KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Sora clapsed his hands together again, setting them in his lap. He couldn't think of anything to do now but wait out the silence, no matter how long that took. He wasn't patient in circumstances where he was confused, but it was different this time, since this was Kairi he was with. He'd just have to be patient.

 

Kairi felt tears well behind her closed eyes as the harsh memory continued.

"Some prince he was for you, Princess Kairi." Scott leaned a little closer to the redhead, and Kairi disliked the lack of space between them. "That naive Keyblader. A real Keyblade Master would've fought for his love."

The tears started to come in sadness and fury at the man's words, both in Kairi's memory and at that moment.

"Stop it!" she tried to cry. "You have no idea what he went through! Leave him alone! Leave me alone! Just go away!" However, it had been no use, the screams only being murmers behind the silver tape. Kairi watched as Scott's expression changed, his sarcastic apology ringing through her ears as he reached toward her face. Instinctively, Kairi turned away, but he grabbed the tape and peeled it off just enough for her to scream at the top of her lungs. "GET AWAY FROM ME, YOU CREEP!" The girl then spit in the man's face, causing him to backpedal slightly away from her on the ground. Scott then wiped away her spit, before meeting her glare with infuriated eyes that dominated her own. Kairi's eyes followed his hand as it went back, and her head turned to the side from the force of the blow dealt to her face.

Kairi opened her watery eyes, staring out in front of her as she brought a hand automatically to her left cheek, feeling the slight sting from where the man had hit her.

 

Sora exhaled softly, and he couldn't take the silence any longer. He had to at least look over...to try and read her expression one more time. Maybe this time, he could pull something out of it and figure out what was going on inside her head. The teen turned his head toward her, and he immediatly noticed that she had a hand to her face...over the mark that he had seen earlier. And if he wasn't mistaken, her eyes were a bit watery as well. It was hard to tell from his side view of her face. "Kairi..." Sora spoke her name softly without thought, his concerned blue eyes gazing at the redhead.

 

The voice snapped Kairi out of her terrible memory, the redhead turning her gaze to the boy beside her, her hand still on her cheek. She immediately saw the concern in his eyes, which made her feel guilty. But it was her fault that he was worried, and she knew that. It was just that she didn't want to be like this, and unfortunately for her...and probably Sora too...she couldn't really help it. Kairi was just so shaken up from the events yesterday had brought, what her Princess of Heart title had brought...

 

Sora's eyes softened when he looked Kairi head on, seeing the moisture in her eyes. He couldn't stand to see her so shaken up, so he did what was most logical to him. Unclapsing his hands, he brought up his left hand, setting it lightly on Kairi's other cheek. He stroked it lightly with his thumb, his gentle gaze staying on her violet-blue orbs.

 

Kairi closed her watery eyes at his touch, taking in a shaky breath as she felt the built up tears leave her eyes. One tear traveled down her wet cheek, hitting her fingertip.

 

Sora bit his lip lightly, seeing that one tear leave her eye. It broke his heart to see her so sad, especially when he felt helpless to make things better. He gazed at her in silence for a moment before lifting up his right arm and lightly wrapping it around her shoulders.

 

Kairi leaned into Sora, letting her hand leave her cheek as she buried her head in his shoulder, crying softly as the tears flowed from the overwhelming affects of the day before. She was still so shaken up about it; all of the things she had seen and all the noises and cries she had heard.

 

Sora's heart broke at the sound of her sobs, feeling her tears soak into his shirt. He pulled Kairi a little closer to him, feeling protective over her. Without thought, he moved his left hand away from her right cheek and to the back of her head. He started to lightly run over her hair with his hand, his ocean-blue eyes falling on the redhead in his arms again.

 

Kairi moved her right hand to Sora's chest as her cries continued, the biggest of her emotions inside spilling out. She had thought the Heartless were scary...and Dark Kairi, too. But she had been wrong; being taken away from Sora was one of the worst things that could ever happen to her.

 

Sora gently shushed her, his left hand moving as he lightly rubbed over her arm. The crying had grown in intensity, and though he didn't completely understand what she was thinking, he was sure his sorrow was matching hers. Or at least, it was close.

 

Kairi shoulders shook a little as she drew in a breath, sobbing as she let it back out. Her red hair hid her face as it was buried in Sora's shoulder. She felt so bad crying like this into his shoulder, putting all of this on him. It didn't seem fair.

 

"It's alright," Sora breathed softly, feeling Kairi's tears to continue to soak through his shirt. He pulled her a little closer, wanting to take away all her pain and sorrow.

 

Kairi turned her head out of Sora's shoulder, taking in another shaky breath through her mouth. Her tears were like rivers running down her face, continuing to flow, her helpless to stop them. Everything had just gotten so bad all of a sudden, springing on her and her dearest friends. Kairi gazed at her hand next to her face on Sora's chest with half-opened, watery eyes, a soft trembling sob leaving her lips.

 

Sora felt his heart break at that one sob, his blue eyes widening slightly in sadness. He could see the sorrow in her violet-blue eyes, and it made him want to cry, seeing her so upset. He moved his left hand off of Kairi's arm and brought it to her cheek, lightly wiping away a few of the tears. "I'm here," he said softly, his eyes not leaving hers. "I'm not going anywhere. I'm staying with you." He spoke the words quietly, but the sentences were also spoken in a serious but loving tone.

 

Kairi closed her eyes for a second at Sora's words, all of them touching her heart as a tear left her eye. She opened her eyes again and nodded slightly as she took in a breath, not able to say anything among her sobs. Kairi believed him with all her heart; he was here with her, and she was with him. Sora fought for her, and won the battle, winning her back in the process. But he had never lost her in the first place; he always had a place in her heart.

 

"I love you," Sora told her quietly, his hand moving up slightly and running over her hair. "I promise you...whatever is wrong, I'll make it go away. Everything's going to be alright." The words came out a little more loudly than before, the teen knowing that Kairi was listening to his every word.

 

Kairi took in a breath, trying to calm herself down. "I love you too," she said with a soft, trembling voice due to her sobs. She believed every word that Sora spoke, knowing they were coming from his heart.

 

Sora slowly let his eyes flicker shut before leaning down and planting a light kiss on top of Kairi's red hair.

 

Kairi closed her eyes at the gesture, letting her hand continue to rest on Sora's chest. His support was comforting her, her sobs softening slowly and her tears not leaving as fast.
