KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas looked over at Namine, and reached for her hand. They were out of that place, but he knew that they would, or he would, be there again to visit Sora soon. They would maybe run into Kairi too, if she was feeling better. But for now he was just going to relax, and be at home for the first time in a few days.

 

Namine bit her lip and smiled faintly when she saw Roxas' hand on hers. She shut her eyes and let her head rest lightly on his shoulder.

 

Roxas smiled softly and lowered his head, kissing her blonde hair.

 

Namine's soft smile stayed on her lips when she felt Roxas' gentle kiss.

 

Roxas pulled back and held her hand in his, turning his head to the window, watching the city pass by as they got closer to his home.

 

Namine opened her eyes as she kept her head on Roxas' shoulder, her eyes gazing out the window.

 

Roxas blinked when they passed one street. His eyes widened a little bit when he saw Boston Market pass by, caution tape wrapped around the perimeter of the restaurant. He hadn't noticed how much damage they'd done at the time, and now he realized that it'd been worse than he thought. When it vanished from his sight, he blinked a few times in disbelief and then lowered his head a little as he stared at his lap.

 

Namine shut her eyes when she saw the Boston Market. She didn't want any reminders that anything was wrong, though everything around her was screaming it. Her grandfather was dead, Kairi was sick, Sora was alone, Roxas had a leg in a cast, and she was feeling sad again. Would things every go back to being okay?

 

Roxas knew that he couldn't change what happened that day, but he still wished it hadn't happened. Life would be easier for all of them if it hadn't. He sighed softly and gripped Namine's hand a little tighter as they arrived on his block.

 

Namine softly exhaled and opened her eyes a crack, recognizing the area that she saw passing by outside. They were almost to Roxas' house.

 

Roxas saw his surroundings pass at a slower pace as the cab began to slow, and they pulled up to his house.

 

Namine brought her head off of Roxas' shoulder and used her free hand to reach into her pocket for her wallet.

 

Roxas turned his head and looked at Namine sadly. He wished he had his wallet on him; he would've paid for it instead of her, which made him feel bad.

 

Namine gingerly took her hand out of Roxas, needing both hands to get the money out. She reached in and pulled out just enough and passed it up to the cab driver, a small smile on her face. The driver thanked her and Namine nodded back before putting a hand on the door handle and gently pushing it open.

 

Roxas nodded at the driver with a small smile. "Thanks," he said gratefully. He grabbed his crutches.

 

Namine pushed the door open all the way and let herself out after putting her wallet back in her pocket. She stood by the door and held it open for Roxas.

 

Roxas slid over, careful not to move his foot to quickly. He put one of his crutches outside the door and set it down before using it to support himself as he stepped out. He used his other and got out of the way of the door so the cab could leave.

 

Once Roxas was fully out and stable, Namine shut the cab door and waved softly to the cab driver before he drove away.

 

Roxas faced his house, and sighed as he looked at it. "Home sweet home," he said softly. He turned his head and gave Namine a small smile before slowly heading up the walk to the door. This was when he was thankful he didn't have a porch.

 

Namine smiled softly and followed Roxas, the plastic bag still in her grasp. She needed to pass on the messages before she forgot what they were.
