I like it. It's sad, but also thought-provoking. I like the repeated 'And I believe you', and then the 'I put my foot down' to show that the narrator no longer believes their abuser. I wouldn't like to think of what would happen had they not run at the end.

Poetry isn't exactly my forte, but I do like this a lot. Keep up the great work.

 

I like your style a lot.
You know how to incorporate emotion and the power of both fear and authority, on both counts of the characters involved.
The way you kept us on edge was brilliant also. It left us to imagine our own possible outcomes and aftermaths.

I'm not creative enough for poetry. Or short stories. Or drawing. I pretty much suck. I'll admit I have difficulty appreciating poetry too. But I like this! That means something, yes?
