Justice League Beyond

The Justice League has been around for nearly a century now with most of its former member being dead or retired, its golden days have long since passed. One of the League's most influential members, Bruce Wayne, recently passed away. He did not leave the cowl empty however as his biological son and successor had already been trained to be Batman. As for the other members of the Justice League...

Wonder Woman had grown tired of the superhero business and upon seeing a man as great as Bruce Wayne fall to old age rather than die a heroic death, she quit the Justice League and has since not been heard from again. The Martian Manhunter had also retired from the League but for different reasons, he had left to the far reaches of the galaxy when he found a way to revive his species. Other heroes such as Big Barda, the Green Lantern Kai-Ro, Doctor Light, and Micron were all killed in action over the years during encounters with various supervillains.

By this time, Superman realized that the League couldn't stand on its own with so few members and sought out suitable new heroes to add to their ranks. He found only two, a Green Lantern who had been chosen by Kai-Ro's own ring and a hero called Firestorm. They were added under the title of the "Justice Cadets" where they would be trained by the core members of the Justice League to better integrate them into the group.

After a year, Static who had just turned 80 felt that it was time to retire from the League to spend more time with his own family, a lesson he made sure Batman would never forget. Just at that time, both Firestorm and the new Green Lantern had been promoted to full-time Justice League members which only gave Static more of a reason to return home where he kept an eye on things in his own state.

Currently, the Justice League is still recruiting members though Superman is doing most of the work as he is the most recognizable and approachable of the bunch. Not many potential heroes would be so willing to join a group if someone as intimidating as Batman were to come to their front door.

While crime was on the rise once more with the weakened Justice League struggling to regain ground, the League found themselves an unexpected ally in the form of the former Robin of Bruce Wayne known as Jason Todd. At one point in his life he had gone rogue and become a sort of anti-hero known as the Red Hood who killed villains which flew in the face of everything Batman stood for. Though he should have aged considerable by this point in time, Jason had uncovered a fountain of youth called the Lazarus Pit. While once used by one of the most prominent enemies of both Bruce Wayne and Terry(the current Batman), Jason had managed to stumble upon it.

At first Batman was unwilling to trust a person like Jason but over time, he came to serve as an ally of the Justice League. Jason had apparently once been a member of the infamous League of Assassins but had shut down the order from the inside. At least...they all thought it had been taken down. Unknown to the heroes, the League of Assassins had gathered in secret and rebuilt from the ground up with many new members all with grudges against the Justice League. Though they have yet to reveal themselves...their three leaders (known as "The Triad") have already set in motion a plan that would destroy the forces of good forever.

Bio: Ivan was a scientist who had become obsessed with the former Doctor Lightâ€™s abilities. Not the member of the Justice League, but the namesake of the hero who had once been one of their greater enemies. He had wished to study how one could control light in such a way as to use it as a weapon. Though the villain was dead, a woman within the Justice League who had taken the same alias had become Ivanâ€™s target to further his research.
Ivan had set up a trap for the hero and managed use a device of his own making to cancel out her own powers before killing her. It took him less than a year to find out how to duplicate such powers and created a suit that would allow him to do it. To prevent anyone from separating him from his precious abilities, he managed to permanently fuse the suit to his own body. Since then he has been known by Doctor Light.

Bio: Maxwell Raines was born, grew up, and operates in Central City, otherwise known as home of the original Flash (and his successors), the Scarlet Speedster. His mother was a scientist at the Flash Museum, a museum that honors the Flash legacy. Her biggest research project was trying to tap into the Speed Force, the source of power for speedsters. Maxwell's dad was a Central City cop. When Max was 15 years old, his mother was killed by the new Captain Cold (the original Captain Cold was a trademark villain of the Flash). Captain Cold had broken into the museum and attempted to take all of the weapons from Flash's original enemies, but was only able to grab Captain Cold's "Cold Guns" before security came. A fight broke out and Max's mom died in the battle. The new Captain Cold was captured and revealed to be a high profile business owner. Cold used his money and ties to escape prosecution. It was shortly after that the new Captain Cold grew into his position, using his money to buy alibis and excuses while committing crimes. Max could remember his father telling him, "Sometimes, Max, you have to go outside the law." It was shortly after that a new Flash (Beyond) appeared. Flash Beyond used "Speed Force Plates" to tap into the Speed Force. Flash Beyond's first act of heroism was to quickly capture Captain Cold and every judge, lawyer, and prison warden that was tied to the Cold case (PUN). He threatened to destroy all of their lives if Captain Cold wasn't arrested and fairly tried. Flash Beyond then started going after criminals in a much more brutal way than the original, using force and even killing some. The public praised the Flash for getting rid of crime and corruption, but the authorities branded him an outlaw. Roughly a year ago, the Flash was fighting an escaped Captain Cold. He lost the fight and was fatally injured, escaping to his HQ. Maxwell came home that night to find the Flash unmasked and dying in his home; it was his father. His father told him to go into the garage and look behind a cabinet. His last words were "Outside the law, Max. Remember...outside the law..." When Max looked in the garage, he found a secret door. On the other side was a small laboratory. Max found a computer and realized his father had used his late mother's research on the Speed Force to create the Speed Force Plates, hovering plates connected to the Speed Force and became the new Flash. Maxwell tried them but realized they were tuned to his dad's specific body and DNA (which he only had half of). However, he was able to use both of his parents' research notes to construct the Flash Cycle, a motorcycle powered by the Speed Force Plates, and a helmet that was also connected to the Speed Force. Using these, he became Max Speed, the next incarnation of the Flash. Like his father before him, Max Speed works outside the law, treating criminals like the scum they are.
Equipment:

The Flash Cycle: The red motorcycle of Max Speed. It's powered by the Flash's Speed Force Plates which lets it connect to the Speed Force, giving it super speed. Using its speed, it's able to defy gravity and move as fast as the speed of sound.

Flash Helmet: Max Speed's helmet is also connected to the Speed Force. It has a computer that gives him different statistics and information (though not a lot as Maxwell isn't a programmer). The rest of Max Speed's suit is made of Speed Force and comes into being when he dons his helmet.

Nightstick: Like most cops, Max Speed wields a nightstick. The nightstick is custom made with a taser attached to the end.

Increased reflexes and speed while in the Max Speed suit. The speed is confined to reflexes so Max Speed can't run superfast, but is able to punch and kick superfast.

OOC: So this RP has taken a lot longer than I expected to actually start up. Give yourselves some time to quickly glance over the OCs, the rules, and the story since it's been a long while.

IC:

The Batmobile flew high above the streets of the city as Batman took his nightly watch, the white slits of his mask staring into the monitor of the vehicle as it sped past the many high rise buildings. He wasn't in a good mood today. Not only had he missed out on his only chance to go looking for an anniversary gift for his wife but...

"You sure it was a good idea to send one of those Cadets out to handle it?"

"Don't worry. Pinpoint will have Warhawk at his side. The two should probably be wrapping it up for the police by now. You really take after him, don't yo-"

"Hang on. I've got something in my sights. ...This doesn't look good. I'll talk to you later." Batman ended the call with Superman, the current leader of the Justice League. He pushed a button to turn the Batmobile invisible as he positioned the vehicle to hover over the roof of a building. Beneath him was a familiar gang that he had countless battle against. It was the Jokerz, a clown-themed group of hooligans who were a terrible bunch of copies of the original villain. He shook his head slowly. They never learned. From what it looked like, they were bringing a large amount of unmarked containers up to the roof that had come from inside the building. It wasn't money and it definitely wasn't drugs.

'What are you up to?' Just before he could take action, he noticed something else. Doctor Light stepped out of the doorway and onto the roof. He had been ordering the Jokerz around apparently. He must have threatened them since this gang was not the type to take orders from anybody but their own. Batman clenched his fist, this was the man who had murdered the superhero from the Justice League of the same alias.

"Careful with that you useless idiots! If I find even one of the containers damaged I'll make sure you'll have your last laugh in your grave!" The Jokerz flinched at his threat and continued piling the containers on the roof until they had brought the last onto it. It was at this moment Doctor Light looked straight up into the air and at the position where the Batmobile hovered overhead. "You should know better than to use a cheap trick like that on the master of light, Batman!" Doctor Light raised his palm into the air and shot a powerful blast of energy straight at the Batmobile, causing it to go visible...and plummet to the ground.

"Quickly now! Get a move on while I make sure to that this annoyance does not come back from the dead again." Underneath the metal containers a floating truck materialized. Doctor Light had been keeping it invisible the entire time. He leaped off the roof and down to the streets below where Batman was barely recovering from the hasty crash landing he had just made. This time, Doctor Light would finish him off.

Emily wrapped her coat tight around her as she walked down the streets quickly. She was still getting used to this new enviroment, it was so different to the isolated little island where she'd spend most of her life. She was learning, bit by bit but she still found it all a bit strange. It was one of the first time's she'd been out during the night, she normally kept herself hidden from the world but this trip had been unavoidable. There was something sinister about the night her but yet there was something oddly comforting about it, she liked the quiet the night brought. It was never truely dark here though and she missed all the stars she could see from home. She shuddered, it was still better here, home only equalled more punishments. She did not feel like she belonged in the city, however.

She jumped back in shock as something suddenly crashed down in front of her. She automatically vanished, turning invisible to hide herself from any dangers in the night. Though invisible, she crept forward to see what it was and she could barely believe her eyes when she saw it was a man. No, not just any man, batman. BATMAN. Even Emily, who still knew very little of the world knew who the batman was and right now, he seemed to be hurt. "Are you alright?" She asked, her quiet voice which was almost a whisper, echoed around him but she remained invisible.

As the Flash Cycle sped through the streets of Central City, all civilians could see was a red and yellow blur. Citizens cheered at the sight and several tried to record their hero, but he was too quick. How could you record someone with superspeed? Someone you don't see or hear coming and only see a blur as they pass by?

It was late in the night as Max Speed patrolled. He had finally perfected the Flash Cycle's "Speed Force Sound Barrier" (or at least, accurately implemented his parents' notes). Now, whenever he supersped by civilians, they received no loud boom or gust of wind as long as the barrier was in place. By giving the "hero" and his ride a barrier of solid Speed Force around them, all of the sound stayed in, as well as the wind, and was absorbed by the wheels of the Flash Cycle. Surrounding people only heard a loud buzz as he drove by. The Flash Cycle was mostly driven by him, but there was a constant semi-auto-pilot. His helmet was synched with the cycle and took care of little stuff such as swerving slightly to miss obstacles, perfecting turns, etc. Through the visor, Max Speed was fed visual information simultaneously at two different speeds: the "Flash Helmet" showed him everything as it happened, in super speed, allowing his reflexes and the helmet itself to pilot the Flash Cycle while also showing him everything in slow motion in small flashes, allowing his brain to correctly process information and allowing him to pilot his Flash Cycle. Max didn't understand it entirely, but he could see and understand the world around him, no matter how fast he was going, and that was all he had to know.

Max Speed, clad in his trademark red and yellow, drove straight towards a skyscraper. Beneath his mask, his lips formed a grin. Here we go! He thought as pulled the handlebars up. On command, the Flash Cycle took to the air, jumping over a parked car, and landed vertically on the skyscraper. He loved this part. It only took a millisecond for Max Speed to rev up the motorcycle, causing it to take off (once again, in a blur) upwards towards the building's rooftops. During his first few weeks as Max Speed, the young hero had shattered many windows by "riding walls," but now that he had installed the Speed Force Sound Barrier, the windows simply shook. As he neared the roof's edge, the Flash Helmet showed him a heat source near him. Perfect. Knew I'd find you here.

Gotham City was never asleep. Noises from outside the window of her apartment engulfed the four walls of her room. She simply laid on her bed with her super-suit on and stared up at her ceiling, while above all the noise, her radio transmitted news about what was going on around the city. She wore quite a blank expression, but it was obvious Nicky was at least slightly upset.

Outside of her normal life, the city people knew her as Blaze. That fiery nineteen year old from the Justice League! Well, not just yet at least. She was recruited by Superman but she was still undergoing training. However, today, she was tasked with absolutely nothing - even though some of her other team mates were. That's what has been bothering her quite a bit, and the fact that no crimes have really caught her attention yet - or at least the radio was much too late about them. 'I may not be as quick or as skilled as the others. But I could have really helped today. What a bummer.' she thought of herself poorly. She really wanted to go out on the job today, she was ready! And she knew the city was ready for her.

Indeed, the city was. Suddenly, Nicky heard a loud crash from outside of her window. She quickly leaped out of her bed and ran quickly to take a peek outside. Jackpot! A huge grin ran across her face as her eyes laid on a wrecked Batmobile and other things - including the villain, Doctor Light. This was her chance! Maybe they'd put her into a better place for missions. She quickly ran back into her room and put on her gloves. She made her way to the desk and shut off the radio, "You good for nothing radio. The city's already calling me and here you are lying around talking about other such things..." She gave the little device a small sigh then quickly ran out her door, closing it behind her and running as fast as she could to the crash site. She ran out her building and sped past the number of people who walked through the streets. She could already see the wreck from where she was at and increasingly covered the distance between herself and them. She smirked,

"Time to heat this baby up."

For any ordinary person,moving across the rooftops may be something difficult for the ordinary person but in Zane case it's something he's been train to do ever since he was young. While he wasn't wearing his uniform, he had on a jacket of the same color and some jeans which still games his the freedom to move around as he wanted. Maybe today I'll find something to do. He thought to himself, right before he was blinded a flash of light. Then next thing he knew there was a bat like plane on the ground.As he took a closer look at it, he almost instantly recognized who it belonged to. Never thought I's see the Batman here. Considering who it was, Zane figured he could handle himself, it not then he was willing to give some assistance.

OOC: Sorry for taking so long. A few people never posted and I was all :/8D: about it but whatever. Posting now~

BIC:

Terry, no...Batman, shook his head slowly upon hearing a voice different from Doctor Light's. His vision was dazed from they heavy crash landing. Even with the batsuit he was still just a human. He looked over at the girl who had spoken to him and narrowed his eyes which (somehow) showed by the same reaction happening to the white slits on his mask. "Yeah. You better get out of here. Lightshow over there is going to be a big problem." Batman extended his hand which drew out a batarang.

"Go on! This is too dangerous for you." Batman shouted as he threw the batarang at Doctor Light before rolling towards the side and firing two more from his the shooters on the back of his hands.

Doctor Light grinned as he readied himself for Batman's first strike. The hero moved much slower than what he had normally seen from him. The crash must have done some serious damage, much to his delight. A barrier of light intercepted the first projectile. He knew better than to hit it with an attack of his own. Sure enough, the batarang exploded and shook the ground at his feet. Something like that would have knocked him out for sure. The barrier even blocked the next two batarangs which bounced harmlessly off of it. "Come now, Batman. Is that the best you've got? Allow me to shed some light on how it's really done!" As he spoke the light from his barrier shattered and the shards flew straight towards Batman and the girl who had come to his aid.

'No!' Batman didn't know that this girl had any powers. He assumed she was just a civilian. With a quick reaction of his own, the jets in his boots ignited as he flew towards Emily and knocked her out of the range of Doctor Light's attack. Batman ended up taking nearly the full brunt of the onslaught and fell down, his own suit now being badly damaged. "Ugh..." He pushed his hands down on the ground and struggled to get up. Even despite the punishment, the Dark Knight could still stand, but just barely. Doctor Light had killed one of the core members of the Justice League without powers. It was no surprise that with his suit he was providing to be a challenge to Batman even in the first minute of combat.

Pinpoint ran through the streets of Metropolis aiming his bow and arrow at a robot.He shot the arrow and as soon as hit the robot it exploded. The streets were covered with them "What are these things Warhawk" Pinpoint said through his com-devise."According to Superman they were created by his foe Toyman but he is supposedly dead." Warhawk was flying above Pinpoint a few flying robots on his tail. "Got any ideas because i don't see a off switch." "Warhawk these robots are old and without someone to control them It could mean there connected somehow" Pinpoint jumped over a car and shot a arrow in mid air "Think your onto something kid a little shock could take them all down"". Pinpoint smiled and grabbed a electric arrow out of his bag he shot the arrow at the next robot he saw. The robot was literally shocked as the arrow hit him and a second later all the other robots shutdown. Warhawk watched at the robots that were chasing him through the skies dropped onto the roofs of the city. Pinpoint clicked a button on his com "Superman mission accomplished robots are scrap metal."

As Zane continued to watch Batman battle with Doctor Light,he took notice that he seemed to be on the losing side on this battle. Even the greatest of hero's can use a hand once in a while. Holding out his arm he formed a medium size shard of ice in his hand and aimed it at Doctor Light. Once he saw that he had a clear shot, he launched it right at Doctor Light and moved to some cover, knowing full well that doing this would give away his location.

All of the sudden, Nicky felt very satisfied that she decided to stop before jumping straight into action even though she was incredibly eager to join in on it. Batman was getting hurt - pounded even. This looked very bad from where she was standing, which really wasn't all that far away. She began to whisper under her breath encouraging words for the Bat - almost like the times she would watch the television news as a kid when the other superheroes would be fighting crime. She always found herself jumping up and dancing when the superheroes won the battle. Unfortunately, Nicky had this horrible gut feeling that today would be one of those rare days when she wouldn't find herself jumping up and dancing but instead ending up in tears. It frightened her.

'I've seen this guy before. B-but... I've forgot him! No! Why now? I could be there fighting alongside the friggin' Batman but here I am doing nothing. And he's getting beaten to a pulp! I need to join in soon, but when? And how? Oh goodness, this is SUCH a conundrum.'

She bit her bottom lip as she continued to watch with her body tense and her gloved hands tightened to fists so hard that she felt her nails dig into her skin. Suddenly, Batman leaped to the side of the road and took in a full blow from the villain. Nicky took a sharp intake of breath. What just happened? She was so incredibly confused on why Batman so clearly and willingly ran into that shot for absolutely no reason. Nothing was there on that side of the road and because of that, Batman was sure to be crushed the next time around. This was probably it. This was her cue. To solidify that thought even more, a shard of ice came flying from a direction that headed straight towards the villain. There were others here too. They could take this mad man down! She was definitely not alone!

Immediately, Nicky moved over to a closer position to the foe, careful to still keep an aspect of stealth. She pulled her gloves down to a more comfortable and accurate fit and waited for the mysterious shard of ice to make contact. She had a plan in mind. This was gotham, the city that never sleeps, and that meant a lot of things could get very heated up even at the cooling comfort of the night. Perhaps, even with a bit of help, those things could simply go kaboom.

Max Speed's motorcycle took to the air when it hit the roof's edge. 'There you are,'he thought as the bike began to fall. On the rooftop was a man, dressed in orange spandex, holding some kind of gun. Beneath his helmet, Max Speed grinned. "Action time," he whispered as he revved up his bike. Though it was in the air, the Flash Cycle sped up, falling much quicker.

"No, no...I'm not getting taken down by some wannabe!" The orange-clad villain yelled, raising his gun and firing a stream of flames right at Max Speed.

The Flash Cycle swerved out of the way, and within a micro-second, was stopped right in front of the villain. "I'm the wannabe?" Max Speed asking, using his reflexes to quickly grab the flame-thrower. "Don't make me laugh, Heatstroke," he responded, backhanding the surprised villain, knocking him onto his back. "I'm not the one who broke into the Flash Museum and jacked Heatwave's heat-guns, am I?" He dropped the gun and stood up, the Flash Cycle quieting down as he did. He stepped off, kicking the gun so the villain couldn't retrieve it. "Or am I the one using the exact lame costume Heatwave used? Or coming up with some lame pun that mimics his name because I'm not smart enough to come up with something else? Nope, that's not me," he said stepping towards the villain, who was crawling backwards to avoid the ass-beating he was sure to get it. "What? You think 'Heatstroke' sounds shway? Ha!"

Heatstroke scowled as he reached the edge of the roof, his crawling obstructed by the ledge. If he wasn't injured from his earlier battle with Max Speed..."Damn it," he growled. "You think I'm scared of some Power Ranger reject?" He said, his eyes narrowing towards his pursuer.

Beneath his helmet, Max Speed grinned once again. He reached behind his back, pulling out his custom-nightstick. With the press of a button, electricity started flowing from it. "Well...you got the 'power' part right."

Grundy had been sent with Doctor Light as muscle to help steal the containers, and to make sure everything went smoothly. Grundy was now growing tired of waiting on the Doctor, so he decided to rush the Doc along. He got up from his seat and punched open the doors to the truck."Grundy grow tired of waiting on Doctor. Grundy want to go now!" Grundy was looking around the rooftop for Doctor Light, but didn't see him. He then looked down to the street, and he could see him, and some others, but most notably the BATMAN.......Grundy had outstanding hatred for Batman, but of course Grundy didn't know know that the original Batman, Bruce, was dead and that this was a different one. Grundy had been dead at the time, has only recently resurrected not to long ago. He jumped down to the street causing a the ground around him where he landed to crumble and break."Grundy kill puny BATMAN!!

OOC: To amend what happened in my last post...

Since Midnight's character was invisible the entire time, a lot of my post doesn't make sense. Basically, what should have happened was that Batman still attacks Doctor Light. Doctor Light blocks and retaliates with the same "area-of-effect attack" that appeared in my previous post. Rather than having Batman lunge to save Midnight's character, Batman tries dodging and still gets hit. As for Midnight's character. She's still in range. Waiting on a reaction to see what happens to her.

BIC:

Before he could attack Batman once more, some other wannabe hero struck at him first. A barrier of light formed just as the shard of ice came close to hitting him. Despite being a genius and having some of the most dangerous powers of the current supervillains, Doctor Light was not infamous for his reaction time. The barrier was created too late and altered the course of the projectile just enough so that it cut at his side. Blood fell to the ground. "I'm going to kill whoever did that!" He shouted angrily, firing off a single beam of light straight at Zane's direction. In his anger, he completely ignored that Grundy had revealed himself due to impatience.

Doctor Light's attention was on someone else who had helped out. If that wasn't surprising enough, an old foe that Terry had only heard about appeared just before his eyes. Things weren't looking good. Bruce had told him of all his enemies he had battled and though they were sure Grundy would appear once again, he didn't think it would happen alongside someone like Doctor Light. 'When did those two hook up anyways?' Batman readied another Batarang. He threw it Grundy as it exploded just before reaching him, released nothing but liquid Nitrogen to freeze Grundy in his tracks to give himself time to recover.

As Grundy was about to charge the Batman, he had got hit with a batarang that explode on him, freezing him in liquid nitrogen. This would have been deadly lethal to anybody alive......good thing Grundy wasn't. He stood there, frozen, not being able to move for a little bit. Then he started to blink is eyes and flexing his muscles. The ice was starting to crack around his body freeing him from his encasement. It took him a little bit, but Grundy finally managed to burst from the ice and give a loud yell before charging the Batman."Grundy angry!! Grundy kill Batman!!"Grundy may be a giant sulking behemoth, but that doesn't make him slow. Grundy can be pretty mobile for his size. He ran up to the Batman, and with his giant hand that was about half the size of Batman, backhanding him

BIC:

Batman took in a deep breath. Grundy was frozen in place for now. He took his moment to regain his composure despite his wounds and the damage the batsuit had sustained. He readied another batarang, knowing that someone like Grundy would not be stopped by a simple trick like that. At any time he only carried one of those so it really was a one-time move. Batarangs like that took time to make.

Grundy broke free just as he expected as he readied to throw the batarang. Either Grundy moved faster than he anticipated or the damage to his suit began to hinder his movement, the result was the same. Batman didn't react fast enough and found himself flying back at least a hundred feet, making a sizable dent into a parked car that stopped him midair. "Why did you have to make so many enemies, old man?" He groaned as he pushed himself back to his feet. Now that Grundy had put some distance between the two, Batman took his chance and threw the explosive batarang right at Grundy.

It missed. The projectile exploded just inches behind Grundy as it hit a power line. Under his mask Terry grinned. 'This should slow him down.' Wires fell towards Grundy and when they would make contact, they would give this immortal villain the shocking of a lifetime...or several.

Grundy was slowly walking towards the Batman when he saw that he just threw a batarang at him. Grundy extended his arm out to catch the batarang before it hit him, but he flew past him and exploded. Grundy smiled at his foe's poor aim, but Grundy wasn't aware of the power lines that the Batman had got with the explosion. Grundy kept walking slowly towards him, when he got hit by the power lines."WAAAAHHhhhhhhhhh,GRRRRRrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!"Grundy yelled out as the lines were electrocuting him. He reached over and grabbed the lines and threw them off of him."RRAaaaaawr!Grundy picked up a car that was next to him and chunked the crap out of it towards Batman.

Emily did not know what to do as she watched the fight. Unbeknownst to everyone else she'd been stood in the middle of the battle field, invisible for most of the battle so far. She wasn't used to life in the city and this was completely overwhelming. She stood there frozen as she watched Batman get hit. He seemed to be struggling but he was batman, which to her just seemed to go against the laws of nature. She watched in horror as Grundy joined in, her hope rose as batman got a few shots in but still, this was wrong. She debated in her mind if she should help out, but she wasn't a hero, what could she do?

Her mind was made up in an instant when Grundy threw the car, she was not let him get hurt again. In a split second she was behind Batman and placing her hands on his hips. She remained silent but phased with him, meaning the incoming car went straight through the two of them. As she did that she knew exactly what she could do, she could fight. Fighting was easy, it was simple and she didn't have to worry about complicated city things. She'd spent most of her life learning how to fight and anyway, they couldn't even touch her. She might be able to actually have a purpose and do some good for once. Unseen by anyone, a smile appeared on her new face, with a new sense of confidence about her.

"What's wrong, big man?!" Max Speed asked as he pummeled Heatstroke with his electrified nightstick. Though electricity was running through it, it was only a small amount; enough to shock an enemy for only a second. After all, Max Speed wasn't immune to electricity. "Why are you moving so slow? Huh? HUH? HUH?!" With each "huh," he struck Heatstroke, evading all counter attacks. It wasn't difficult; his costume was connected to the Speed Force and thus gave his reflexes super speed. Heatstroke, on the other hand, was a normal middle-aged man who could probably use some exercise. "Having a stroke? Is that it? Well, fine!" He backhand the wannabe villain and dropped his own weapon. "I'm tired of playing around anyway. Time for the real reason I'm here." Max Speed bent over to where Heatstroke was lying, panting in pain. He grabbed the villain's orange spandex by the torso with both hands. He grunted as he slammed the flame-themed villain against the wall of the roof-access door. There was a hard thud. "I saw the security footage of your little break-in. You weren't alone," the 'hero' stated, lowering his voice. "But you were the one most out of shape. The one least skilled. The rookie," he pulled Heatstroke closer and then slammed into the wall again. "Those guys you were with, on the other hand, now they were pros."

He recalled the footage in his heads: Heatstroke (or at least the man who would call himself that) had broken into the Flash Museum late last night with a small group of others. The others were all dressed the same, wielding swords. Max thought they resembled ninjas. While Heatstroke watched, the others easily took out the security guards even dodging bullets, and not with superspeed. Max Speed had never seen anything like it in Central City...and he didn't want scum like that here.

"I'm only going to ask one, Strokey, ol'pal," Max asked in a low, almost growling voice that echoed from within his helmet, "Who were those guys?"

"Go... to... Hell," Heatstroke replied through gasps as he spit on Max Speed's helmet.

Pinpoint was very tired after the attack of ancient robots. They weren't that tough but all that jumping around still tired him out. It was weird being a part of the famous Justice League and not being that great. He was nothing special all he could do is jump and shoot an arrow. He was playing around with his com when he heard several explosions and a roar. What was going on? He pushed his teleported several times "Come on you worthless piece of junk." The last time it worked it teleported him into the ocean. The teleporter finally blinked and Pinpoint found himself on a Gotham rooftop. "Thank you" he said to the machine on his wrist. "Batman i'm about 3 blocks away need some help?" he said as he jumped across building to building. He didn't think Batman liked him that much but he would help him if he need it. "Seems like the sky is falling tonight."

The one problem Zane found when he tried to avoid Doctor Light's attack was the lack of cover. Since he was on the ledge when he fired his attack the closest thing he had was the door which wasn't close enough for him to get their before the attack hit. So he made a basic shield out of ice to protect him from the attack. While it did shield him from the attack, the ice that was shattered from the blast left him with some cuts. Well, so much for stealth. Considering that Doctor Light knew that here was in the area and the general location that he was at, Zane decided it was time to take the fight to him. Forming himself a mask to cover his mouth and a imitation short sword out of ice and headed again towards the ledge and jumped towards the ground.
