Jealousy?

Sometimes, I will admit, I get jealous! Lol often over little things, sometimes over the bigger things. But more often that not I find that it makes me want to push myself further so I can achieve whatever it is that is making me feel that way. Jealousy causes so much trouble and is at the base of many fights/arguments I know!

Maybe this will sound odd, but do you think that jealousy and envy can ever be a good thing? If it pushes people to work harder can it be a positive motivation tool?
What do you think?

I do get jelous some times aswell lol.but i can admit it tho, some dont, just bulid with anger. it could be a good thing, only some times i have to admit!

 

No one is perfect so we all get jealous at times. As for jealousy being a means of motivation, I guess it could work as an incentive to achieve something that you want that another has. But when you look at it that way there really seems to be no difference between being jealous and tenacious. Then again it does depend on what you want-- for example being jealous of some one who can play an instrument better than you can work as an incentive as you will practice more, on the other hand being jealous of some one who can sing in tune when you can't just does nothing for you.

 

Jealousy?
My world centers around it.
I get jealous very easily, and sometimes, a lot of good can come out of it, because usually what I'm jealous of isn't a good thing...like other people getting a later bedtime than me...10 PM is late enough. There's this one kid who not only gets to go to bed hwenever he wants, but he does when he gets home from going places...and doing things he should be.

 

Well I do get jelous, over really silly things. Like right now, my X who is my Best friend is secretly meeting with some guy, because I found out by her mom, which I don't know why she would tell me, maybe to make me jelous, or cut me deep, but I don't see this helping me. I am sure at certain cases that Jealousy could possibly help, but on other things...I just am not sure.

 

Yeah, I get jealous. But my jealousy is very picky. I only get jealous over certain things.
I think it can only be a good thing if it drives the person who is feeling jealous to do good things. Otherwise, no. However, it's a completely natural feeling.

 

i am jealous of one of my friends in particular, and it is really eating me. everything i do i compare to him and it really gets me down because he seems so much better than me in everyway, and he is too. i try to imitate him but then i feel like a copycat, or i fail and feel even worse. i even told him that when i compare our lives my looks like dirt and he said that it made him feel special and very flattered, i wasnt sure how to take that...............

 

I get jealous very easily.Sometimes,when my brother get something,I go into my sadist state and abuse him continuosly.Today I cried because I received news about my new cousin and it is a boy.Now my brother is 3rd youngest grandson and I am the youngest granddaughter still.

Back on topic.Everybody will get jealous once in a while.Even the most optimistic person.After all.Nobody is perfect*coughnobodiescough*

 

I never get jealous. And the first real time I did, sadly, it was life-changing for me. -_-' That one time caused a lot of tension. It felt like I could cut the air with a knife like semi-melted margarine.

Jealousy between good friends and a not so good one. I sort of understand their reasoning but... I think it's pointless. This girl would cause more trouble then peace yet they said: "She's got more good traits then bad ones." Yet all they could do was complain to me about how bad of everything she did was.

*sigh* I've learned to roll it off my shoulders and accept it. A whatever type deal.

 

When jealousy is a good thing? Say you have those excersice bikes hooked into the power generator. Two people may get into a contest each on one of those bikes to see who can peddle faster, making electricity. Also, a contest to see who can kill more zombies is good too. :D

 

There's nothing wrong with a good healthy desire to kill zombies...EVER!

 

Well, I get jealous too when I lose to a person in studies. I think jealousy is good over good things like studies but not bad things like beauty or whatever else because beauty isnt important.

 

<_< Only if you're defending people and yourself from zombies, assuming you're not the one responsible for their creation. And you can only kill zombies when they're people about to become one or you see an obviously undead zombie. If they can run friggen fast, shoot!

 

I don't think that jealousy isn't either good or bad.I think it depends.The reason you're jealous about or how much jealous you are about sth can make you see if jealousy is good or bad.For example,if the reason you're jealous about is a stupid thing,then jealousy is definitely bad.And i believe that gradually jealousy can become hatred so you mustn't become obsessed to show that you are better at sth that another kid.So, what i think about jealousy is that it is good or bad,depending on how you use it.

 

jelousy can couse a bad side effect named rage. And when you are jealous for so long that the anger is to big, you will blow, and probably do something bad to the thing/person which makes you jealous. So it's better not to be jealous at all. Or you can be it, if you know how to control anger like me

 

To tell you the truth,my opinion is that EVERYONE gets jelaous sometimes.
Sometimes I get jelaous also(when it comes to friendship)but i have to be honest and say "hey,she has the right to meet new friends,I shouldnt get jelaous,I should be happy"

 

Everyone do get jealous sometimes.

I don't become so much jealous anymore, it's a part of growing up.
And no I jealousy doesn't push you harder, then it becomes a desire to do something and become better at it so you can overcome the person you were jealous at in the beginning =P.

 

I am Jealous, of someone. Like they have a PS3, I am jealous of it, but something I do know something, jealousy leads to anger, anger leads to hate and hate leeds to the path of Evil. So you shouldn't really let it control you that much.

 

Risht, but like I stated in my post, not all jealousy is bad...
Sometimes, it can help you.
Sometimes, it can hurt you.

Depends on who you are, who your jealous of, and WHY you are jealous of them.

 

That is an almost perfect view! ^^ thats what I think! :D
