I know, I know so many Obama threads but this one is slightly different.

Some kids in my school were shouting in the halls today:
    "Keep the white house white."

I don't know what to say to that.
    No, I lied.I do.
    a.Rasist *****es.
    b.They were bad kids anyway.
c.And I see you running for president soon dumb ass?
d.He got there some how, I'd like to see you do it.

    Your thoughts.

That is really sad. Some people really do think that way though.
Same could be said about women when Hilary Clinton was a potential. People are scared of change.

I love the fact that the building is white makes people assume it must be owned by a white person. *sigh* People like this are why we have contraception =/ And the reason why enforced euthanasia for the clinically backward should be brought in >_>

People also talked about that in our school. Stupid topic. It's a house, why does it matter what color it is or it's name? Seriously racist people.

And racist and sexist people are seriously annoying. We're all the same on the insides as Famous said. Some people need to get over themselves and grow up.

It would be one thing if Obama was pushing a certain religion that clashed with America's Christian history, but just because of his skin colour? That's such a terrible reason to be racist. It's not like they've elected a terrorist.

It is called parents. The parents are always to blame. They either gave them these opinions and view points or didn't beat them out (either literally or metaphorically) when they had the chance.

@In_the_Twilight: OMFH, America was not founded by Christianity, never was, never will be. "One nation under god" was never meant to be in the the Pledge and should really be removed. If I hear ONE MORE PERSON start talking about the "Christian Heritage" or "Christian USA" I will actually hate America till the end of time

You know at one time, there were talks of painting the white house black. I forget the time period but it was to make it less noticeable. For some reason I want to say Cold War era.

Anyway...Obama isn't even completely black. He's only half black...which the press seems to forget or not bother with half the time.

And the underlying cause is the parents since the kids hear this talk from somewhere. It depends on the children to either follow in their parents' footsteps or to think for themselves. [sarcasm]Heaven forbid.[/sarcasm]

I would laugh my a** off but that's just sad. They have no right to criticise Obama. He's a wonderful man and I think he'll make an even better president.

This is pathetic. This ties in with the texts i received telling me to prepare to meet on the plantations at the crack of dawn.

People need to realize that change is inevitable and that all thought this goes against over 200 years of normality, this is a good thing. It means that we as a nation are growing culturally and this may be the start of finally COMPLETELY removing segregation. (all though i doubt that it will ever FULLY be abolished)

And if people keep freaking out tell them that we should always try something once? Try an African American President, try a Latin American VP, or a female in the Oval Office.

    We just need to try.

I can understand people would be annoyed he won because of his views and political outlook, thats to be expected since not everyone is a democrat.

I don't like the fact that people are being like this over the fact he is a different colour though :/

It makes me laugh, those who think that Obama doesn't represent America, well since the true Americans are the Native Americans, does that mean they will accept someone of NA descent? Or will allow someone from the reserves to come to power? I highly doubt it.

This racist crap is just an excuse to have a go and *****. If his skin colour is all that people can object to then it implies there isn't a lot people can object to otherwise.

Similarly those who sympathise with him just because of his skin colour :/ well they need to grow up and stop playing pretend with politics. I don't give a **** what colour he is, it is him as a person and his policies that should be the deciding matter.

Shame we don't live in an Ideal World 8D

    Hey. They're Racist *******s.
I said I was anti christian, meaning for me, I don't believe in God, or for any God in the matter, and some one guy said, so your voting for OBAMA? Racist idiot.
    I was mad.
    Real mad.
:sleepy: He ended up looking like this.
Everyones a little bit Racist, showing in the avenue q song, and thats completely true.
Everyones freakin over Obama, but most people, shown in the votes, liked the idea of Obama. I do too.
Switching over the idea that we should have a black guy for president is hard for most people, because they were probably raised in a family that generations back was probably liking the idea.
Or, the parents are real bad, and so they thought so too, that racism is ok.
It'll take many years, and Obama's good lead, for them to change their minds. Obama will have to prove himself in the end.

If you're going to complain about the president, have a real reason. I don't see what's so bad about this. I mean Obama didn't even bring up the subject of race in his speach. People just need get over it.

Well obviously, because it has to do with white people. If someone said. "I'm sick of white people", not as many people would have a problem with it. But it should never be a race thing.

That's really sad. Why do people have to be racist? Every person is the same underneath their skin color.

There are some good things coming from Obama becoming president (I'm a hardcore republican). All the blacks people in our contry, well, a majority of them, supported Obama, fine. Change is good (not being racist or anything). But imagine how many riots would have broke out if McCain became president instead, countless is all I can say. But I am quite dissappointed that he failed to speak about the large contrversial issues in our country, whther he has plans or not, it's quite un-settling and makes you think that he does not have any motives for the large issues. My school was split nearly 50/50 between Obama and McCain. But I had some incidents involving yours, with keeping the white house white thing, not exactly, but similar to it.

This boy walked up to me and said,"If Barack Obama get's elected president, will it still be called the White House?"
I was just thinking, Do you know how stupid you sound?
Barack Obama is no different than any other person on the street.

This was about a month before elections.
I seriously wanted to punch that kid in the nose.

i hate when people are ignorant like that. it's fine if you think like that in your personal thoughts (in my opinion because i'm sure that no one can honestly say that they have never judged another person on looks) but keep it to yourself and don't hurt anyone physically or verbally because they look different.
