Keyblade War: Once apon a time......

"Seems that those sheathless swords are more common than I thought. Seems like everyone has one. And based off of that light show I'll take it they are more special than that. All the same my axe hasn't let me down yet. You can keep your funny shaped swords." Michelo commented

 

Fardel laughed. Finally something he could agree with. Even though he didn't have an Axe, he had a sword and it was rather plain. However it had more history and was the only thing Fardel could rely on in battle.

 

Kross winced when he hit the ground, his eyes looked up to Fardel and glared."I'm only sticking with this group because of the mission, you bully."He snarled, standing and walked past Fardel, looking forward. He smiled to the others."So, where shall we start? I can't wait to get there and back home."

Maybe Fardel was a bully, but he did what he had to do. This mission in reality meant nothing to him. He could have walked away and never regreted it. But as of now, this mission was Fardel's only purpose. Fardel also wanted to get an idea about what he was up against with these Dark Seekers.

 

"well... it isn't really my fault that they just appeared out of nowhere one day," Mark muttered as he followed the others, knowing that eventually he would be doing the leading... maybe he could lead Fardel into a patch of quicksand, teach the jerk a lesson... His thoughts were cut of by another growl from his stomach, he thought it was so loud that the emperor would be able to hear it back in the palace.

 

"If you are done showing off the weaponry the food offer is still open map-man" Michelo said holding up the half of a chicken again.

 

The pale haired woman slowed down and took a look at Mark's weapons and sighed a little at the clueless that had seemed to run rampant in the group. She brushed her bangs out of her eyes turned to stare at them.
" That there is what you call a keyblade if you didn't know, I don't even have one myself yet I know alot about them. Many of the top knights in our kingdom can wield them but it is still rare for someone to wield it. You wouldn't believe it but Jeckhold and jarhead back there can wield a keyblade, Jeckhold show him."
Jeckhold only sighed as he stuck out his gloved hand a key appeared in a swirl of blue light, it was much larger then Mark's and dark obsidian in color that had a metallic sheen.
" Thats one, the other I only call out for emergencies."

 

"So if we come across a lock large enough for me to fit me head in we have so far six keys that are perfect for the job, except that one is only to be used in emergencies." Michelo said with none too subtle cynicism. "Honestly I'm not sure why you would bother with a weapon so dull. Maybe their vanishing act makes for a good sneak attack or quick call to defense, as Alisha proved earlier, but for actual combat they don't seem all that great honestly."

 

" Dull? Maybe for someone who can barely swing the thing. But keyblades come in different shapes, sizes, and abilities. Each is tailored to fit the strength and individuality of someone's heart. Mine may look pretty dull, but judging on appearances alone won't get you anywhere in life. Its the same principal as a when one compares a butterknife to a steakknife, in truth the butterknife is more dangerous then that of the steakknife." Jeckhold said as he made his key disappear.
" Afterall if a keyblade was such a dull weapon why put higher in the ranks?"

 

"keyblade," Mark murmured, staring at Lionheart, then dispelling it with another gyser of flame, he then turned to Michelo and snatched the remaining leg of the chicken, biting into it greedily.

 

"I'll leave you with your butter knives then. Just one thing. Why put weapons at higher ranks, it is the person behind it that actually matters, isn't it?" Michelo asked, confused with Jeckhold's last statement.

 

Storm looked at the other group's weapons and blinked."You got a keyblade huh?"He said. He paused and thought for a moment, smiling softly."This is interesting, I knew something was familiar about you guys."His own Keyblade, Odin appeared in his hand."I got a key too, see?"

 

"Yes it certainly does, or else we couldn't wield the key if we were just any person. The key is very choosey. But its not just the key that makes us stronger, you have to train for a while just to master it or else it would like running around with a loose cannon. Even if someone were to get a key in this group at this very moment it wouldn't make him or her better then anyone else, why because they wouldn't know how to use it. Indeed a key does give one some advantage but it doesn't make us any better if you have no skill to live up to it."
Jeckhold said with a cheery smile as he walked along.
" Anyways our dear Lee is proof here that the higher ranks isn't all about keys, even though there is alot filling the ranks."'
He said patting her on the shoulder.

 

Mark cleans the chicken leg down to the bone in moments, tossing the bone into the air and incinerating it with a muttered fire spell. "I don't know.... being able to unlock things with my sword sounds kinda cool, and my magic is way stronger when I'm using it.

 

"So, hold on. We have seven picky, disappearing, oversized, key shaped, butterknives of ultimate power? I'm officially lost beyond words here" Michelo said. With a sigh he continued. "I guess you'll have a chance to show me later. Hard to imagine there not being a fight during all this. Should we go already, or does anyone have something to attend to still?"

 

" Pretty much yes, but like I said don't judge on appearances. Same thing for those seekers we mentioned earlier. They make look and act like any of us, but they really are much more. They are smart at cloaking their appearance and mannerism."
Jeckhold said as Farrow drew more closer.
" Anyways I wonder why miss prissy didn't come along."
He commented to Farrow.
" I don't know either, I think she might be scared of Lee or something."

 

Fardel, not wanting to get into the conversation himself, only laughed at the jokes Michelo was making about these oversized butter knives. Still, there had to be more to these keyblades than just being big swords that can unlock things. Although Fardel had no idea what, nor did he really care. When they were all done playing around with keys, Fardel might teach them to use real weapons.

As the group moved, Fardel moved with it. They mostly seemed to dislike Fardel, and to Fardel, that was obvious. But Fardel wasn't upset about it. Everyone had their opinions just as Fardel had his. And in the end, that's what everything was... Opinions. It was apparently these gaurds' opinion that only higher-ups should get keyblades, it was Michelo's opinion that they seemed worthless other than unlocking giant locks, and it was Fardel's opinion that this mission seemed hopeless from the very beginning. However, not many people shared Fardel's 'enthusiasm' for this mission, and that's why they disliked him.

 

Mark walked along with the group, occassionally reaching over and ripping a handful of chicken off of Michelo's chicken so he could stuff his starving face.

 

Storm put his hands behind his head, walking along with the group cheerfully. He smiled and closed his eyes, enjoying the weather."I think this will be fun."He said, grinning at the others gently.

 

" Don't mention that woman around me, she may be a high mage but shes a pain in the ass." Lee said, putting it out plainly as she walked.
" I think thats why Farrow acts so rashly lately, she always has him under her thumb. I wouldn't blame him trying to act like a kid with a crazy woman like that running around."
Lee said, the discomfort she got from the mentioning of the woman shown on her face as she rolled her eyes.
" Yeah . . . I wish Father wasn't so overly concerned about my future that he hooked me up with someone that was barely my type." Farrow sighed sadly as he walked along. " Whats the point anyways of making the match if shes got eyes for my bestfriend instead and not me."
Jeckhold chucked in response to his comment as he patted Farrow on the shoulder. The three seemed to be in their own chatter forgetting about their traveling partners walking alongside them.
