Roxas nodded at the man's statement. Still, though, what if it hurt? If he got excited or something, yeah, he'd probably move it quickly. He was sure it was bound to happen soon, and it scared him a little. The pain he'd gone through had been bad, really bad. He didn't want to go through it again, even if it was less extreme.

 

"Okay," the doctor looked at Roxas before turning around for the crutches. "You'll have to do the rest on your own now."

Namine bit her lip and let a small, gentle smile stay on her face as she gingerly pulled back her hand.

 

Roxas put his hands down on the bed by his sides, helping himself sit up straight as he got ready to move his leg. He bit his lip and stared down at his casted leg, slowly lifting it off the bed. He relaxed a little when it didn't hurt even doing that, and slowly began to move it over to the side of the bed.

 

Namine watched silently, keeping a close watch on Roxas' facial expression.

The doctor took a step away from the bed and held the crutches in front of him as he watched Roxas carefully.

 

Roxas turned his body as his leg hung over the side of the bed, and he slowly started lowering it to the floor. He'd taken a minute, but he felt himself become a little relaxed when he didn't feel any pain, just the weight of the cast molded around his calf.

 

The doctor stood by the side and held out the crutches toward Roxas, seeing that the teen appeared ready for them.

 

Roxas reached out and took the crutches from the doctor, putting one on each side of him. He was probably a little wobbly from not standing for a while, which he was thankful he had the crutches for. Roxas put his weight on his left leg and in his arms as he slowly pushed himself up, biting down on his lip.

 

The man stepped back a little, but not too far.

Namine watched and bit down her lip in anticipation.

 

Roxas slowly stood up, his weight on his left leg and the crutches now. He looked up at the doctor when he was fully upright, biting his lip.

 

"How does that feel?" The doctor asked, looking over Roxas.

 

Roxas looked down at his leg for a moment. Nothing seemed wrong or out of the ordinary. "Pretty good," he said, a small smile appearing on his lips as he looked back up at the doctor.

 

"No pain or anything?" The doctor asked, making sure that the teen was being completely honest.

 

Roxas moved his leg slowly, trying to see if he felt anything. He stopped when he moved it too fast and bit his lip as the pain shot through his leg, less severe than any other time, but still hurting. When the sting was gone, Roxas answered the man. "Maybe a little," he said.

 

Namine bit down harder on her lip when she heard Roxas' response. She hated it when he was in pain.

"Okay," the doctor said. He had realized that maybe Roxas had moved a little too quickly, but still, he wanted to be absolutely sure that that was the only problem. "Could you take a few steps for me?"

 

Roxas nodded, his eyes serious. He positioned his leg, and used the crutches to take a step. It was a little shaky, only because he was wobbly from not standing for a while and he'd never used crutches before. He took another, this one better than the last.

 

The doctor nodded once. "Take a few more." He told Roxas, staying closeby in case anything happened. But he was pleasantly surprised at how easily Roxas seemed to be moving around so far.

 

Roxas took another step slowly, feeling silly. He had to admit that he wasn't perfect at these things, and it showed with his next step. He didn't pick up one of the crutches right and he leaned over a little, but caught himself.

 

Namine took in a sharp breath and flinched when she saw Roxas nearly fall, but she did notice that the doctor was right there and prepared to catch him if he stumbled. That made Namine feel a little bit more comforted.

 

Roxas bit his lip and looked over at the doctor. "I guess they're going to need getting used to," he said. He glanced down at his leg again. He had to be extra careful; he didn't want to have to hurt himself again.

 

The doctor nod at Roxas. "Why don't you practice moving around for a little while?" He'd stay until Roxas got the hang of it.
