I've just seen Dragonball Evultion...

Well my friends just saw it and told me it was a horrible Dragon Ball movie but if the movie had nothing to do with DB it was a pretty decent action flick. The fact that it's using DB names and stuff kinda ruins it for them since we like to wear our nostalgia goggles.

No he isn't. Goku is played by Justin Chatwin and Billy Boyd played Pippin.

 

I was gonna go see it today (surprised I saw it on the movie list) but my friend didn't want to see it. XD

Well of course it won't be as bad as some other people say it is. I can't say I hate/like a movie if I haven't seen it before. So I'll have to see it to get a review. But glad to see somebody say that it was at least decent.

As for what I thought about the movie well.....First off all if it wasn't based off of dragonball then it would have not been an extremely bad movie. Most things that happened in the movie was nothing like the manga.

In the movie Goku was nothing like his manga counterpart. The movie was pretty rushed like the fact that they never explained how Piccolo got free and that Yamcha and Bulma started to like each other when it was only not to long ago that Yamcha was trying to steal from them. I really didn't like the Kamehameha because was pretty lousy. IT annoyed me how they made it like Avatar when they say that the kamehameha is like some air bending powers and was weird how master Roshi used the kamehameha to heal Goku . When Goku fired the kamehameha it didn't make sense how he just started to fly straight at Piccolo while firing at Piccolo. Personally there were so many unnecessary changes from the manga and the movie

My final thought about the movie was that it sucked really bad. I could name a huge list of differences from the anime/manga and the movie. If your a fan of the dragonball series or just like it I don't think you should watch this at all but if your not then give it a shot just don't get your hopes up but you don't have to listen to me since this it just my thoughts (and also the fact that Im a huge dragonball/Z/GT fan)

 

I haven't seen it, but I don't think of it as an adaption.
It seems more like it's based off the manga/anime without following the story
I think id wait for it to come out on dvd so i can rent it and watch it while....not being sober. Seems more fun than a theatre

 

The only reason people said it would be bad is because it's live action not anime or cartoon.

I know a site where I can watch it for free so...yeah. >>; I've always been a fan of the Dragon Ball series. I do think the movie will be bad but I guess I need to watch it in order to give my opinion. XD​

 

Also just to note if you do go and watch it you should watch throught the credits because there is a special scene

In the scene it shows a lady nursing somebody in a bed. That person is none other than Piccolo

 

A special scene eh..? Could that mean...sequel? o.o

 

yea Fox has already signed for 2 sequals already and the scence clearly shows a sequal is going to come

 

I see. Wonder if this will be based on DBZ. Or the return of Piccolo.

 

Well, in the anime, there are many Picollos. Maybe this Picollo becomes Goku's ally as in the anime? We'll see.

Lol, when this scene started, many people already left the cinema thinking the movier was already over :D

 

Actually, there are only 2 Piccolos. The one that appears in the movie, also reffered to as Demon King Piccolo. And his son. Piccolo a.k.a MaJunior. He becomes Goku's ally in the anime.

 

That's where I was thinking of. There were much more Buu's in the anime, thanks for correcting me :D

 

That is what i thought. So it is Piccolo Damiou.
Is he young in this one? As in was Sheron in it and he wished for the Dragonballs to regain his youth?. What about the anteena part. Piccolo is supposed to have anteena. Did they show it at all?

 

Piccolo sort of had antenna in the movie but they were not even sticking out or anything. In the movie Piccolo never wished for his youth back he was the same age through out the movie and I fear in the sequel the same Piccolo from the movie will be present not MaJunior

 

Aww, that bites! D: Oh well. I definitely hope they'll come with something good.

 

Okay, then did they get the characters powers done right. You know their signature moves. So how about Ma Junior, did Goku go through his stomach and King Piccolo spit out an egg. I am trying to decide if I should go see it or not. Right now I am receiving mixed views on this movie.

What no Krillen? But he is a big impact in Goku's life besides Yamacha. Kind of stupid not to include him unless there was a monk there that did not look like the character.

 

I really can't take you seriously on this.

But anyway, the reason why it keeps being called bad is because the original story of DB has basically been shat upon by the story they are using in the film. Basically it will be hated for its mockery of the original manga/anime but it will probably be liked as a martial arts epic meaning it could fall into either likeness depending on what the majority call it.

 

they changed alot. According to the movie the kamehameha is the ultimate air bending (rip off of avatar). Some how during the movie Master Roshi used the Kamehameha to heal Goku some how. The shooting of the kamehameha was nothing like the manga/anime and in the final battle

When Goku and Piccolo finished the battle with a beam struggle. When goku fires the Kamehameha for some reason he starts to fly straight at Piccolo while shooting. Hte blast hits Piccolo and Piccolo falls to the ground uncouncious (with no sratches though).

Did FuniMation really give them the greenlight to do this to their licensed show? Or did Fox really feel they needed to change the plot around. Sounds very stupid. Now I am really disappointed in this movie. If they do make a new one they better hope it stays with the story line.
