NO NOT THE DA VINCI CODE PAY ATTENTION FUCKBOY So I showed him a sprite I made from scratch right and he say is good but we agreed the eye is hard to actually see at x1 resolution so I was researching NES sprites to see how they handle this problem and most of them just use a flat black for everybody's eyes Then it dawned on us... THAT'S WHY THERE ARE NO BLACK PEOPLE IN OLD VIDYO GAMS! PLS PROVIDE COUNTER EXAMPLES IF U KNO ANY DOUGH
The thing about Punch Out is that the sprites are huge compared to someone like Mario or Megaman. But while Punch Out is being brought up, I should mention Doc and Mr Sandman.
according to this thing, there's only six black nes characters. http://unrealitymag.com/index.php/2...e-only-six-black-nes-characters-i-could-find/ although it's clearly 7 since the idiot forgot mike tyson but mentioned the other characters in his own game?????
If I remember correctly from a few original sprite game designers, they avoided using humans in general since sprites that small were harder to design as standalone designs and didn't look like copy/pastes of each other and more cartoon designs fitted with the creative freedom given by video game design, and weren't restricted to just designing humans.
