KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Namine pulled back slowly, her gaze staying on the back of Roxas' head as she returned to her previous position.

 

Roxas turned his head to the side, his hand intertwined with hers in view as his gentle blue eyes fell on her light blue orbs. His soft smile was still on his lips as he looked at her.

 

Namine's light blue eyes immediatly found Roxas' ocean blue orbs, which always attracted attention. She noticed a soft smile on his lips, and she returned his smile with a faint one of her own.

 

Roxas gazed into Namine's sky-blue eyes silently, glad to see that she seemed rested.

 

"Hi," Namine's soft voice broke through the peaceful silence, her eyes staying locked with Roxas'.

 

"Hi," Roxas replied softly. "Welcome back." He smiled sweetly at her, the smile reaching his eyes.

 

Namine felt her smile widen slightly at the look in Roxas' eyes, seeing happiness in their blue depths. "Glad to be back," she responded softly, sincere. Any time she could look into those soft blue eyes, she was happy.

 

Roxas's smile grew a little at her words. He was happy to hear that, knowing she got the needed rest after all the action earlier.

 

"You stayed the whole time, didn't you?" Namine asked quietly, her eyes gazing into his. She had a feeling that he had, but she felt like she needed to ask the question anyway.

 

"Mmhm," Roxas confirmed with a small nod, his soft smile still on his lips. After all that happened, he didn't want to leave her side.

 

Namine smiled softly at his response, her suspisions being confirmed. "I knew you were here," she said quietly. "It made me feel more comfortable."

 

"That's good," Roxas said with a small smile. "I'm glad I could help." This moment reminded him of his own waking back at Sora's. Namine had been there when he woke from his last dream, but she'd made it less painful, less intense by just being there. So he knew how she felt.

 

Namine kept a small smile on her lips, gazing at Roxas with half open eyes. She felt well rested from the two naps she had that day...though she wasn't sure if the last one was just a nap or if she had slept through the night. The room was darker now than it had been earlier, so she could only assume that it was nighttime. Still, none of that really mattered now. Not as long as she was with Roxas.

 

Roxas kept his eyes locked with hers, the girl still appearing a little groggy from her rest. He was at least glad that she had gotten away from reality for a while, escaping any pain she had...if she was still having it. He didn't want to think about that though, so he let the thoughts drop.

 

Namine was still aware that Roxas held her hand in his, and the gentle touch only continued to comfort her through the pain that she was in. Her stomach hurt almost worse than it had earlier...though it was hard to imagine that it could have been any worse. But...physical pain wasn't as bad as emotional pain, and Namine was glad that Roxas had been able to relieve that stress.

 

Roxas's eyes flickered down to their hands next to his shoulder, one of his fingers starting to stroke the back of Namine's hand again. He hadn't let go of her hand at all after she had fallen asleep, wanting her to know that even when she was dreaming that he was there.

 

Namine's tired eyes flitted over to their hands, seeing Roxas' finger moving lightly over her skin. She smiled faintly, the gentleness touching her heart. This was the Roxas that she had always known and loved, and despite the circumstances, she was glad they were together like this again.

 

Roxas's gesture continued as he started to think. After everything that happened, he hoped Sora and Kairi didn't worry about him and Namine since they practically left without a word. He hadn't talked to them all day, so he hoped they weren't too concerned about the two of them. Roxas also wondered what he could do for Namine to make up for everything--for what he had done with Smith and for earlier today. Even if the conflict today wasn't his fault, he still wanted to make up for it...

 

Namine inhaled softly through her nose, then released it, letting her eyes close again in comfort. After everything that had happened, it seemed logical that Namine would be a total wreck. And earlier, she had been, especially with that realistic flashback bringing back the horrible memories...Namine shut her eyes a little bit tighter at the thoughts, not wanting to have any rememberance of that.

 

Roxas started biting his lip again, not really noticing that he was doing it as he stared at their hands together. The sun was setting outside, and soon the television would be the only light in the room. And he was sure that if it got dark enough, considering he hadn't slept that well the night before and hadn't made up for it today, Roxas would probably fall asleep.
