Wow so this is how Windows 8 looks like. Is this a tablet, laptop or PC?

The computer guy yesterday suggested waiting on Windows 8 until a lot of bugs are worked out, which is what I told her beforehand.

Honestly, I suggest anyone else thinking of upgrading waits. It's one of the reasons I was on Windows XP for so long.

What version did you install? I'm planning on installing it on my laptop to see what it's like.

I want this. However, I'm gonna wait until the bugs are worked out, which means I probs won't get it until the summer.
It's supposed to work great for people who use pen tablets though, like I do.

I'm just curious about how it will work on PCs. I've heard it's a dream for touch screens or pads, but difficult with the traditional mouse and keyboard.

I really like the Metro design though, I'm a bit wary to try it out right now, just because from what I've seen and read, it's basically a fancy start screen slapped on top of a slightly improved Windows 7.

I'm using it on my laptop with just the traditional mouse and keyboard and I love it. I don't really feel compelled to get a touch screen device when using it.

I would say that's true, but the improvements are really nice. Everything feels snappier and faster. Plus I think the apps have a lot of potential.

    That's EXACTLY what it is.
The OS IS a tad faster but overall you're really not missing out on much.
