Why is it people only care when famous people die.

Look at this shit post i found in a thread about some famous guy nobody cares about.

AROUND 4 MILLION PEOPLE DIE EACH MONTH. YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT FIVE.

    WHY?

You don't know the famous people either, so why do you care about them and not the others?

Shouldn't this be in Discussion or something?
But I agree. Everyone is always stressing about celebrity deaths and not civilians.
But that's because celebrities are so exposed. You know their daily lives so when they die, it becomes news, just like if they start dating someone new. Not to mention when it's a celebrity that's been around for so long. Michael Jackson was my music idol when I was a kid, it affects me more that he's dead because he's a bigger part of my life than someone I've never heard of.

If someone was hit by a car right in front of you, would you not try to help? Even if you don't know them?

But the point is, you DON'T know the celebrities either so why care about them?

Well it's not like you know famous people either =/
You only see and hear about them in the media, that doesn't mean you personally know them.
Sure it's sad they died, but consider all the other people who die every month without a word said about them.

    not worth the drama. :/

People idolize celebrities in their heads and that's why it comes as such a shock when they die. It's the same with family members or friends, but you can't expect someone to account for every person who dies in the world.
