable to protect her in her time of need.

 

Kairi nibbled on her lip as she saw Sora's fingers move over her wrist out of the corner of her eye. The aura in the room changed and she felt...what exactly? Tension was definitely there, as well as sadness, and anger...all of the emotions she was feeling, so she assumed they were all coming from her. But there was one she couldn't put her finger on...one that wasn't coming from her. Kairi flitted her eyes to Sora, biting her lip a little more when she saw his expression.

 

The one feeling that Sora felt the strongest in his heart (other than sadness) was regret. Regret that he couldn't protect Kairi fully and completely. Regret that he couldn't somehow stop all this from happening. Regret that he couldn't take away any of the tension that had filled the room again. But wait...it wasn't the same as last time, was it? No, this time, a portion of it came from him. And now he felt regret that he was partly responsible for the heavy aura that surrounded them. Without opening his eyes, he set his right hand back in his lap. Then, without any thought or hesitation, he gently raised Kairi's hand to his lips, planting a light kiss on her skin.

OOC: I gotta go for tonight, maybe I'll be on tomorrow. Not quite sure yet. I'll try to message you sometime tomorrow to let you know what's going on with me if I can.

Kairi exhaled softly through her nose at the gesture, feeling chills at Sora's kiss. The odd feeling she couldn't quite figure out in the room grew a little, and she knew then it was coming from Sora, whatever it was. But Kairi knew he shouldn't be beating himself up, if that's what he was doing. She suddenly felt the need to comfort him the way he had her, though she still wasn't feeling that great either. Guessing that feeling was mutual, she figured that comforting eachother was the best solution to the problem, even though the problem hadn't actually been spoken about yet.

OOC: Okay. There's a possibility I won't be on either, though, so if we don't see each other, see you Thursday! =)

 

Sora opened his eyes partway as he gently backed off, his gaze staying on their hands. He gently ran a thumb over the back of her hand, hoping that Kairi couldn't sense that extra weight that had been added to the room. He had a feeling she could though; they often felt the same emotions. Still though, he would push aside his thoughts and focus on her. It was what he had to do to redeem himself. At least...that's how he saw it.

 

Kairi sat in the silence for a moment, biting her lip slightly as she followed Sora's thumb along her skin. She could sense the shame in Sora, though he had no reason to be ashamed. He saved her, and he succeeded. Wasn't that enough? Or was he blaming himself for her injuries?

 

Sora exhaled softly, his eyes staying on their hands. He had to admit...the silence was a bit unnerving, and he knew that he had accidently added some of that stress to that room. Well, it wasn't too late to make things right. He had calmed Kairi down earlier by putting her first, and now he was doing it again, hoping to set things right.

 

Kairi closed her eyes in thought, the added comfort from Sora's gentle stroking letting her close her eyes as well. If Sora hadn't backed down when the men wanted to take her away, Kairi would be dead; simple as that. He saved her life more than once yesterday, rescuing her from those thugs and defeating them all for her safety, as well as his own. But still, he put her first and protected her. So...why was there this extra stress in the room, the aura heavier than before? Kairi could feel the sense of guilt, and she didn't know why it was there.

 

Sora flitted his eyes open completely, his gaze falling on the girl in front of him. He saw a thoughtful expression on her face and he bit his lip slightly, wondering what was going through her head.

 

Kairi exhaled softly, her thoughts coming to an end. She felt someone's gaze on her as she opened her violet-blue eyes, only to meet the ocean-blue next to her.
