    "there's a rumour that -"

Rumour means it is real and you'll meet it in the course of the game.

    I always like that.

    Also!

Bad guy isn't invincible, but heroes are getting their ass kicked, then bad guy becomes "invincible" and they discover some way to defeat said bad guy.

Hero sees part of his friend and thinks he made it out okay, then notices his friend is actually grievously injured or dead and there is nothing he can do about it.

And you know it's totally cheesy and cliche, but you can't help liking it.

The second one. oh man. I remember that part in KH2 when Riku and Sora fight Xemnas and they reflect all those bolts what an amazing battle.

To me that is one of my top 5 gaming moments, Love it so much, Asuras Wrath had a little bit that reminded me of it, but nothing compared to smashing Triangle and Circle til your hand wants to melt.

Actually, I was thinking about the scene in PotC: Dead Man's Chest where Ragetti (the guy with the wooden eye) saves Elizabeth's life by cutting off one of the Kraken's tentacles.
But yeah, yours counts too. I guess that entire battle was a mixture of the first and the second one. Sora would have been toast if Riku hadn't rescued him during his brief moment of being playable. I loved that fight.

Oh yeah, I wasn't assuming you meant my example, I was just saying that I totally agreed with you. But that scene from PotC is a very good one too.
