KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas smiled softly at Namine as he went past her and out the door.

 

Namine returned his smile and gave Sora one last smile before following Roxas out, letting the door close behind her.

 

Roxas made his way down the hall, slower than normal because of his new equipment. The bathroom was only a few more feet away, and he could finally get out of this nightgown. He let out a breath in relief.

 

Namine's small smile stayed on her face as she lightly put one hand on Roxas' back before turning down the hall in the other direction, toward the receptionist desk.

 

Roxas glanced down at his feet as he made his way to the bathroom. The door was open, thankfully. He went inside and got into one of the stalls, the bigger one, of course, because he needed the room. He leaned one of his crutches against the wall and slid the bag off his shoulder and set it down on the back of the toilet so it was within his reach. He opened it and pulled out his clean pair of boxers and began to undress.

 

Namine arrived at the receptionist's desks and signed out Roxas. She was so relieved that he finally got to leave, but something didn't quite feel right when they were back in Sora's room. And the feeling wasn't coming from Sora...it was coming from Roxas. The blonde could only assume that Roxas felt bad about leaving Sora alone. That was probably it.

Sora stared up at the ceiling, a quiet sigh escaping his lips. He was alone now, and he definitly felt it. He felt extremely sad and lonely already, and he had just seen his friends less than five minutes ago. But of course he couldn't say anything like that to Roxas; he would worry him too much. Roxas had his own problems, and he shouldn't have to carry Sora's burdens too. That's why he had kept silent.

 

In a few minutes, and after a little awkward bit of changing when it came to getting his pants on, Roxas was dressed and making his way down the hallway to head downstairs, where Namine was waiting.

 

"Thank you," Namine told the receptionist, who had just filled her in on some details that the doctor had forgotten. The medicine would need to be taken every 7-8 hours. And as for bathing, Roxas would have to wear some special plastic bags over his cast so it didn't get wet, and the hospital was providing enough. She also had to be sure to tell him that he would need to come back in 3 weeks for an X-ray. That was about it. Namine held a plastic with the medicine and shower wraps in her right hand as she started toward the front door. When she got there, she leaned against a wall and looked down at her feet, waiting.

Sora turned his head toward the window and felt one tear slide down his cheek.

 

In a moment or two, Roxas stepped out of the elevator and started for the entrance doors. He caught the receptionist's eye and she smiled softly at him.

"Have a nice day," she said with a smile.

"Thanks. You too," he replied with a small smile of his own.

 

Namine kept her eyes at the ground, patiently waiting for Roxas.

Was he being selfish? Wanting others to be with him? Sora was totally happy for Roxas, but he didn't understand how he could feel such relief and loneliness at the same time. It really was an odd situation. He bit down on his lip as his eyes filled with tears.

 

Roxas turned his head and his eyes met the doors, and the girl beside them. His smile grew a little at the sight of Namine as he made his way to her.

 

Namine looked up at the sound of crutches against the floor and smiled softly when she saw Roxas coming toward her.

Sora tried to keep the tears inside, but he couldn't. He just felt so overwhelmed with everything that was happening. First Kairi was gone, and now Roxas and Namine were too. Was he loosing the people he was closest to? He realized that maybe he was thinking too deeply, but that didn't stop his sadness.

 

Roxas came to a stop next to her. He flashed her a grin in happiness. He was glad he could finally get some fresh air after the last few days of being in the hospital room.

 

Namine's smile widened at the sight of his. She silently leaned forward, standing upright without the support of the wall. "Ready?" She asked, knowing the answer already.

 

Roxas nodded and his smile softened into a small one as his eyes met the sunny outdoors. He saw some people walking around with coats, so it must've been chilly out. He was glad Namine had grabbed his, which he all ready had on in preparation for the weather.

 

Namine's smile softened as she nodded once before heading to the door. She pushed it open and walked outside, holding it for Roxas.

Somehow, even in his despair and sadness, Sora managed to fall asleep.

 

Roxas exited the hospital through the door with his crutches, stepping out into the fresh air. He smiled slightly as he felt the warmth of the sun shine down on him when he got a few feet away from the door that Namine had held open for him.

 

Namine let the door close shut after Roxas had gotten through and let her hands find her pockets as she gazed softly at Roxas, smiling faintly him.

 

Roxas looked up, glad to see a blue sky after the storm and cloudy skies a few days ago. It was nice to see it and the sun. He turned his head, his smile growing a little when he saw Namine, whose eyes shined in the sunlight.

 

Namine looked up toward the clear sky, a small smile staying on her lips. She was so relieved that Roxas could finally get out, but being here, out in the real world, reminded her of the sorrow that had so greatly impacted her life.
