KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Namine smiled softly at Roxas as he left, seeing the exhaustion in his movements. Well, at least now he could get a good night's rest. Hopefully, anyway. Namine shook her head slightly at the negative thought, her eyes turning toward the television. She tried to get into the show that was on, knowing that she would be awake for a while now, since she had gotten a lot of rest earlier.

 

Roxas left the room and started up the stairs, reaching the upper level of the house before turning to go to his room. He felt his feet dragging slightly as he rubbed at his eyes, exhaustion taking over. He approached his door and pushed it open a little more than it already had been, the blond walking over to his bed. Roxas sighed tiredly as he met the matress and immediately covered himself up, his head on the pillow.

 

Namine blinked softly, a soft breath leaving her lips as she laid still on the couch. She had no idea how much longer she would be awake, but at that moment, she didn't feel tired at all. She almost wished she hadn't slept earlier, but then she retracted that thought. Sleep was a necessity then; if she hadn't gotten rest, she would feel even worse now.

 

Roxas sighed softly, feeling himself drifting. It didn't surprise him, really, because he wanted it. But he also didn't, feeling bad for leaving Namine by herself. However, Roxas figured that the girl needed her space some time or another...right? The thoughts suddenly slipped from the boy's mind as he slowly started going under, his eyelids staying shut and his concious leaving him.

 

Namine bit her lip lightly, shifting uncomfortably on the couch. It wasn't because the sofa was uncomfortable, but because she had been lying still for a while. The pain in her stomach was still there, so strong that she didn't dare try to move any more than that tiny bit. She sighed softly, her eyes falling away from the television. She didn't want to think about that, so she wouldn't. The blond girl pushed away the thoughts, making them vanish as if they had never been there at all.

Sora had been awake a few minutes now, though groggy from his slumber. The boy laid on his side on the loveseat, his eyes blinking several times as he grew accustomed to the lighting. What? Why was it so dark? The teen pushed himself into an upright position, his blanket still covering him slightly. He turned to face the window, and he saw that the sky was dark, though it had a little bit of light still. It was nighttime? He must have slept through the whole day...

 

Kairi exhaled softly, rolling over in the bed as her sleep reached its limit. She felt very well rested, from what she could tell already as she woke up. The girl opened her violet-blue eyes, inhaling through her nose as she stared at the wall in front of her. It was...dark? Kairi looked up at the window, her eyes opened fully now. She blinked, not really understanding how it could be so dark out... Was it morning of the same day...or had she slept through the whole day?

 

Sora exhaled softly and pushed himself off the seat, stretching. That was a pretty uncomfortable way to sleep for so long, not having enough leg room to really spread out. But despite that...he still felt well rested. How could he not, since he had slept through the whole day? He smiled faintly at the humor of it, bringing a hand to the back of his head and running it over his spiky hair.

 

Kairi turned her head to look at Sora's alarm clock on his end table next to the bed; 8:23 PM? Kairi sighed and brought her hands to her face, rubbing her eyes before running a hand through her hair. How could she have slept through the whole day anyway? Wait...The memories started coming back now, and then she wasn't very surprised anymore. Of course...She had been so exhausted from all of the action...her kidnapping... Kairi shuddered at the thought of it, hating to think back to the last 24 hours.

 

Sora shut his eyes briefly, his head falling slightly in thought. The sleep had calmed him, but it felt as if something was haunting the back of his mind. What was it...? It only took a second for the memories to return to him, and his recollection of the nightmares he had during his slumber. The events of the previous day had occured many times in his mind, appearing to him as nightmards during the night. Sora shook his head slightly, not wanting those thoughts again. It was horrible enough to go through it one time...he didn't need to keep repeating it in his mind over and over again.

 

Kairi's eyes flitted toward the door, and she knew then that she wanted to get up and see him. Sora. She hadn't actually had a comfortable moment with him since the kidnapping, which was understandable, since every single one of them had been exhausted after everything... Kairi sighed, throwing the covers away from her legs as she turned and placed her feet on the floor.

 

Sora opened his eyes, his bright blue orbs falling on the doorway to the kitchen. As if on cue, his stomach rumbled, reminding him that he hadn't eaten anything for a while. He lowered his hand to his side and started walking toward the kitchen. He had no idea what time it was, so he didn't know what meal he would be having; breakfast, lunch, or dinner. He was guessing it would be the latter, since it was dark out, after all. The teen suddenly stopped walking, noticing that the couch was empty. A look of confusion appeared on his face, and he wondered where Roxas was.

 

Kairi pushed herself up and stretched, lifting her hands up to the ceiling. But she immediately brought her arms back down when they shot out in pain. She winced and froze, not moving as the pain began to subside. What? Why would...? She stopped as the pain throbbed through her arms, and she closed her eyes as it faded away slowly. Why would her arms being hurting? As if on cue, the memory of her having her arms tied behind her from the moment she left Sora's house to the warehouse when they were around that pole came to mind. No wonder they were hurting; they had been stuck like that for quite a while.

 

Sora shruggled slightly, letting the thought leave him. Wherever he was, Sora was sure Roxas was fine. The brunette started walking again, and then headed into the kitchen to find something to eat.

 

Kairi opened her eyes, looking around the dimly lit room as the pain finally subsided from her arms. She decided that she would have to be careful not to move them too fast or bring them up too high, or else she'd hurt herself again. Kairi started walking toward the door, going to use the bathroom.

 

Sora bit his lip and stood in front of the fridge opening it to see that there was hardly any food left. He tilted his head slightly, seeing a few of the shelves empty except for leftovers that had gone bad a long time ago. He exhaled softly, seeing if there was anything edible in there.

 

After using the bathroom, Kairi looked at herself in the mirror. She felt her eyes narrow slightly at the reflection in sadness. She was a mess. Her eyes were a little puffy from all of the crying she had done while being in the thugs' grasp. Kairi turned her face a little to the right, her eyes widening slightly when she saw a mark on the side of her face. Scott. That was where he had smacked her, and now she had a mark to prove it. "Ugh." The disgusted sound left Kairi as she shook her head, facing the mirror straight again. She brought a hand to her ear, tucking a few strands of her messy red hair behind her ear. But she stopped, seeing...scars on her wrist? Was that what they were? Kairi looked down at her hand, seeing slightly purple marks around where the rope had been. She lifted up her other hand, seeing the same marks, but in slightly different places from where the ropes had been. They had been so tight that they left bruises on her wrists.

 

Sora bent down in front of the fridge and opened a drawer, relieved to see that there was stuff for sandwhiches. Meat and cheese sat in their packages, still good. He pulled both packages and then shut the drawer, and then the fridge, heading over to the counter. He set them down and then reached for the bread that sat a little bit away, pulling it closer to him. He felt a twinge of pain in his left arm, and he flitted his eyes down to it, seeing that it still looked swollen from the wound he had gotten during battle. He let out a sigh in frustration and sadness, the wound starting to sting again. He hoped he hadn't reopened the wound, not wanting blood to seep through his long sleeved gray/white shirt.

 

Kairi squeezed her eyes shut at the memories that started haunting her mind once again. Everything that had happened...all starting from the beginning, here...at Sora's. Kairi felt her heart jump in fear as she thought back to that moment, only a day ago, when she had seen Sora's panic and fear in his eyes when Carter had mentioned they needed her. For ransom, Kairi betted. But she ignored that small detail, the real problem having been how Carter and Smith had forced Sora to stand down. That was the real moment when she had gotten scared; she knew then that they couldn't win after that point. Kairi shook her head, trying to chase away the thoughts as she reached for the door handle to get out of the bathroom.
