KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

"Oh....yeah," Namine answered slowly, a little unsure herself. What just happened, and why was Roxas continuing to give her that concerned stare? What exactly was wrong with her to make Roxas have that appearance? She was faintly aware that her eyes were blurring again, though she couldn't figure out that they were more tears. The dreams that she had during her trance were so extreme that they still haunted her, even if her mind was having a hard time wrapping itself around the fact that the trance had even happened.

 

Roxas' eyebrows furrowed over his blue eyes slightly at her tone, and he could tell that she didn't seem so sure. But what was wrong? He'd seen the look on her face, and she had seemed traumitized before she had spoken.

 

Namine felt a little frightened at the silence, and at something that haunted the back of her mind. A tickle bothered her cheek and she slowly brought her right hand to her face, feeling a little bit of wetness. Tears. She was surprised, and she quickly brought up her other hand, using both of them to wipe that the tears that had started running down her face.

 

Roxas watched her silently, thoughts running through his mind. She was crying, but why? And what had she been thinking about so deeply that caused her to become...hypnotized? The look that had been in her eyes made it seem like that was the right word for it, but he couldn't quite figure out what she'd gone through a minute ago. He had to admit, it scared him a little, especially when she didn't respond.

 

Namine wiped at the tears , forcing her cheeks to dry. So...that was why Roxas was looking at her the way that he was. But, why was she even crying in the first place? How did it even start? At that moment, she thought of the answer. She had been thinking deeply, and then...well, all of her memories reappeared before her eyes. It was as if she had lived through them again, and that was what made her so upset. Yes, of course. That was what happened. Namine lowered her hands, setting them in her lap as she gazed at Roxas.

 

"Are you sure you're okay?" Roxas asked softly, his eyes gazing into hers as he stood in front of her.

 

Namine slowly brought a hand to her head, lightly pressing it against her forehead, having a small headache. Roxas' question entered her ears, and she immediatly nodded, keeping her eyes locked with his. "Yeah...I just..." Namine trailed off for a moment, trying to think of a way to say what had happened.

 

Roxas tilted his head to the side a little when she didn't finish, and he knelt down on the floor in front of her, tired of bending over. But he still wanted to look at her head on, wanting to make sure she was alright. Roxas' eyes stayed on Namine as he patiently waited for her to continue.

 

"...I just had a really realistic flashback to earlier today," Namine explained softly, lowering her hand from her head and setting it back in her lap. Her light blue eyes stayed connected with Roxas' and she continued speaking. "It was as if it were happening all over again..." Namine bit her lip slightly, not finishing that sentence either.

 

Roxas' eyes softened at her explanation. So...that's what was wrong... All of the horrific memories, she was experiencing them again. He kept his gaze on her light blue eyes, saddened to hear her admit that. She had had a very rough day, and he was sure both of them had the worst 24 hours of their life. But still, he would rather be the one suffering instead of her.

 

"...And then...all I could see was...him," Namine continued softly, a pang of fear running through her at the thought of Smith. She had never even seen his eyes, and yet he put so much fear into her heart. The blonde girl shook her head slightly, a slight tremble going through her at the mere thought of that man.

 

Roxas took in a breath at her words, knowing exactly who she was talking about. He lifted his hand, reaching for hers. Smith wasn't only haunting his thoughts either...

 

Namine flitted her eyes down to Roxas' hands when he moved, seeing his hand moving for hers. She gently lifted her hand in response, moving it forward slightly and grabbing onto his hand.

 

Roxas held Namine's hand in his, his eyes gazing at their hands for a moment. He released his breath softly, moving his thumb and stroking her hand.

 

Namine exhaled softly through her mouth, her eyes shutting partway as she gazed down at their hands. The gesture comforted her, letting her know that she wasn't alone in this.

"I know how you feel," Roxas stated softly, his gaze flitting up to her eyes. "I know that it's scary...and hard to deal with, especially after everything he did. But we'll get through it together, Namine. I promise you that." He gave her hand a gentle squeeze, his stroking having stopped while he spoke.

Namine kept her eyes on their hands for part of the time, and then flitted her eyes to Roxas', seeing concern and love in their blue depths. A promise...that was what helped her the most. Any promise that Roxas made, he would surely keep. She never doubted that, having total faith him him. "Right," she agreed softly, a very faint smile appearing on her lips.

 

Roxas' lips formed a small smile at Namine's as he kept his hand with hers. He would keep that promise; neither of them would give up on the other.

 

Namine exhaled softly, slowly let her eyes flitter to their hands. The promise did comfort her slightly, though she knew that it still wouldn't be an easy journey. Everything they had gone through...it still haunted her mind.

 

Roxas took in a breath and closed his eyes, lowering his head as he tried to relax a little in the silence. There was tension in the air, and he tried to lessen that just a little with what he had said and just trying to relax in general.
