I'm guessing: You start to play as Sora. The gauge will decrease over time.
When it runs out, you switch to Riku.
When Riku runs out, you switch back to Sora, whose bar is now replenished.
Repeat

I really wants to see Rhyme in 3D. If I say that when I heard the news the kingdom hearts 3D was "suposed" to be for the 3DS the first thing I did was buy one would you believe?
