It Lies in the Heart.

"Natsuki!" Tadami yelled, a little annoyed,

the king frowned, "what is the matter?"

"i cat find Natsuki," Tadami said,

Natsuki felt a shivver go up her spine, "u-um...."

the queen sighed, "as you wish," she said and looked down when she heard his last remark

 

Kimiko looked over and noticed Lanern walk out into the courtyard. "We could stop the fighting..." She said shyly, hearing the last thing he'd said.

June noticed Li and the Destiny Kingdom's princess in the library. She walked over to them. "Li!" She shouted. "What are you doing?"

Li's eyes looked over at June, "June....I havent seen you in a while..."

Vaj mummled a few curse words then flipped over on her backside and stared up at the ceiling

The Queen sighed in somewhat boredom, "No....Ill come up with a plan to get rid of those filthy kids of his first."

 

Lanern was a little shocked to hear a soft reply and looked around before spotting Kimiko, "oh...princess Kimiko....excuse me....." he said bowing, "forgive me if I am intruding on your rest....I just felt the need to remove myself from the castle a little bit myself......" he said slightly embarrassed.

"As my highness commands....well then...I shall leave you to your planning....." Kelveras said bowing and exiting, "seems I am in need of finding entertainment myself.....hmmm.....where are those brats of his......" he grinned heading down towards the library.

 

Kimiko gave a small smile. "That's alright... you're not intruding at all..." She said. "How's Mother doing?" She asked, somewhat eagerly.

"I've been busy..." June said and crossed her arms.

 

Tadami walked down the hall, "Natsuki! come on!"

Natsuki turned to see her brother, she turned, bowed and ran back to her brother, clinging to his arm

the king, Tadami, and Natsuki set off back for their own kingdom

 

Li stood up and walked from out behind the book case, "I see.....By the way, have you seen Vaj?" He asked curiously, yet sadly

Vaj sighed again then pulled herself up and managed to get to the railing on her window seal, she groaned a little from the pain in her leg then stared out over to the ocean

 

Lanern shook off the embarrasment but still was nervous when hearing Kimiko's request, "your mother....to be honest.....the doctors still have not found a solid cure...." he sighed not looking her in the eyes, "right now...we are just doing the best we can Kimiko....."

Kelveras entered the library and found June and Li, "hmmm a prince and princess....but can't say exactly the ones I wanted to find...." he said looking around, "seems they have already left the castle then....." he sighed.

 

Natsuki was the first on the shore of Destiny kingdom, she skipped back to the castle

Tadami smiled at Natsuki and ran off after her,

the king sighed and started for the castle,

 

"I see..." Kimiko said, somewhat disappointed. However, she found it best not to lose hope. Some day Mother will get better again... I just know it... She thought and looked up at the sky. "It's a nice day..." She said, preferring to change the subject.

"No, I haven't..." June said and then looked over at Kelveras. "Yes, they've headed back to their own kingdom..." She said, a blank expression on her face. "And good riddance..."

 

Li looked at Kelvera, he looked down blankly then crossed his arms, "Just missed them...." He said bitterly, "F******* Destiny Kingdom..." He cursed quietly to himself then walked out, "Im checking on Vaj...."

Vaj rested her chin on her arms, which she had layed criss cross on the rail. She sighed and looked over at the distance Destiny Kingdom, she felt a little more pain and a slight hint of anger. She sighed and closed her eyes

 

"Just my luck....they happen to leave...and my drink happens to be gone....." Kelveras sighed and ran his hand through his hair, "so princess....what is your reason for not attending the meeting...." he said turning to June, "after all...she even made Vaj come despite her dislike of her....."

"It is...." Lanern said before seeing Natsuki and Li coming up, he smiled seeing Natsuki's face, "what a beautiful carefree smile she has....." he said before shaking it off as they came closer, "perhaps they bring good news Kimiko....."

 

Natsuki bounded through the garden and up to Kimiko, glomping her, "im back!"

Tadami huffed once he stopped just before the other three, "you need to learn how to slow down Natsuki..." he huffed

the King walked back to his place in the throneroom

 

Kimiko laughed and fell over when Natsuki glomped her. "Welcome home..." She said softly and smiled.

June looked away. "I had something I needed to take care of..." She said bitterly.

 

Li walked slowly down the long halls, he looked out at the gray city and sighed then turned his head foward. Once he made it to Vaj's room he knocked then opened the door and closed it quietly, "Vaj? Vaj are you in here?" He asked in a whisper

Vaj made a bitter face once he failed to notice her, "Im right here..." She said and lifted up her head then looking over her shoulder at him

Li gasped slightly then walked over to her quickly, he rester his hand on her forehead then lifted up her bangs, "Vaj....You have another mark? Are you feeling okay?"

Vaj smacked his hand down then went back to resting her arms and head, "Im fine...Its just another 'bruise'. Its okay...." She said quietly, a bit annoyed at all the commotion over one mark

Li crossed his arms and scowled, "I was only trying to help...Its something very serious you have..." He said, slapping his hand on his face, "Im starting to sound like a 50 year-old..."

Vaj looked up at him with her dark eyes, they seemed to light up a bit, "Kind of...." She laughed, "Just a little, you dont have to worry....Ill be fine."

 

Kelveras grinned walking over to June, "well sorry if I asked a personal question princess....but then again I am captain of the guard and entrusted to your protection and safety....." he said then heading to the window, "after all...your brother will inherit the throne....but what then of you....."

Lanern smiled, happy to see they were enjoying their reunion together, "if you all will excuse me..." he said and headed down the knight area, "well...seems the knights are up and about in discussion no doubt about the meeting...." he said heading into the knight dining quarters.

 

Natsuki looked at Kimiko and playfully screamed, "it was so weird there! everyone was so uptight!"

Tadami looked at Natsuki, "no doubt cause they dont like us,"

 

June clenched her fists. "Shut up..." She said, a glint of anger in her eyes. "What makes you think my brother will inherit the throne and not I?" She asked. "You must be foolish to think he could actually rule this kingdom..."

"Well, you're home now..." Kimiko said softly and smiled. She gave a small grunt. "Could you get off of me, please?" Kimiko asked politely and laughed a little.

 

Li rested his hand on her head, then messed up her hair, "Im going to go into to town tomarrow...Want to come?"

Vaj popped her head up and nodded while grinning, "Please!" She crashed onto him and hugged him, "Thank you!" She said then squeezed him

Li laughed a little and patted her head, "Why dont you get some rest? Its getting late...." He walked to the door and sligthly looked over his shoulder at her, "You'll need it..." He said to himself then walked out and headed to his room

Vaj watched the door close then hopped up, almost loosing her balance from feeling dizzy. She looked down in doubt then changed into her night dress and crawled into her bed
