There are four realms in the Kingdom Hearts universe.

Realm of Light: made up mostly of light and makes up almost half of the KH universe, similar to the Realm of Darkness. Like the other realms, this one has a Keyblade: Kingdom Key

Realm of Darkness: the second half of the Kingdom Hearts universe and is made up of Darkness. As with the Realm of Light, this realm has a Keyblade: Darkside (Inverted Kingdom Key)

Realm of In Between: the third plane in the Kingdom Hearts series and lies between the Realm of Light and Realm of Darkness.

Realm of Nothingness: the fourth and final realm in the Kingdom Hearts games. Nothing exists here and if one stays in there for too long, they will cease to exist. The only way to survive here is to remember your past

Each Realm has a chosen Keyblade Master right?

Realm of Light chose Sora (after Riku) to wield the Kingdom Key

    Realm of Darkness chose Mickey to wield Darkside {Ironically enough Mickey is so strong hearted that he has NEVER used or gave in to his heart's darkness, could you imagine how powerful is Heartless/Nobody would be?}

For the Realm of In Between, because Riku is able to live in the light and yet accept darkness, it is possible that his Keyblade, Way to the Dawn which serves as an entity of both light and darkness, chose him to be its master because of this reason.

And finally the Realm of Nothingness (you know where i'm going by now): It is unknown if this realm has chosen a keyblade Master or not. If so it is most likely Kairi, as she is the only known fourth wielder of the Keyblade, and received her Keyblade from Riku shortly after remembering her past. However this is very possible, since it is another one of the realms and each realm has a wielder.
However, Roxas, being a nobody, would suite the Realm of Nothingness, BUT this is highly unlikely since Roxas' ability to wield the Keyblade is inherited directly by being Sora's Nobody.

Maybe in the year before KH2 (during Days??) Riku ended up in this realm and found the Keyblade. He figured out it was Kairi's, or just took a complete guess by giving it to her. Or before Ansem the Wise left the REalm of Nothingness, he found it and gave it to Riku.

Naw. I believe Kairi's keyblade was just one of Riku's "Drive" keyblades. It was only for that battle and doesn't really count. After all, she did not use hers to help open the door to Xemnas and her keyblade is never seen after that one scene. Especially considering it was not summoned by her, I would say it holds no plot significance.

i doubt they will give her a keyblade for no reason and for only one battle

I think that is a very logical theory, and I hope that we do figure out where Kairi's keyblade came from in Days. I believe I may have seen a theory similar to this on another website, but I can't remember what it was...

They could've. Maybe the creators got bored and just said "Hey! Let's give Kairi a keyblade!" But I doubt that. xD

I second this. It is logical, and I think actually very likely. Days is also probably the most likely place we will learn about Kairi's Keyblade, just because of the setting and the time it took place.

I know I've seen this theory mentioned on the Kingdom Hearts Wiki site, but I haven't looked for it anywhere else.

    Almost everything is wrong.
First, there are as many Keyblades as qualified hearts.

Second,No,Realms didn't chose to who the keyblade goes, and Riku,Kairi and Sora keyblades are from the realm of light,Mickey's the only from the realm of darkness.

Third,Riku just summoned the keyblade for Kairi, the Keyblade is hers, okay, but she doesn't have enough strength to summon it alone(Or maybe she just doesn't know how) that why she never used it again.

Fourth,Way to Dawn is Soul Eater,Riku just(somehow)turned it into a keyblade, like Xehanort Heartless turned it into a Spear once, but i'm not completely sure about this one,for me Riku is the true Keyblade Master, and because of that he can manioulate the keyblades how he wants,or something like that.

And Roxas uses the same Keyblade(The Kingdom Key) as Sora(strange tough,he even uses it at the same time as Sora),and when he's Dual-Wielding,we don't know if those keyblades are his nobody weapons or real keyblades.

Well, I think what he's saying is that each realm has a version of each Keyblade. For example, KK is the Light Realm's version, IKK is the Dark Realm's version, and so there must be one that goes to Twilight. But if my interpretation of his theory is wrong, then yes, the whole thing is wrong. For one, there is no Realm of Nothing. However, what can be called the RoN is whatever is left after each Realm ends (At a boundary.)
Here's a quick little diagram that I drew up a while ago to explain it.

This probably isn't how it works, but you get the idea.

In reality, Kairi doesn't have a Keyblade. Riku lent her that Keyblade for protection against the Heartless.

If that was indeed her Keyblade, it wouldn't have been given to her by someone.

Riku picked flowers before he gave it to Kairi, glued it on a yellow pole and there you have it :D.

Well, that's what Ansem called it, but that doesn't mean it was really a "realm." More like a world. Thus, the "World of Nothing", where Sora and Riku fought Xemnas. That's probably where he was. If you refer to my diagram, Nothing is just everything that is beyond the realms.

Kairi shouldn't get a keyblade to be honest.
It still haunts me that Riku kept that in his coat.

I think Kairi is just another damsel in distress story sadly.....I mean, if Kairi has a keyblade, why doesn't Namine wield one as well? Honestly, I don't think Kairi is anything other then a princess of heart....but at the same time...Xion does wield a keyblade...but who says she has anything to do with Kairi?
