KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Namine blinked once, her sad blue eyes staying locked with Roxas'. "I'm...afraid," she admitted softly, her voice a little shaky as she spoke that simple statement.

 

Roxas pressed his lips together at her statement, keeping his eyes locked with hers. "I know..." he said, looking into her eyes. He was afraid to hear that, but it was the truth. And Roxas knew that she hated that place as much as he did...but she had to get checked out. Her stomach injury was becoming more severe than he thought.

 

Namine shut her eyes in sadness, hearing the tone of voice that Roxas used. He understood where she was coming from, so he shared the sadness she felt. Things weren't pleasant for either of them now, and nothing could remedy the situation. Nothing at all.

 

Roxas turned his head slightly, the sky darker outside the window. He wasn't sure what time it was, but he decided that he would wait until morning to take Namine in. He turned his head back to her, biting his lip slightly. Maybe she could take some aspirin to keep the pain away for a little while...?

 

Namine exhaled softly, turning her head slightly on the pillow. Some strands of blond hair stuck to her face, her cheeks being damp from the tears she had shed earlier.

 

"You wanna take some medicine?" Roxas asked softly, reaching up with his free hand to brush away some of her blonde strands sticking to her face. It was worth a shot, and it would at least help her until the next morning.

 

Namine's eyes slowly flickered open at the question, her orbs finding Roxas gazing at her in worry. "I don't know if I'd even be able to keep that down..." Namine said softly, her voice almost a whisper.

 

Roxas's face was etched with worry and sadness at Namine's words. He didn't know what to do. She couldn't take anything, probably not being able to keep it down. Roxas could only think of her sleeping to make the pain go away, but she'd done a lot of that already.

 

Namine exhaled softly, her eyes moving slightly to avoid Roxas' eyes. It was a little overwhelming to see him worrying so much, and she felt bad that she couldn't sooth his concern at all.

 

Roxas took his arm back from around Namine's form, inhaling softly through his nose. What could be done to get rid of the sorrow and tension in the room?

 

Namine felt saddened when Roxas took back his arm, and she decided to do something about it. She gently moved her hand away from her face and moved it forward, her right hand lightly resting on his shoulder. She slowly started to run her fingers over the fabric of his shirt, tense silence smothering the room.

 

Roxas's eyes met Namine's light blue at the gesture, feeling comforted by it. But...he felt guilty; she was the one who deserved to be comforted right now.

 

Namine moved her hand slightly, bringing it closer to Roxas' neck. She let her fingers move lightly over the back of Roxas' neck, brushing a few of his blonde spikes.

 

Roxas felt chills at Namine's touch, and he closed his eyes for a second in comfort. He lifted his hand and let it rest against her arm that was up and near his shoulder, a soft breath leaving him.

 

Namine continued the soft gesture, her soft blue eyes flitting to the floor.

 

Roxas kept his eyes closed, inhaling softly in the silence. He let his fingers move along Namine's arm a little, keeping his hand in place.

 

Namine inhaled softly, her eyes shutting in weakness. She wasn't tired, so she would probably be awake a lot of the night. Of course she didn't expect Roxas to stay up with her. In fact, she was going to ask him to go get some rest soon. Just because she was a wreck didn't mean that he had to be too. At least one of them needed to be in okay shape...if that was possible.

 

Roxas continued with his gesture, hoping to comfort Namine the way she was with him. With his eyes closed, he suddenly could feel how tired he was. He had been so wrapped up in taking care of Namine that he had shoved his own feelings aside and put her first, of course. But now Roxas realized how that lack of sleep last night was catching up with him.

 

Namine's eyes opened halfway, the girl gazing at the boy in front of her. "Roxas," she started softly, her hand staying still on his neck, "you look exhausted. Why don't you go get some sleep?"

 

Roxas opened his eyes, meeting Namine's light blue. "No, I'm okay," he said, blinking a few times to get rid of the sleepiness. He didn't want to leave her by herself.
