Confused, Axel looked behind him, and turned back just as quickly, as the Berserker was about to stare. A sheepish look grazed his face. "Oh...didn't notice. Heheh...but tell, how in the world did you get, well, him? I mean, do you like him?"

 

....why? Is there a problem?

 

"No...just that is Saïx," Axel shrugged off quietly, slightly looking behind. "He just looks like the type...forget it. Just proves that everyone has someone for them somewhere."

 

She pats him on the shoulder.

That's okay...you're a handsome guy....girls are just shy of you.

 

"Oh, I know I'm a handsome guy, Angel," Axel waved off, a confident smirk playing on his face, and his ever present arrogance showing. But it left just as quickly, as he snorted indignantly. "Shy isn't the problem, more like forward. And brainless. Fangirls, you know? And shy ones aren't my type anyway. I like a challenge. Independent, someone who can handle me, yet not put me down. But also someone I can talk to and who understands. Who's smart and witty. Obviously pretty, I don't want a female version of Borat, after all."

Axel shook his head at himself, wondering what got him to say all that. He raised his eyebrow at her, giving a lazy grin. "Don't think you can hook me up, right?"

Namine glanced at Larxene, trying to catch her eye and ask her for help on what to do.

 

"I told you," Larxene said, her voice barely above a whisper to the unspoken plead. "I'll handle Zexion for awhile. I mean, you aren't just going to reject Roxas like that, are you? Just give him a dance and think it over. The two guys are understanding, as far as I know."

 

"Well, okay..." Namine murmured to her and then turned to Roxas. "Yes," she said, relieved that she'd be able to dance with him.

 

Hook you up?

She suddenly turned nervous.

I don't know how to.......but....I think the person you're lookingf or is Larxene....

She grinned.

Why? Are you scared of her? I thought you said you liked a challenge?

 

Axel chuckled to himself at her accusation. "Scared? Me? Nah. Sometimes I'm scared for my appendages getting cut off, but really, who wouldn't be? Otherwise, nope. We're too comfortable with each other for that. I know...she wouldn't really hurt me, unless she's truly enraged. But then that's even questionable."

He sent a sarcastic smirk, almost as if he was expecting the female name she answered with. "I was hoping for a different reply. Guess Larxene is a rare gem considering how many people picked her when I asked. Should I really tell her...to be my date?"

 

"Well, why not? I think you should," she said. "Or do you not want her to be your date?.."

"...I don't know, our relationship is kind of odd," Axel responded honestly, as he looked over at the girl still sitting on his lap. "Is like we're friends and enemies." It was true.

Larxene flirted with him. But it was to annoy. Didn't know when she meant it, if she did at all. He either remained passive or flirt back to it. He'd spilled his guts to her when Roxas was unavailable. She'd listened, give advice if needed (weird). She knew him like the back of his hand and vice-versa. Then they sometimes do terrible things to each other. Find ways for humiliation, fights, pissing the other off. And violence wasn't a taboo between them.

Still. To ask or not to ask, that is the question.

 

Zexion waited.

She went over to Zexion seeing that he was bored and tired too.

Zexion looked at her. "uh, me neither. but I was kinda waiting for Namine, she said she will be here in a while. sorry.." Zexion said.

 

Axel rolled his eyes at Angel's snappish respond. "Whatever."

Fine then. He'll ask her and get it over with. Though as he opened his mouth to get her attention, a million possibilities ran through his head about Larxene's reaction.

What if she gave him a "WTF" look? Or laugh at him? Larxene was the type of female to do rejection easily, and he was never rejected. He closed his mouth as the thoughts processed, his throat suddenly becoming dry.

Despite this, he wasn't nervous, of course. Axel The Great is never nervous. Nope. Never. Not at all. Nada. Not in a million years. Nunca.
