I can't stand Bosch either, but in most cases the shows that he's in all have terrible voice actors.

    I haven't read the books :O
If they do localize them, or I happen to find them somewhere, then I will definitely have to.
If something is going on with Izaya o.o...........must read.

    =P

Yeah, he's in a really bad situation last I read. See, he got injured in kind of a debilitating way. He and the event that caused said injury were on the news. To make things worse, he's now in a public hospital the name of which was also on the news. Did I mention that he's made a lot more enemies since the point where the anime left off?

Then you're not thinking hard enough.

The reason dubs sound the way they do is because they're trying to emulate the Japanese voice actors. They don't go for realism; they go for over-the-top theatrics, booming voices, and say-what-you-feel syndrome. That may be appealing to some, but it also makes it difficult to take seriously at times. If you like the seiyuus better, it's because you don't have the luxury of speaking the language they're dramatizing, so you don't know how ridiculous it sounds to a casual speaker. That's why Japanese fans of Code Geass have said they prefer Johnny Bosch's Lelouch to their own. The only real difference overseas is that most English-speaking countries don't have quite the same volume of ham actors, due to it being less of a focus in our media. So sometimes it's hard for localization teams to find a voice that perfectly fits a particular character, or gives off the same vibe as their seiyuu counterpart.

Funny you should mention that in particular. I hate Haruhi's English VA, and I love her seiyuu.

I'm glad you finally got into it, I've been waiting.

DRRR!! is one of the only animes that I know of that does not have one central character, and does not favor some over others.

    YOU HAVE GOOD TASTE, CAT

Also, I started watching Blue Exorcist.

Try Baccano!. It's DRRR!!'s big brother. Except instead of superpowered gangsters and crime lords in modern-day Ikebukuro, it's immortal mobsters and hitmen in the Prohibition-era U.S. It also has Makaze's favorite character ever.
