J-stars: Victory VS discussion

I would like to see a Western release. Especially considering that Jump All-Stars and Ultimate Stars were a fan-favorite to import. It would be a mistake to not at least make an effort to do so. Especially if an unknown manga is included, some fans might be interested in seeing more, and then it gets an English translation in the US. Kinda like Roy and Marth in SSB Melee.

 

I played Jump All-Stars and loved it. I was sad that it never had a US release though. Being a fan of most Shonen Jump manga an anime, I look forward to it. I hope it comes to the US. The only thing I am upset about is it is only on Sony platforms. I do not own any Sony platforms. I have every other platform but Sony platforms. I pray it will maybe come to the 360. I am tired of all my favorite games being exclusive to something I do not own.

Oh goody, another game that won't see a western release due to licensing issues. At least the PS3/Vita isregion-free.

 

While these type of games have been done before, I'm at least glad that they're making a game that includes a variety of Jump characters, instead of it just being something like DBZ Budokai, or Naruto Ninja Clash. I would really like to at least try this game out, because I really really want to play as Toriko.

I could see this getting a western release. A number of these franchises are still popular in the gaming market today. Dragonball Budokai, One Piece: Pirate Warriors, and the mountain of Naruto games. It would seem best to release this type of things overseas because there is already a (small/niche) market for them.

Not personally a big fan, at least I hope anime fans of this stuff can get to it without having to import.

Publishers working together can happen. Pirate Warriors was done by both Tecmo Koei and Namco. Namco owns the One Piece license (at least for the games) in the west and published it, while Tecmo Koei made it. Also a lot of the anime games are done by Namco anyway.

I see it more to do with licensing fees from the IP owners of each anime in the west. It would cost too much to localise compared to how niche the title is, that it's not worth releasing over here.

Also Libre that game was region-free. I had JUMP Ultimate Stars on my DS.

 

Yeah 3DS games aren't region free. But JUMP Ultimate Stars was a DS game.

 

He was just mentioning it as a similar game to this that wasn't released over here because of licensing problems.
And Pirate Warriors only had Namco to worry about, this game likely has many more to contend with

I was trying to see already if there was a thread about this but there doesn't seem to be, if there is let a mod know to join this thread to the already made one.

Keep in mind please, this is J-stars; JUMP stars. so you can't say any anime character outright no matter how much you want them. I'm sure most of you know this though anyways. Where should I start. I've been watching this game for some time now, and it comes out next month.

Firstly I should say that; It's been going around that it possibly will release on Japans PSN of course I plan to buy it. Now there's been speculation about it having the chance to be localized or not; as of now, there isn't a chance. Even if it sells well within Japan it depends on licensing and voice acting and a lot of other things. I DO want it to release world wide but I really doubt it will happen.

Are there any characters you want to have added to the roster? the game has one month now until release. We don't know if they're still trying to add characters to the list or what not. I personally want more HXH Characters in this roster, preferably Killua. along with Hiei from YYH those are he main two characters I can only see that I want adding so far.

 

I'm pretty excited for this, and I'm mostly fine with the playable roster so far. With one month to go, they probably won't make many announcements. They could be keeping the rest of the characters a secret until release?

Anyway, I would like Killua to be added since he was playable in one of the previous JUMP games (it also sucks how Hisoka is support only ._.). They should have more characters from Hitman Reborn also like Kyoya or Ryohei.

I'm kinda pissed that Allen Walker isn't a playable character. I would love him and Kanda with Lenalee as support. :/
