A few extras that Square Enix clearly didn't want my money for anyways? No, not really. There are better games that actually make it here

and as long as we're talking about khfm, $30-$40 for an import is not bad. and unless you bought 3 copies of madden '99 there aren't many games worth having that you could get 3 of for less than $30-$40. and even if there are $30-$40 doesn't take too long to save so

because reading menus makes playing the game totally impossible
and online translation faqs dont exist

That's new. And black label.
I payed $40 for Ultimate Hits new and $35 for black label used. I payed $30 for KHFM black label used.
These were from eBay and Amazon except for the Ultimate Hits one which was from some other website.
I payed $40 for equipment to mod my PS2. And by mod I mean switch the lid and get Swap Magic discs.
So I payed 3/4 that for the game + the equipment needed to play it.
Unless you refuse to mod your console for some reason, there's really no reason you should be paying that much.
BBSFM cost me $60 which was too much but w/e I wanted it.

And I know you disagree but KH2FM+ is worth it imo. It's the definitive way to play KH2. I can't go back to KH2 now that I have KH2FM+ because it's missing so much. KHFM is fun but it doesn't really add enough to warrant buying it unless you're collecting. Same with BBSFM, which also has the added headache of having a command deck which makes playing it a little more frustrating than the others, but you get used to it. At least I did.

Point is there's no reason you should be paying $120 when eBay and Amazon exist and this thread is too long.

 

No way, KH2FM is definitely a GREAT package. I played it in full on an emulator with a widescreen patch. THAT'S definitive. I still like grinding in KH2 better though, because getting lucky rings is the biggest pain ever in KH2FM. It's a great value, for sure, but not really worth the pain of setup and still very high price

but that's definitely cheating getting it used. The game is nearing a decade old now, and costs 40 dollars? I could get DOZENS of PS2 games from that era for 40 bucks. Heck, I could get newer games used on Ebay and still get a couple for 40 bucks

Say what you will about Final Mix+ it IS the superior Kingdom Hearts 2 no matter how you look at it.

 

Cheating because you say that you can't get new games for that price. But if you compare something similar, ie used PS2 games from 2006... then you cna buy TONNES of games for that price.

It's like Dissidia and Dissidia Duodecim. Objectively, Duodecim is better. But I don't like all the changes made in Duodecim, like how they made chases pretty much a waste of time.
KH2FM is a weaker example, since I do prefer FM (dem Org fights) but I LOATH how much harder they made grinding in this game.

 

You said nothing about importing new games, you only mentioned that they were too expensive, to which I said there are cheap ways.

Anyway the point is playing kh2fm+ with a language patch might as well be a sin and you should be ashamed

And that doesn't even scratch the surface of all the less-noticeable changes made, most notably new abilities. Which is really the only reason I keep coming back to it rather than KH2.

How many games are there that you want that you could get for that much? I said games worth having. Of all the games I want I could get maybe two for that price. Of course I could get a ton of games for like a dollar each but I'm not interested in any of them and the fact that they're a dollar shows that practically no one else is either. And if there are games that you want for a dollar my point still stands, that $40 doesn't take long to save and if you don't want kh2fm+ anyway it's not an issue for you so

So that's what I found searching KH and FF on the EB Games website. Comes to 39.50.
Or, for an extra ten bucks you could get PlayStation Plus, that's dozens of games too.
Assassin's Creed Liberation HD is 20 bucks. Indie games are dirt cheap, Humble Bundles offer plenty of games for whatever price you want

 

It all adds up

 

Well the general complaint with Kingdom Hearts 2 in the first place was that even on Proud mode it was far too easy.
So naturally they added Critical Mode and made it harder to grind so that you would have to actually use SKILL when you fight instead of fighting the same enemies over and over in the Underdrome until you get Ability X

Also you could save up money for a good PC and then not have to pay for ANY of those

 

I think Critical Mode makes it easier unless you stay level 1 (then it's just cheap difficulty) because it gives you so much AP, but that's just me.
But yeah, I'm talking item grinding. No weapons in KH2FM give you Lucky Lucky, and Sora doesn't learn it anymore, plus you don't get a Lucky Ring from the tournament like in KH2. The only way to get the same number of Lucky Luckys is to synthesize Lucky Rings, which requires beating a secret boss... Terra I think?
So it just makes finding materials a pain :/
(Never mind those materials you get form heartless minigames and ONLY heartless minigames. Those sucked in H1FM too)

I beat the game on Proud without it.

I actually didn't know that you could level up your drive forms to get new abilities when I played the game the first time around.
