Justin Bieber is a male. I'm not getting into this again.

 

Male is her sex, feminine is her gender. I know a female man, so why can't Justin Bieber be a male girl?

 

Justin Bieber is in no way feminine. You realize he's straight, right?

 

Are pronouns supposed to match the sex or the gender? I can see reasoning for both, but yeah, serious question.

I'm not saying we should all like the same things, in fact I encourage people to branch out into their own interests, however I do not think that when I am making this judgement that I am being even the slightest bit subjective, meaning that our differing tastes is not what is causing me to make this opinion, but you have to admit that a 21 year old male who likes Justin Bieber, goes on and on about Nickelodeon, cries at the end of iCarly, posts Fred Christmas songs, and so on has a weird, albeit boldly unique, taste.

I'm not saying you shouldn't like the things you like, I'm just saying that based on a collective conception of what is generally conceived as normal, your taste in not normal, and that's fine.

 

Well, I wouldn't say "in no way." It's gotten better now, but his voice was definitely feminine when he first started out. Without making fun of him, I legitimately thought I was listening to a lesbian love song when I first heard him on the radio. Also, his face is too smooth and shaped femininely. Not trying to make fun of him, seriously, just saying.

 

Justin Bieber is feminine in a lot of ways. Or at least feminine in the traditional sense of the word.

And fyi, a lot of 'femme' guys can still be straight.

I think you mean heterosexual. The female man that I know is straight in the sense that he is attracted to men, but heterosexual in that he is attracted to males.

I think the pronoun should match the gender. Sex is purely biological, and pronouns, at least in reference to people, refer to who they are rather than what. Would you refer to HAL 9000 as "it" or "he?"

Your sentence seems to be missing a subject, verb, direct object, and all necessary punctuation and capitalization.

 

When he first started, he had just started and was going through puberty. Like with anyone, his voice sounded a lot different than it does now.

Heterosexual means you're attracted to females...

 

Heterosexuality refers to a male and/or man being attracted to females or a female and/or woman being attracted to males. My friend (who is a female man), is attracted to males. He is heterosexual in that he is a female who is attracted to males, and gay in that he is a man who is attracted to males. Get it? I doubt it, seeing as how most people can't, but this is the simplest way that I can explain it.

His friend has a vagina but is psychologically a man. Sexually (referencing genitalia), his friend is straight because female body parts are attracted to male parts. By gender (referencing how his friend psychologically identifies), his friend is gay because it's a guy attracted to guys.

 

You are not defined by what you like, you like what you like based on who you are.

Your friend is gay, just because he likes men doesn't mean he's a woman.

unless you are leaving an important detail out, wording it in an unnecessarily convoluted way, or this is a unique situation and would require knowledge about it prior to this posting to fully understand.
