i think her songs are good because they are telling a story, not mention catchy rhythm

Yes, her songs are pretty good.

I don't particularly have a favorite, but I really like E.T. right now.
It's just got a catchy beat to it.

Ok, as my last post in this thread was deleted for me being a complete ******* (and, honestly, yeah, I was being an uncalled for ass), I'll post something with some actual substance:

    Katy Perry sucks.

Yeah, that doesn't say anything, but it does sum up my thoughts. As for why I say she sucks, here's a small list of reasons:
1: She can't sing. Listen to any live recording and brace for ear pain. She is constantly off key and barely stays with the proper melody. She's untalented and needs auto-tune to sing and, if you need auto-tune to sing, YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE A CAREER IN SINGING.
2: She's not original. Her work is generic, derivative and bland pop garbage. Its the same kind of crap we've been getting since the 1980s only without the cheesy charm of the 80s.
3: Her lyrics are not profound. At all. "Firework" is a generic "you're special" message and nothing more. Its the exact same message we've heard since pre-school. Like her music, her lyrical abilities are generic, derivative and bland. At least Gaga tries to be relevant with her "important" lyrics.

Really, Perry is just like the majority of the pop stars of the last three decades, big for a while, then forgotten within the decade because everyone will realize that she sucks.

I like California Girls because of the video clip

Her music's alright, sometimes entertaining, for the most part i like it. Though the song "what happens in vegas" (if thats the name) bored the crud out of me.

I mostly agree with the others things you've said. But I disagree with this. She can sing, that is not something that can change regardless of how much you may personally like/dislike her.

She has some skills in singing. Possibly not the best, but definitely able to sing well enough. In these performances, there's no auto-tune involved.

Her voice in the acoustic performances is nothing more than average. I mean, it's a fairly pleasant voice, but I won't call it anything out of the ordinary, then again, neither did you.

Overall I agree with cloud, She's generic. Along the lines of Britney Spears, Lady Gaga and all of those crappy ones. (Though Gaga has quite a voice acoustically, I must unfortunately admit.)

    I don't like Katy Perry.
    At all.
As has been said, shes just so generic, and not paticularly good.
Also, she is so fake looking and acting.
Which I hate in anyone, regardless of fame or not.
And I will admit that if she comes on the radio I either change it,or get all grumpy.

I'm not a fan of pop (or, not that much of a fan). But I have to admit, she has done a few good songs (StarStrukk, Hot n' Cold) and at least the music videos to go with them are entertaining. But right now she is boring the hell out of me.

I like Katy Perry, not for her music, but because of the things I've heard about her, and when I met her, she just had wonderful vibes.

I did like E.T. though, I thought it was a nifty song, and her costumes when performing it are great.

I don't really have much to say on her music though. I think it's the same as any other pop artist out there, and that it's rather boring. It's not really my genre anyway, but I can see what people like about her music if that makes any sense. It's good for the radio, and good to listen to if that's the type of music you're into. She's gorgeous too, which is wicked awesome and one of the only reasons she's one of my favorite female musicians.

E.T is the only song I've listened to repeatedly of hers, I like its dark undertone and SciFi theme.

I'm not a big fan of her other works, I know them but I don't really care too much for them. If it was a party and it was playing, and everyone was in the mood of singing it then yes I would make the most out of it and sing along. But by myself, I highly doubt.

Her song "the one that got away" is way over-played...everytime I turn on the radio IT'S THERE. at least these past few days it hasn't been on as much...

I like her singles like E.T and Firework but I don't really care much for her, lol

I love E.T. and Firework, the latter because it came out during a rather rough time in my life and I appreciated the pep talk out of nowhere from an otherwise complete stranger.
