I want to post this before I go, I need advice on what to do.

-The breakup (Which hit me REALLY hard. Just so you know, we're still on speaking terms.)
-Family issues (My uncle was shot about a month ago, and my 16-year-old cousin being pregnant.)
-School (I don't really have friends there, my grades are average.)
-Mental issues (Does the word 'Schadenfreude' bring light to this part?)
-Emotional issues (First on the list should help with this part.)

The "get a hobby" stuff doesn't really work out. I'm at the point in depression where I feel as if I don't want to do anything. It's a wonder I'm actually on here.
I'm going to try to get professional help. My parents want to send me to a local mental hospital (they said for 6 weeks at the most, and I REALLY do not want that), but I'm pretty certain all I need is therapy (not sitting in a mental asylum) and they're just going a bit too extreme.

So... any advice on how to cope with depression?
Also, I'm considering getting my anti-depressants out again. They don't have the best effect in the world, but hey, I can try them again I guess. Should I?

Please, I really do need some advice and help here.
Thank you, I really do appreciate any comments. Thank you so much.

Well first, it really seems like you need someone of professional expertise to talk to. (That's what I'm doing right now for my problems)
It's never good to keep things bottled up. As for the friends, perhaps you could join a club or a sport and meet others that way.
For your family, the best solution is to be there. Your family can be your greatest friend in crisis, and they will always love you no matter what, and I do hope you feel the same toward them.
And as for the anti-depressant, first I would check the expiration date, to ensure they aren't expired. And if you don't like the side-affects, then perhaps that drug isn't for you.

Hope some of this stuff helps.

Last time I took a dose was around June, I got the medicine itself around May. I'm pretty sure they aren't expired haha. Thank you though, your advice helps. :)

Although I think a mental hospital is more than you need they aren't as bad as people make it out to be. I've got friends who aren't very stable emotionally and have been through them a few times. They don't talk about it much, but one friend described it to me as a bad summer camp designed by therapists. I'm not sure how accurate or normal that is, but while I don't think it is the best choice for you I wouldn't make that one of your stressors outside of it being a weird thing that you haven't done before.

But I do think you should see a professional.

I still think it's a bit too much, but I know they're not THAT bad..
Yes, I think I need professional help as well.

Thank you for the feedback :)
