One of the most mysterious weapons in all of final fantasy...I just decided to make a list of what it can do...since BBS mainly focuses on the keyblades anyway. Add to the list and discuss.

    Properties of the Keyblade:
unbreakable(?) we've seen Ven's 'blade break...but we don't know if its actually a keyblade...
Ability to cut through EXTREMELY tough material...it cut through several buildings in kh2.
Medium of either Light, Darkness or Twilight
    Can be dual weilded.
    Require keychains.
    Can lock anything.

Can be pretty much any "sword" it wants to...******* sword (Sora/Mickey) katana (Riku)
Connected to certain realms. (Sora has the light realm key, Riku has Twilight, Mickey has dark)
Unlike Leon's gunblade, it can control more than one element.
    Transform(?)

    Abilities Humans get from keyblades:
    Super Strength
    Super Speed
    Flight
    Super Endurability
    Magic

Umm, it's not a Final Fantasy game. It's it's own game with Disney and FF characters in it.

I realize this. But Nomura created it, and out of all the weapons he created for each and every character hes got this is the most mysterious don't you think?

They might have some more FF related weapons. They had Fenrir. It's a possibility they might have other such as Brotherhood from FFX.

I suppose so. I'm not quite sure, since I've only played the KH games, FFVII, and Crisis Core.

I know they are very durable, but they can obviously break easily if frozen (Ven). As for locking anything, they are mostly used to unlock thing now that you think about it.

unbreakable: What evidence is there to suggest that? I say false, you said yourself, Ven's broke.

Ability to cut through EXTREMELY tough material: This one's cool.

Medium of either Light, Darkness or Twilight: Not sure there's a medium of any kind, no real evidence for that.

Can be dual weilded: Well no ****. What, some magical force might prevent someone from holding 2 at once?

Require keychains: Pretty sure BbS's didn't have.

    Can lock anything: Debateble.

Can be pretty much any "sword" it wants to: What? Way to the Dawn is not a katana, this point is... what?

Connected to certain realms. (Sora has the light realm key, Riku has Twilight, Mickey has dark): Well Kairi has one, and I don't recall a twilight realm, so unlikely, at least in entirety.

Unlike Leon's gunblade, it can control more than one element: Most of this is arbitrary stuff that doesn't need to be stated for obviousness, you realize.

Transform: That's the keychain I believe. Keychains are supposedly made from memories, which would make sense.

How do we know Ven's blade is a keyblade? Give me evidence for that. Incase you didn't see, I put the (?) there because I myself don't know. But we've seen keyblades cut through buildings and other tough things without even getting a scratch.
Sora's keyblade shoots light from it. It channels light, therefore, a medium. I do admit I'm not sure about shooting darkness or twilight though.

Ugh, think, dood. Theres only ONE keyblade. No one knows how they can be dual weilded but a good guess is that Sora/Roxas put two keychains on one keyblade.

Riku weilds his keyblade as if it were a katana (one handed) Sora and Mickey weild their keyblade as if they are ******* swords (1-2 hands) Roxas weilds his either like Sora or like kodachis which are like "dual katanas" look at their fighting styles I didnt just make this up.

If you've seen Terra's keyblade you'll see that his keyblade -if it is what hes using is a keyblade can transform into various things.

Even so, it's probable that only Terra possesses that ability. No other Keyblade master we know of has demonstrated such a skill.

What do you mean? Where did you see that. All I've seen is his keyblade in its regular form.

i say its very debatable whether or not the BBS keyblades are actually proper keyblades. in fact, the only proper ones i see are the ones from sunset horizons, and master xehanorts keyblade.

If Terra's Keyblade doesn't have a Keychain (and that goes for Ven and Aqua too) and Terra's can transform, then can Ven and Aqua's Keyblade transform too.

We do not know this for sure because we know nothing about TVA's keyblades. We dont even know if they are keyblades or not.

    We don't know.

I kinda doubt that TVA's weapons are NOT keyblades...I wonder why Nomura would want to start using a different weapon now? Maybe the keyblade reforms itself when it breaks. Plus, the "buildings" could be more like illusions. A lot of stuff is debatable.
A keychain is needed to transform a keyblade though(unless someone has a strong enough mind to completely transform it without the keychain). Without it, all the wielder can do is morph it's physical form like Terra did. He did not change it's appearance completely...
Yeah. Technically, the game has a plothole. Keyblade's channel magic through them, allowing the wielder to use magic when he/she normally couldn't. Sora could use magic anyways after losing his keyblade temporarily in KH1. Although that could be argued by saying that he still had a connection to it(although in order to "channel" magic you have to be physically holding the weapon) or that he had already learned how to use magic without it.

    D: Long post ftw.

Keyblade is a giant key which can do anything. It has it all already in it, but Sora must learn to unlock those new abilities. Maybe in KHIII he can master it perfectly?
