KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Roxas grabbed the knob and opened the door, poking his head in. "Are you decent?" he joked with a small, playful smile.

 

Sora arched a brow in suprise when he heard the voice and saw the blond teen peek his head in the room. He definitly wasn't expecting him; Sora had thought that Kairi had been the one at the door. "Yeah, I'm decent," he said, a small smirk appearing on his face.

 

"Good, 'cause that would've been awkward," Roxas said jokingly, stepping into the room.

 

Sora's small smile stayed on his face at the joke, a soft chuckle escaping his lips. "Definitly."

 

Roxas smiled softly at him as he walked toward his spot on the bed. "So, how're you feeling?"

 

Sora hesitated for a brief second, the subject turning away from the playfullness to a serious topic. "Fine," he said after a moment, lying.

 

Roxas arched one eyebrow a little bit as he approached him. "Are you sure?" he asked slowly and curiously.

 

Sora nodded slightly, though he was sure Roxas could tell he was lying. He never was the best at lying.

OOC: Ugh, be right back.

 

Roxas didn't respond but instead sat next to Sora on the bed. "Get enough sleep?" he asked, noticing then that he was actually avoiding what he wanted to talk about.

OOC: Okay.

 

Sora shrugged slightly at the random question, turning his head to look at Roxas as he spoke. "Enough to make it through the day." He answered. He could have gotten more sleep, but it was too late now. He would just have to make up for it later.

 

Roxas nodded and looked ahead of him. "That's good."

 

"How about you?" Sora asked softly, looking away from Roxas and looking down at his clasped hands. "You guys could have at least used the beds." He said, feeling guilty again that he hadn't taken care of his friends the previous night.

 

Roxas shook his head and turned his gaze to Sora. "Nah, I don't think it mattered to any of us whether we were in the beds or not. We just wanted to be sure you were okay, especially Kairi," Roxas explained.

 

"Mm," Sora answered with a soft nod, his gaze falling to the floor. He should have expected an answer like that, but in a way, it made things worse. They had been worried about him and he hadn't been able to take care of them.

 

Roxas nodded and kept his eyes on his best friend, noticing distress.

 

Sora changed the hold of his hands slightly, aware that Roxas was still looking at him.

 

"Is something bothering you?" Roxas asked, a little hesitant. He knew, of course, that there were still affects from yesterday's accident taking a toll on Sora physically, but it seemd like emotional stress.

 

"I'm fine," Sora said, not directly answering the question. He lifted his face and looked over in Roxas', deciding again to not be totally honest. His friends had worried about him enough last night, and he didn't want them to be upset with him. Of course, Sora wasn't upset at Roxas or anything, the whole thing was just too close for comfort and too stressful the previous night and that morning.

 

Roxas nodded, meeting Sora's gaze. Sora may have told him he was all right, but his eyes expressed something different. Roxas didn't know if it were the physical affects, emotional...or both, but it showed that Sora wasn't being completely honest. He turned his head ahead of him again, leaning forward as he clasped his hands together and leaned his elbows against his knees, being careful with his right elbow for an obvious reason.

 

"I can't afford not to be," Sora mumbled softly, his head turning downward again as he gazed at the wall in front of him. He immediatly regretted letting the words escpae his lips, knowing that Roxas had probably heard them, even if they were mumbled.
