KH - Fast Food Madness! V2

Kairi felt his faintly cold cheek through her navy blue shirt on her shoulder. She only tightened her arms around his form a little, wanting to warm him faster, and hold him because she had been so terrified when he had fallen in the lake.

Roxas bit his lip and looked at the floor, running a hand through his hair. He felt so guilty.

 

Sora wasn't sure what to do now; he knew that the incident at the lake had scared Kairi as much as it had him, but he was afriad that if he wrapped his arms around her to comfort her, he would only make her colder too.

"Roxas?" Namine spoke softly, putting a hand on Roxas' arm as she gazed up at him. She could tell from his expression that he wasn't happy, and she wanted to comfort him somehow.

 

Kairi blinked, her eyes focusing again on the wall ahead of her. Despite this incident, she had still had a wonderful Valentine's Day with Sora. She'd had fun with him, and her friends. The snowball fight had brought back old memories, but she had also created new ones this year. Happy memories...but also one bad. But her joyous memories conquered the worse, and she knew everything would be okay as she stood there, her arms wrapped around Sora.

Roxas blinked, turning his gaze to Namine. "Hm?"

 

Sora exhaled softly, snuggling his head a little deeper into Kairi's shoulder.

"You okay?" Namine asked softly, running her hand lightly over his arm as she gazed into his ocean blue eyes.

 

Kairi felt herself smile a little, and she let one of her arms leave his back. With her free arm, she used her hand to wrap her fingers around Sora's wrist, pulling his arm so it went behind her back. She let his hand rest on her back before releasing her hand from his wrist and bringing her arm to wrap around him again.

Roxas looked into her eyes hesitantly, his eyes uncertain. He didn't really know how to express what he was feeling, and so he bit his lip as the scene replayed in his mind. He should've noticed the lake... He shouldn't have tackled him...

 

Sora opened his eyes partway and gazed at the wall for a moment before turning his head, letting his chin lightly rest on Kairi's shoulder. He appreciated her care more than he could put into words.

Namine's eyes softened as she gazed up at Roxas, searching his eyes with hers. She could guess that he was blaming himself for this, even though it wasn't his fault. She continued to silently rub his arm, not shifting her sight from his eyes.

 

Kairi rubbed Sora's back with one hand, trying to warm him up a little more.

Roxas quit biting his lip and closed his eyes, his eyebrows slightly furrowed as he exhaled through his nose.

 

Sora smiled softly at the caring gesture, wrapping his one arm that was already around her a little tighter.

Namine bit her lip slightly and stopped rubbing his arm. She silently brought her hand to his face and cupped his cheek in her hand.

 

Kairi felt herself smile, and continued to rub his back.

Roxas opened his eyes at the soft touch, his piercing blue orbs meeting light blue.

 

A soft sigh escaped Sora's lips as he relaxed at the gentle touch, finally thinking cleary again. For a while, the only thing he could feel and think about was the coldness, but now he felt his mind wander away from that topic.

Namine let go of the bit on her lip and gently stroked Roxas' cheek with her thumb. "It's not your fault," she said softly, knowing what he was thinking about.

 

Kairi turned her head in slightly toward him, her hand travelling a little slower along his back. "How are you feeling?" she asked softly, speaking for the first time in a few minutes.

Roxas shook his head slightly. "No, it is. I should've seen the lake that close to him," he said, lowering his gaze to his feet as he stood there.

 

"Better," Sora responded softly, speaking for the first time since the accident.

Namine shook her head slightly as she moved her hand back to his shoulder. "No; it was an honest mistake." She told Roxas quietly, still looking at him even though he had looked away.

 

"Good." Kairi felt her smile widen at his soft words. Better was, well...better than worse.

Roxas bit his lip and closed his eyes again, shaking his head a little. It may have been a mistake, but it had been caused by him. Sora had been close to death because of him, and Roxas wouldn't stop feeling guilty so easily.

OOC: OMG. O.O The song An Honest Mistake by The Bravery just popped into my head at Namine's words. xDDD

 

Sora turned his head again and nestled his head on Kairi's shoulder, shutting his eyes again in exhaustion. He didn't know how much longer he could stand...or stay awake.

"Nobody blames you," Namine said softly, rubbing his arm lightly.

OOC: xD I never heard that song before.

 

Kairi felt Sora relax a little. Hopefully he was good and warm now.

"I know," Roxas replied quietly, lifting his gaze to hers at her gentle touch. None of them would ever blame him, and they all knew Roxas well enough to never accuse him of doing such a thing. But still...he couldn't help but feel bad about it.

 

Sora sighed softly, still a little cold but much better than he had been a few minutes ago.

Namine stayed silent and continued stroking his arm, trying to bring him some kind of comfort.

 

Kairi loosened her hold a bit, Sora's sigh sounding of one from exhaustion. Maybe she should let him rest...

Roxas took in a soft breath as he gazed into her eyes, appreciating her care.

OOC: I have to get off earlier than I planned. My mom needs to get on. =/ I guess I'll see you tomorrow... Bye.

 

Sora exhaled softly, his cheek staying on Kairi's shoulder despite the fact he had felt her loosen her grip. He did want to sit down, but at the same time, the warmth and comfort she brought was so great that he didn't want it to end. He shivered again, a drop of water falling off his hair and landing on his shirt.

Namine smiled weakly at Roxas, continuing to move her hand along his arm. He still looked like he felt guilty, but she couldn't think of any other words to comfort him.

OOC: Aww, okay. See you tomorrow!

 

Kairi felt Sora shiver, and tightened her hold a little again. She didn't know how well she was helping him, but she would do what she could to make sure he was better.

Roxas returned her faint smile with one of his own. Despite the feelings he had on the inside, he would try his best to hide it. For Namine's sake.

 

Sora let out a breath, relieved to feel Kairi hold him closer in her arms. He moved his head slightly, planting a light kiss on Kairi's neck before moving back his previous position, keeping his wet hair off her shoulder.

Namine bit down on her lip slightly and looked away, her gaze falling to the ground for a moment.
