This movie makes me realize that we are in great need of more manime.

Evangelion? RahXephon? All good mech v. monster action, but too much whining and complaining.

HOW ABOUT A BROFIST AFTER A GIANT MONSTER KILL? HMM?

The only reason that film ever stood out for me was because it has the voice of GLaDOS in it (yeah, GLaDOS, not Ellen McLain >:3).

The concept artists lovingly crafted these beautiful ironwork titans from the ground up. They gave them each a unique feel, but kept them within a common visual continuity. Then the 3D crew actualized them; made massively detailed representations of the steel goliaths and gave them the ability to move and live. All the while, you're just waiting for some seven year old pop culture reference to giggle at. Way to appreciate the art form.

I've watched it again since it came out, and I still don't really care for it, but I've determined that my entire problem with the movie is the way it was edited. It's gorgeous, the acting is pretty good, and the scientists dudes are still hilarious. I just can't stand the way the scenes were edited. Some of it dragged on, some of it was too short, and they cut out a ton of stuff that I'd rather be watching than a twenty minute fight scene. Don't get me wrong, I love giant robots killing sh*t, but you really don't need a twenty minute fight scene lest you end up with an episode of Dragonball Z.

I love Pacific Rim. Cherno Alpha is my favorite Jaeger and Otachi my favorite Kaiju.

    And speaking of Jaegers.

You know, when I saw the movie the GLaDOS voice didn't stand out to much to me. Probably because it wasn't important.

Just not your kind of flick then I guess. Though, personally, the twenty minute fight scenes are what I wanted from it.

    I love you :|

I watched it for the first time last night, was alright. Very over hyped.

Loved it in theaters. Really need to pick it up on Blu-Ray. If only I had a 3D player. This is one of the only films I wanted to see in 3D.

I kinda think there's enough dislike and outright hate to balance whatever hype it gets. It's just that the people who liked the film really wanted to share that feeling they got :\
