KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Namine took a few steps back, the door right beside her now. She hesitantly reached out her left hand and turned the knob, pushing the door open behind her.

Sora instinctively moved himself in front of Kairi at the sound of nearing gunfire, staying on his knees. He turned to face her, his eyes staying on the ropes that tied her legs. Maybe he could undo it by hand...

 

Roxas growled in anger at all of these bullets. How many guards were there anyway? If there were many, he would've already been taken care of, so he knew there couldn't have been more than a few guards coming toward them. He deflected another shot.

Kairi lifted her head slightly, her saddened eyes falling on Sora. "I'm so sorry," she apologized sincerely through her heart, unable to actually speak because of the tape across her mouth.

 

Namine flitted her eyes to the front of Roxas one last time before backing into the room, her fearful eyes moving and staying on him the whole time.

Sora lifted his eyes to Kairi at the sound of the voice, knowing that it came from her heart. "Please don't say that," Sora pleaded, using his audible voice without thought. "You didn't do anything wrong." He moved his hands to the ropes gently, looking for a place where he could start untying.

 

Roxas let out an angry grunt as he wacked at one of the bullets, his reflexes too fast for the bullets to actually take damage. Knock it off already! he wanted to scream. Can't you see you haven't hit me yet?!

Kairi lowered her sad eyes to her slightly bent knees. "It's my fault you're here...and it'll be my fault if you get hurt," Kairi told Sora softly. Carter and Smith would do anything to keep her here, and if that meant killing her friends and Sora, they'd do it without hesitation. That's why they were firing at her two blonde friends now.

 

Namine kept her eyes on Roxas, afraid and curious. Wasn't he coming...?

Sora shook his head, giving up on the ropes for a moment as he gazed at Kairi. "No, none of this is your fault." Sora spoke softly despite the loud noise outside. They had all come there by choice, but Sora was starting to wonder if he should have brought Roxas and Namine. They were the ones in the most dangerous situation at that moment...

 

Roxas let his thoughts stop him for a moment, and that was his mistake. His eyes suddenly widened when he caught a glimpse of a bullet aimed for his head come flying down the hall. He quickly dropped to the ground to dodge the bullet just as it would have reached him, but suddenly cursed himself. The first thought that popped into his mind was Namine's situation. He hoped she wasn't in the line of fire, and that she wouldn't get hit because it was aimed at his head when he was taller than her...

Kairi didn't meet his gaze. Despite what he said, she still felt it was her fault. I can't lose him...not again...

 

Namine gasped softly when she saw Roxas duck, and she instinctively did the same, grabbing her head with both hands as she heard the bullet whiz over her head.

He kept his gentle blue eyes on her before he spoke again. "I'm not going to let anything happen to you," he promised her. Life without her would be worthless.

 

Roxas knew he was at a disadvantage now, lying on the ground while men were firing at him with their guns. He glanced over his shoulder quickly, seeing Namine ducking as well. But then he heard a gun reload and he turned his head sharply, his eyes widening when he saw the gun pointed over him...and at Namine.

Kairi took in a breath through her nose, the breath somewhat shaky as she nodded without a word. She knew he wouldn't, but that also scared her a little. Kairi couldn't live without Sora, and if something were to happen to him...

 

Namine lifted her head slightly and let her eyes fall on Roxas' lying form, but he wasn't looking at her. She followed his gaze and looked up, her eyes widening in fear when she saw the gun. She felt herself freeze in panic, unable to move.

Sora took his eyes off Kairi and focused on the ropes again, knowing that she was thinking more than she was saying. Still, he would force anything out of her...especially not at a time like this.

 

"NO!" Roxas cried just as the guy pulled the trigger. He scrambled to his feet, turning around at the same time, darting toward Namine as he was sure the bullet soared toward them. He jumped forward, grabbing Namine's form in his arms just as the bullet was about to approach her form. Roxas met the floor with Namine still in his arms, his body behind the wall next to the door inside the room, free of gunfire.

Kairi looked up suddenly at the cry, her eyes wide and catching Roxas and Namine landing on the floor, turning her head sharply when she heard a bullet go by and hit a hard surface.

 

Sora's hands suddenly came off away from the ropes again at the distraction, his eyes widening when he saw his two friends suddenly come into the room.

Namine was surprised at the sudden impact...not from a bullet, but from Roxas' arms tightly grabbing her. The next thing she knew, she was on the floor, still in his embrace. "Roxas?!" Namine cried, unsure if he was okay or not.

 

Roxas kept his arms tightly around her, taking in a breath. He opened his eyes, his gaze falling on her form. "Namine, are you all right?!" He heard a few more shots of gunfire, making him have to raise his voice over the noise.

Kairi flitted her gaze back to her friends, her eyes having a mix of panic, fear, and concern in them.

"I'm fine!" Namine cried, seeing the worry in his eyes, which she was sure were reflected in hers. "Are you okay?" She asked shakily, ignoring the gunfire in the background.

Sora felt his heart beating out of his chest as he looked at his two friends, concerned. He lifted his eyes to the doorway when he heard more gunshots, and he felt an urge just to run out there and end it all.

Roxas let his arms slip away from her waist as he pushed himself up slightly with his hands, that way his weight wasn't crushing her. He nodded at her question, catching the distress in her eyes as he looked down at her. He ignored the gunshots that came through the doorway, his main concern on her.

Kairi flitted her eyes to the door and then to Roxas and Namine, having heard their exchange in conversation. She was relieved to hear they were all right, but everyone was still threatened by the men outside the room.

 

Namine exhaled softly and started pushing herself up slightly, wishing that Roxas didn't move away from her. Still, she understood why he had to; there was still a battle to be fought, and that terrified her. If anything happened to him...

Sora shut his eyes for a brief moment before rising to his feet, his gaze falling on his right hand as he made the Kingdom Key reappear. There was fighting that needed to be done. He had no idea how many men were out there, or how powerful they were, but that didn't matter. It was his responsibility to protect those he loved.

 

Roxas noticed Namine pushing herself up as well, and so he pushed himself up enough to where he was on his knees in front of her. He kept his eyes on her, running over her form to make sure she didn't have any injuries.

Kairi looked up at Sora, her eyes falling to his hand when Kingdom Key appeared before they flitted back up to him again.

 

Namine kept both of her hands set on the cold concrete floor, though she hardly noticed that. She let her wide eyes stay on Roxas, still in shock from what had just happened.

Sora lifted the Keyblade into both hands, silently running it over with his eyes. The weapon had never failed him before, and he figured that it surely wouldn't fail now. He needed to protect his friends or die trying. That's what he felt in his heart.

 

Roxas met Namine's eyes, instinctively raising his hand and placing it on the side of her face and head. He leaned forward a little, searching her eyes to be sure she was all right. He could feel his pulse racing like crazy, both from adrenaline and the fear of what had almost happened. He understood that a battle still needed to be fought, and once he got the "okay" from Namine and was sure she was unharmed, he'd help finish this.

Kairi pulled her knees in slightly, her shoes on the hard floor as she looked up at the boy she loved. She wished she wasn't tied up to the pole and free to move. She just wanted to get out of here! Away from the danger and the threats! She didn't want anything happening to him, or anyone she cared for!

 

As she sat there on her knees, Namine felt a few tears flood her eyes again, but she quickly closed her eyes and looked to the floor, keeping them all inside. Crying in front of Roxas definitly wouldn't make anything better. She just had to try and be brave until it was all over. She bit her lip and silently nodded, knowing he was still gazing at her as he kept his hand on her cheek.

Sora stood still and waited for Roxas, his Keyblade falling back to his side. He'd make sure that this battle ended without any more close calls like that. He had to protect them...he just had to...

 

Roxas took in a breath and stroked her cheek once with his thumb before moving his hand to one of hers to help her up.

Kairi flitted her eyes over to the blonde couple near the door.
