    Actually, the way you worded that, that would mean magnets would never have any effect.

    The fact is that whether or not the magnet actually moves away from the metal, just because it's attached doesn't mean it'll levitate. After all, it's just stuck in place.


    Plus, you know, magnets attract metal.
