KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Namine's eyes softened at the concern she saw in his eyes, and she decided it was time for her to say something more comforting. "It could have been worse," she said softly, knowing what Roxas was thinking. "Let it go." Her voice was soft and gentle, the blonde girl keeping her eyes locked with Roxas'.

 

Roxas kept his eyes on Namine's for a second. "Easier said than done," he said quietly, diverting his gaze from hers to the bed sheets.

 

"I know," Namine said softly, saddened by the reality of the situation. She let her eyes fall down on her right hand, immediatly noticing the darker bruises and marks from the action that had taken place earlier that day and yesterday.

 

He knew that she knew, but it was so hard to forget the fact that she was hurt. And after yesterday and today's events, she was probably affected emotionally as well. Roxas stared at the bedsheets, a little surprised at how fast the atmosphere in the room had changed. Guess we can blame it on all the action these days, Roxas mused, his eyes unfocused.

 

Namine slowly moved her left hand to her lap beside her other, a soft breath leaving her lips. They still hurt, since the jerks earlier just happened to grap right on top of the original bruising. Namine let her eyes shut, not wanting to think about that again.

 

Roxas blinked, shifting his gaze to his lap as he twined his fingers together and leaned forward, resting his elbows on his knees. He flitted his eyes to the floor, the uncomfortable silence filling the room. He was starting to reflect back on things that happened earlier today, and he figured Namine was too because of the silence.

 

Namine slowly opened her eyes again, forcing her gaze away from her wrists and to Roxas. She could tell by his posture that he wasn't happy, and she could feel the heavy atmosphere in the room. Namine exhaled softly, sucking in a breath as she moved her legs underneath the blankets. She quietly pulled way the covers and then moved over toward Roxas, sitting right behind him. It looked as if he was in need of comfort, and she would gladly provide it for him. Without thought, she hugged him from behind, her arms going over his shoulders and her hands latching together in front of Roxas.

 

Roxas closed his eyes, releasing one hand from the other and bringing it up to one of Namine's arms. He let his hand rest against her forearm, drawing in a deep breath as his eyes stayed closed.

 

Namine leaned forward slightly, letting her head rest on Roxas' shoulder. She shut her eyes slightly, trying to lift the heavy aura that had surrounded them.

 

Roxas kept his eyes closed, exhaling his deep breath softly as he rubbed Namine's arm slowly, moving his hand a little along her arm. Her gesture had interrupted his thoughts, and he could care less; he didn't want any of them back anyway.

 

Namine exhaled softly, her eyes flitting shut at Roxas' kind gesture. She only wished that she had something to say; something that would make things better. But things were rough right now, and sometimes words couldn't make problems go away.

 

Roxas opened his eyes and lowered his gaze to her hands in front of him. He noticed the bruising and shut his eyes for a second as he took in a soft breath. He opened them again as he let his hand travel down Namine's arm to her wrist, his blue eyes looking at them. He let his fingers run over her wrist carefully, afraid even the lightest touch would cause her pain.

 

Namine opened her eyes at the stinging sensation, the pain coming from her wrist. Her light blue eyes immediatly fell on her hands, seeing Roxas lightly run over the bruising with his fingers. She felt saddened that he had seen it, because she realized that now he would worry about her even more.

 

Roxas felt Namine's form stiffen just a little and he moved his fingers back up her arm casually and slowly, trying to be gentle. He kept his eyes on her wrists, though, the memories popping back up in his mind. He closed his eyes when the first one of Smith appeared, trying to force it away.

 

Namine sighed softly, turning her head and letting it rest on its side, lightly on top of Roxas' shoulder. She knew that he had purposely moved his hands away from her wrists, and she appreciated it. Her eyes flitted shut, the girl trying to relax at the gentle touch.

Roxas didn't want to think about the force Smith had put on Namine, or the strength he had used against her, or the pain he had caused her. He took in a slightly shaky breath before releasing it, focusing on the rubbing motion on Namine's arm. Hopefully concentrating on "now" would help get rid of "then."

Namine inhaled, gently turning her head again so her chin rest on top of Roxas' shoulder. She stared blankly at the wall in front of her, the memories flowing back to her mind, helpless to stop them.

 

Roxas closed his eyes, his concentration slipping as the thoughts began to take over his mind again. Things had been so hectic and crazy lately, and all within 24 hours! How could he possibly forget about them anyway?! He felt his body tense slightly at a memory, his rubbing slowing slightly on Namine's arm.

 

Namine faintly noticed a difference in Roxas, but she was too deeply lost inside her own memories to realize anything more. And then suddenly...she didn't see a plain wall in front of her. No, the scene had changed to the alleyway, and Namine was pushed against the wall. A hand was covering her mouth, and she tried to cry out, but it was muffled and couldn't have been understood. The blonde girl sucked in a shaky breath, her eyes widening slightly at the memory. It was almost as if she were reliving that moment.

 

Smith. Roxas held so much hatred for that man, even if he was...dead. His eyes stayed shut as he remembered how much Smith had ticked him off, and how irrational he had acted because of it. Roxas's emotions had gotten a hold on him and had taken control over him, and he ended up killing someone. Roxas stopped moving his hand completely, opening his eyes in realization at how bad of a thing he had done. He killed a man... Roxas had actually murdered someone, and he was only fifteen! Even if it was in self-defense of both himself and someone he loved more than anyone else in the world...
