Kingdom Hearts II Just been thinking about Terra...

And there's one thing I can't figure out.

Why before the Battle with Terra's Spirit or Memory or whatever, does he think that Sora is Xehanort? I mean, it seems that he can sense that Sora was not the one he had chosen (presumably Riku) but why does he assume that Sora has to be Xehanort instead? After the battle, he states that he sensed something within Sora regarding his Strength, but what does that have to do with Xehanort?

On a side note, I do find it kind of cool that the After Battle Scene seems to be the only time when Sora has a serious look on his face. As if he has a sort of Respect for Terra despite having just met him.

 

I thought he just seemed insane. Like Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. He seemed to me like he was talking to something that wasn't really their but Sora came along and well the rest I can't remember.

But that just brings a whole new level to the mystery. For if Riku was originally chosen by Terra to wield the Keyblade would he wield one without a Keychain like Terra, or one with like the Bald Guy and Sora. And if he was to originally wield one without a Keychain, then what happened to allow Sora to wield one with a Keychain?

 

Okay, I think I've figured something out about it...

From what I've heard, Riku was originally chosen to weild the Kingdom Key keyblade. He also weilded it in Hollow Bastion for a brief period. Terra picked up Kingdom Key in Sunset Horizons.

Terra chose Riku to give the keyblade to!

And then, he learned that Riku had been overtaken by Xehanort's heartless. So, he went to meet the keyblade master, Xehanort, and was surprised to find that Sora had the Kingdom Key rather than Xehanort. ("Why are you not him? Xe...ha...nort?")

 

The only time Riku uses a Keyblade without a Keychain is when he makes one from the Princesses of Heart, the rest of the time he eithrt does not use a Keyblade, or it has a Keychain on it.
