KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Namine nodded in agreement, seeing the determination in Sora's eyes. She was surprised at how quickly he pulled himself together, but considering the circumstances, she knew that was a very good thing.

"We're running for now, heading straight into the main part of the city. Try to stay close; we don't have much time to lose." Sora stated simply, motioning in that direction with his head.

 

Roxas nodded and started toward Sora.

Kairi looked up, staring out what she could see of the windshield. All she could see was skyscrapers, which didn't help at all. She hoped a sign would show up somewhere...

 

Sora saw Roxas coming, and he started to run toward the city, feeling extremely slow compared to the cars that passed by them. He picked up his pace slightly.

Namine ran after Sora, keeping up with his pace the best that she could. She wouldn't let herself be left behind; Kairi was her best friend, and she wasn't going to let her go.

 

Roxas started running with him, keeping up.

Kairi took in a breath through her nose, feeling the trails from her tears dry on her cheeks. Pay attention, Kairi. Look for any sign you can, she encouraged herself.

OOC: Ugh, I hate my parents. They're kicking me off. D8 I'll see you tomorrow! Bye!

 

Sora kept his eyes straight ahead, noticing the sky darkening slightly above him. That was only in the back of his mind though, because other than that, one thought ran through his head. Kairi. Kairi. Kairi...

Namine continued to run, determination letting her keep up the pace. She had no idea what was going through Sora's mind, but she trusted him completely.

OOC: Don't worry about it. =) See you tomorrow!

 

Kairi kept her eyes on the windshield...what she could see out of it, anyway. She tried her hardest to ignore the conversations taking place around her with her kidnappers, Carter in her vision as she looked outside the van. Any sign...just one sign, please... she begged internally.

Roxas kept his eyes on Sora ahead of him, Namine running a few steps in front of him as well.

 

Sora grimaced slightly when he felt a small amount of panic in his heart, the emotions breaking through for a brief moment. He made a soft sound of disgust and shook his head slightly, picking up his pace a little as he focused his thinking. Where would the men possibly want to take Kairi? Well, he had a feeling they weren't from this world, which would mean that they probably had a ship somewhere. But where would they keep it? A barn? Not likely, since they were in NYC. An abandoned wherehouse, perhaps...?

Namine picked up her pace when she noticed Sora running faster, keeping up the best that she could.

 

Roxas noticed Sora running faster, and he also picked up his pace a little to keep up.

Kairi continued to look out the windshield, shifting a little due to the tightness of the ropes and the uncomfortable duct tape on her mouth. Just one sign, just one was all she was asking for, that way Sora could reach her. Kairi felt someone's gaze on her and her eyes flitted to the rearview mirror, where she saw Carter's black sunglasses.

"Don't you worry, Princess. We'll be sure to take good care of you," Carter said with an evil smile as he drove.

Kairi cringed away from his gaze at the tone of his voice. The way he put emphasis on "good" sounded so wrong to her, and it almost seemed like he was being slyly sarcastic. She felt fear shoot through her heart and cause her heart to skip a beat at the thought of what was reeling through his mind. She stared down at her feet for a moment as she tried to gain recomposure.

 

Sora suddenly felt another pang of fear in his heart, but he knew it wasn't caused by him. He had forced emotions to turn off for now, and he wouldn't let anything stop him from getting Kairi back. He knew that the feeling in his heart came from Kairi, and he felt slightly hurt at her sadness and fear.

 

Kairi took in a soft, deep breath before looking back up, avoiding the rearview mirror as she gazed out the windshield again. She needed to see something soon, or else she was going to be in trouble. She felt the van slow, seeing that they were still in the middle of the city and obviously waiting on a stoplight. Her breathing hitched when she saw a Red Lobster restaurant in her view, and she saw a pole that had Walk and Don't Walk signals for citizens. She looked a little closer and felt her heart skip a beat when she saw a street sign.

 

Sora continued to run, oblivious to the other people on the sidewalks. He hadn't heard Kairi's voice in a little while, and he could only assume that there hadn't been any change in direction. Still, that didn't make sense to him. He hightly doubt that their headquarters would be in the middle of the city, since they had to have had a ship. He muttered a prayer under his breath, hoping that they would stop driving soon. Running on foot wasn't nearly as fast as driving, and he knew that their chances of getting Kairi were slipping away with each second.

 

Kairi took a deep breath and lowered her eyes slightly as she tried to communicate with him. "Sora. We're at a stoplight on West 41st street, next to Red Lobster. They're getting ready to turn onto 7th Avenue," she directed him, a little uneasiness in her voice from her fear.

OOC: What's funny is that I actually was going to just make up a street and use 7th Avenue, but after looking it up, Red Lobster actually is on 7th Avenue. xDD

 

Sora felt his eyes widen slightly in surprise to the voice, but he quickly took in her words. He lifted his eyes to the street sign coming up on his right and saw that they were on West 38th. But that wasn't good enough. Wait...Kairi said they were turning onto 7th Avenue... "We're changing direction," he told his friends over his shoulder. "We're turning right here, then taking a shortcut through some of the alleyways to get to 7th." His piercing blue eyes moved as they crossed the street. He turned his direction to the right, running on the sidewalk now. "Good, Kairi. Thanks," his heart called out to her as he ran.

Namine took in Sora's words, her blond hair in her face a little bit as she followed him, her direction changing as well.

OOC: Seriously? That's pretty hilarious. xDD

 

Kairi lifted her eyes to the windshield again at his response. Now she just had to keep a look out for another sign of where they were driving. The words Carter had said to her had definitely made her uneasy, even more than she had been about this situation, if that was possible. And if she had seen the look in his eyes, she was sure it would've spoken a truly worse message.

Roxas ran across the street, avoiding cars on the street as he followed Sora's lead. He followed him onto the sidewalk, dodging the people walking. But a majority of them moved out of the way when they saw the three of them running.

OOC: I know. Crazy, right?! xD

 

Sora saw an alley way coming up on their left, and he silently motioned that they were heading that direction. He turned into it, his wide turn almost causing him to slip and fall. But he didn't care about that at all. He quickly regained his balance, running through the alley and getting closer to Kairi.

Namine's eyes widened slightly when she saw Sora's slipup, but she was relieved when he continued his pace.

OOC: Just a little! xD

 

Kairi caught Carter honking the horn out of the corner of her eye, obviously impatient with the traffic. But she could care less; Sora was coming for her and that's all that mattered. The slower they traveled, the faster Sora could reach her.

Roxas turned into the alleyway behind Sora and Namine, almost running into someone that was in the way.

 

Sora saw a crosswalk in front of him, and a sign saying it was time for them to walk. Perfect timing for them. He continued straight forward, knowing that Roxas and Namine were close behind him. They were getting closer now, he could feel it.

 

"Finally," Carter muttered under his breath, stepping on the gas and turning onto 7th.

Kairi took in a breath through her nose, the duct tape preventing her from breathing through her mouth. Why did they want her? What was their prize for capturing her? And where were they taking her? They knew all about Sora...and the Keyblades, and apparently the Nobodies. But they also knew about the Princesses of Heart, and by what the leader had said back at the house, they were going to hunt all 6 of the others down as well. Kairi blinked as she continued to watch the windshield. These men were from another world, and were obviously doing someone else's dirty work.

Roxas kept his eyes on Namine and Sora, making sure not to lose them in the crowds of people in the city.

 

Sora turned right and stayed on that sidewalk, keeping up his stride. They were still parallel to 7th, and now on 6th Avenue. He didn't risk crossing over into 7th though, just in case they caught any unwanted attention. As long as they were close, he was comfortable. Well, as comfortable as he could have been in that situation, anyway.

Namine followed behind Sora, panting as she tried to keep up with him. She wasn't in top form like he was, and she was surprised she could keep up with him at all.

 

Kairi stayed focused, her attention firmly on what direction they were going. Once they turned off 7th, she'd tell Sora where she was going. He had to come for her...he just had to...

Roxas kept his pace, this being the most running he had done in a long time.
