I feel like he's bringing up a good point about the PS4: the industry of gaming has gotten to a point that simply not being greedy assholes when the opportunity could so easily be taken (just look at Microsoft) is now worth applause, without a bunch of "innovations" that I honestly couldn't tell you people ever wanted.

I love this guy, and his humor is hilarious. I knew it was a last-minute decision and add-on to E3 since they sat down and didn't tune off the customers. The whole: "It's the devs that count." The people who are refusing to buy systems GIVES THEM LESS MONEY. They might break even, But I doubt they'll even get that.

Right now on Amazon, it's doubted that they will even have enough for their pre-order amount. The One sounds like they still have plenty left. I did enjoy the public spanking Sony did on the conference and the cheering afterwards. They deserved it for simply listening.

I think the real inovations of Ps4 were presented on febuary, the DRM thing... I don't think it was "last minute" thing since febuary they stated they would do the right thing for costumers, and after that "Sony wouldn't require DRM", (fact that was forgotten until a few days before E3)... I think that the public hate towards Microsoft just made a huge pressure on the third partys so that they don't put their own DRM (like online pass).
I wish they've talked more about gaikai, I want to know if we will need to pay for it, for all games for each title, or it will be included at Ps Plus.

the whole thing was about how keeping the console DRM-free was not an innovation and simply keeping the status quo.

Vita had it a year(?) ago, but still, Sony in general.

A year and some months. I remember that Sony had a big PSN sale for the Vita's first birthday a few weeks before I got my PS3.

I would almost argue (somewhat jokingly) that maintaining the status quo is an innovation. So many companies (not just gaming) are always changing things that don't need to be changed. Change for the sake of itself is gratuitous and unwelcome. If it's not broken don't fix it.
