Kalian - 150PA (Post Apocalypse)

"Damn deserts, damn heat." A blue figure was moving through the desert very slowly with lots of water dripping onto the earth, then instantly drying up, "There has to be a village or town around here somewhere." The figure stopped and closed his eyes, "Come on, I need ice, don't fail on me now! I need ice...*cough*...water.....drying up.....*cough*.....need.....help....." The non-human collapsed from dehydration luckily in the shade of a big rock.

 

Kyla noticed a distant figure collapse. She swooped to get a closer look. Whoever it was had fainted. She picked him up and found him to be heating rapidly. 'He needs to be cooled' she thought. Flying back to the cave she placed him in the bathing pool, which was always cold. She stayed with him to make sure he was safe.

 

When Tor woke up, no one was there. "I wonder where they went." He got up and walked around.

 

Kyla heard the movement. "Tor, is that you? I'm here, by the bathing pool. I found a stranger in need of help. He is unconscious at the moment. I'm going to wrap him in cooling damp blankets as he seems to be burning up. Stay in the cave please. I need your help."

 

Tor found her and went by her side. "How can I help?" he asked.

 

"Can you hold back the curtains for me and make sure that my route is clear. He's cold now and I think that's how he should be somehow. There is ice forming on him."
Kyle smiled and looked into him eyes. "Thank you. I feel somehow that you will be here for me whatever happens."

 

He nodded and held back the curtains. "You're welcome." he said. "And I will be there for you, no matter what.

 

Kyla made the stranger as comfortable as possible. There was nothing she could do now but wait. She went over to Tor and kissed him on the cheek. "Thank you" she whispered, blushing slightly.

 

Tor also blushed and smiled. Then, he kissed her on the cheek. "You're welcome." he said, blushing even more.

 

"You really are very nice and kind. I can't work out why you have always been alone, It's so unfair. You should always have company."

 

Tor started getting teary-eyed. "Thank you, for everything." he said. "You are a wonderful person."

 

Kyla noticed his eyes filling with tears. She put her arms around him and held him close. "It's alright" she whispered.

 

He started crying. "Thank you, for everything." he repeated. He hugged her back.

 

"You have nothing to thank me for." She softy kissed his forehead. "I'm here when you need me."

 

He let go and wiped away his tears. "You saved my life. I am in your debt. I will do anything you ask of me."

 

"Your life is your own Tor. You must make your decisions. I will not hold you to such a promise in case it puts you in danger. I.......I could never knowingly put you in that position. I've grown fond of you."

 

"Does that mean?"

 

"I won't knowingly let any harm come to you. I've been looking after you since you were injured and I realise that you have no one else to care for you. You are always so kind and polite, not at all as you paint yourself in your descriptions of the past. I think you need confidence and care from someone else to help you see the real you."

 

"Oh." he said. He was a little dissappointed. He thought she was going to tell him she loved him back.

 

Kyla looked at his face and saw the disappointment. She was terrible with words and panicked when it mattered most. There was only one thing she could do. She kissed him on the lips, hoping this would tell him the truth.
