It's beautiful

It is true that we are inclined to first select things based on what we see. However, with books you can never really tell what the book is about until you actually open it up and start reading. The cover of a book is often created by a different artist than the author. And the same book could have, as Makaze said, different art depending on region or even by printing.

Take for example Dragonflight by Anne McCaffery. The first in the Dragonriders of Pern series.

Those are all the same book. They contain the same words. The same plot. The same characters.

And remember how I mentioned A Clockwork Orange earlier? This is the cover of the copy I have. Based on the cover would I really want to read the book? No. I made a conscious decision to read the book too see if it measured up to the hype. And it did.

 

whatever. Yet again you just have to criticize my way of thinking. Everyone is entitled to their way of doing things. I most certinaly can decide if a book is boring or not, even if I have not read it. And I sure as heck can say if a movie looks boring or not based on a trailer. And the only thing that doesn't entitle someone to post in a thread is if they're told to not post. You can't keep someone from posting or not. And don't look at me for reading Twilight, the movies were boring enough. Not too mention, I hate dramas. I don't even know why I've watched the 3 Twilight movies. Probably just because it was a family movie and I wanted to see if there would be even some sort of action in it. I'll post in a thread if I feel like it, I'll judge a book by it's cover, and I'll just a movie by its trailer. You don't tell me how to live my life, and I don't tell you how to live yours. Stop criticizing every little thing I say.

 

I am entitled to decide whether you are worth keeping around or not... By that logic. You are not entitled to judge anything that you have not experienced. Imagine if someone was told about sex, saw a video, or looked it up in an encyclopedia, and then went around claiming the right to say what it was and was not like. You cannot decide what something is if you have no knowledge of what it is. "X is good or bad" does not make sense until you know what the value of X is. "The picture next to X is good or bad" is more coherent. Speak correctly or stop trying, please.

Watching the films and reading the books are two different things. You can argue that you do not like the general idea, but you cannot claim that the writing style is boring without reading it.

Guys, really, do we need to start something over this? While I most certainly do not agree with Aqua, he/she (what is your gender, anyway?) is entitled to their own opinion, and I can respect that.
Makaze, I do somewhat agree with you, and I understand that your trying to get Aqua to see your side of the story, but Aqua obviously does not agree and is quite stubborn on their own viewpoint. It's not working, so I suggest you drop it and stop wasting your time.

Also, Twilight is sh*t. I can say this because I read the books.
Stephenie Meyer ruined vampires for me ;_;

I heard that was a wonderful fantasy.
