Kalian - 150PA (Post Apocalypse)

“Once this world was called Earth, but that was before the wars. Man’s greatest achievement it seems was to destroy the planet that supported him. Green hills and valleys replaced by wasteland where life was burned away in the nuclear fury. That was over a century ago. Civilisation broke down in the aftermath as many had died and those that didn’t fought for their very survival. Mutations occurred and new fledgling races have begun to emerge. Humans are no longer the sole superior race. Some fear the new ones but some treat them as friends. The only rule is that of the strongest, so people band together in groups. One day we will return to the glory days as there is the prophesy of a leader who will unite all, human or otherwise. Until then we survive from day to day. There is an old Earth saying ‘keep your friends close and your enemies closer’. Do you believe in unity or do you see the world forever divided? A new day is dawning for Kalian........”

Kyla looked out across the barren flats. Once this had been plains, or so the story said. She hated being exposed and on her own. The wilderness was no place to be caught off guard. She took off and glided on the wind currents and thermals, enjoying the feeling of freedom. She had to get back to her cave before dark.

Kyla noticed movement in the distance. She began to fly for real, picking up speed. As she flew she loaded her crossbow. It was a pest as she would have to make more bolts later.
