Must say that's quite nice of a big name artist, though it seems a bit that's it's a rapper. Still, Jay-Z's one of my favorite modern rappers, so this is good news to me.

Wow. I don't really have much of an opinion of Jay-Z because of my limited taste in his music, however I do think that this benefit concert is a good idea. And if they do raise all the money that they expect, it'll be very nice for those charities.

It's nice to know that some 'big name' people still have good intentions.

Most celebrities host these kinds of benefits. Most of the time, it's not because of good intentions, but because it's a PR stunt. They get their name out there, and they get even more famous because it's now known that they help kids or fund cancer research or some other cliche'd cause. Sorry to be so cynical...

Blueprint 3 also drops that day. Speaking of which, Blueprint 3 is pretty good, not classic though

Lots of big rappers have their own charities which is pretty awesome. More musicians should follow that example and also hold more benefit concerts.

It just smells like an excuse to promote his album to me.

I answer both of these with:

PR stunt or not, at least he's doing it right?
It doesn't matter to me that it helps him along the wa

I'm still deciding on buying tickets, but it's always good to see someone do good on that day.

And it'll at least hold up the fact that his album was mediocre.
