It Lies in the Heart.

June squeezed his hand tightly, feeling the pain from her stomach. Suddenly, her grip on his hand loosened as she passed out. The maids had gone as quickly as they could to get a doctor to her room.

Kimiko closed her eyes and let herself fall back in the grass. "Maybe not...." She said softly. "Or maybe it will... It may not be likely but there's still a chance..."

 

Kelveras closed his eyes and held June close to him, tears slowly started to fall down his cheeks, "June....my love....its going to be ok...I promise you its ok to be ok..." he said gently rubbing her back, "I promise I will always be by your side....always loving you....."

Lanern sighed, "I wish I had that kind of hope...." he said looking over at Kimiko, "sadly...after everything I have been through...everything I have done....hope is a fleeting memory to me...."

 

Tadami walked out of the castle to get some things,

Natsuki still frowned blankly down at the kingdom, "why do i feel like im missing something?...."

 

The maids soon returned with a doctor. The doctor quickly ran in the room and kneeled beside the two. He felt her forehead and then felt her pulse. Seeing that she wasn't doing so well, he started to quickly think of what was causing this. He had one of the maids run to the bathroom to get a damp towel to place on her forehead. He checked her breathing and saw that she was taking small, shallow breaths. Mainly, her wound was causing her alot of pain, and the medicine wasn't helping.

"Yeah..." Kimiko said and opened her eyes, staring at the sky. "I guess you're right... If you don't want hope," She said and looked at him, smiling. "If you think that you don't have hope, then you really don't. But if you believe you do, then you probably do..." She said and rubbed the back of her head. "I'm not making much sense am I?" She asked.

 

Kelveras looked at the doctor, "do everything and anything you can to help her...." he said holding her close, "I don't care what it takes...take away her pain....." he said gently taking her hand and tenderly kissing her once, "I love you June...." he said hugging her close.

"No I get what your saying Kimiko..." Lanern sighed and smiled standing up, "unfornately I have been taught to be stubborn on the thought of hope...."

 

Natsuki sighed and looked at her bed,

Tadami walked down the street

 

The doctor nodded. "I will do all that I can. It seems the medicine isn't helping her wound, and the only reason that would happen is if an outside force were hurting it or if it had been infected. We'll need to take her down to the infirmary to perform surgery as soon as possible," He explained to Kelveras.

"Hmm..." Kimiko sat up and giggled. "Oh! I forgot to ask you... What are you doing out here in the garden so early in the morning?" She asked and smiled.

 

"Then get everything ready....I'll bring her down myself..." Kelveras said gently picking her up in his arms, "I promise you June...everything is going to be ok....." he said walking fast towards the infirmary, "I will always be by your side....."

Lanern turned around, "relaxing...something I don't have time for nowdays...." he sighed, "enjoy your rest Kimiko...I must heard to the knight meeting..."

 

Natsuki sighed and shifted her weight, im going to try and stand up, thats all, i dont like nii-sama carrying me everywhere, its too much of a bother for him, and the last thing i want to be is a bother, she thought and winced as her back screamed at her, she frowned and put her feet on her floor, grabbing onto her stand and standing up, she winced again

Tadami got a mango for Natsuki and bought a few more things,

 

The doctor nodded and quickly headed to the infirmary with the maids. They set up everything needed for the surgery. Then the doctor waited outside for Kelveras to arrive with June.

"Aww okay then..." Kimiko said sadly. "I thought most of the knights were at the frontlines, though?" She asked.

 

Kelveras made it to the infirmary and went inside with June, he laid her on a bed, "do everything you can for her....please...." he said looking at the doctor, "I don't care what it takes....if you need anything let me know..."

Lanern stopped and laughed a little, "quite a few of them are...." he sighed looking down, "there is no meeting...just going to be by myself...." he said walking.

 

Natsuki closed one eye tightly and limped to her door, she bit her lip to try and ignore the pain from her back, she stumbled and caught hold of the doorknob to keep herself from falling on the ground, she sneered and opened the door, leaning on the wall when she got outside, she tried to stand up but just fell down again, she cried out in pain when she hit the ground hard

 

The doctor nodded. "Of course. Although, I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave until the surgery is complete," He said. The maids had already left and gone back to work. June was taking small, shallow breaths.

"Oh... Okay..." Kimiko said softly.

 

Kelveras's face darkened, "remember...do everything you can..." he said turning around and walking out, he closed the door behind him and slumped against the wall, "June...." he said letting his head fall.

Lanern stopped and sighed, "Kimiko...would you like to join me...." he said not turning around, "I just figured you would be better off not hanging out with someone as down as myself...."

 

Natsuki growled and tried to get up, she pushed off the ground and looked up, she leaned on the wall again and walked down the hall towards the garden,

 

"Hmm?" Kimiko tilted her head. "That's not true... I like you're company!" She said and grinned. She stood up. "But if you want to be alone, that's fine... I understand there's alot going on right now..." She smiled.

The doctor nodded and watched as Kelveras left the room. When he turned back to June, she was muttering. "Kelveras..." She muttered softly, almost a whisper. The doctor blinked in surprise, but shook his head and began the surgery. The surgery took about two and a half hours altogether.

 

Lanern smiled lightly, "I'd actually like your company too...." he said stopping and letting her catch up, "who knows we might see Natsuki and Tadami walking again..." he said heading into the castle with her.

Kelveras hadn't moved a muscle, he sighed and continued to stare at the ground, "if anything ever happens to you June...I don't know what I will do...." he said closing his eyes, "I love you so much...dear....."

 

Natsuki tripped and fell, she clutched her fists but couldnt get up,

Tadami walked back to the castle,

 

Kimiko smiled. "Perhaps..." She said once she had caught up with him, her notebook clutched tightly in her hands. However, once they got inside, Kimiko spotted Natsuki not too far off and gasped. "N-Natsuki!" She shouted and ran to her.

The doctor came out of the room and turned to face Kelveras. "Kelveras..." He said, a serious expression on his face. "It seems June's wound is worse than it had appeared," He said. "It seems her wound was being agitated by a small chip off an arrowhead, undoubtedly the one that pierced her stomach. The wound in her stomach has, unfortunately, become infected. What puzzles me is that such a small chip could not cause a wound this large to grow infected... We're going to research this further, but for now, it would be best if she stays here in the infirmary," He explained to Kelveras.

 

Kelveras trembled and looked up with a face filled halfway with anger and sadness, "do everything you can for her....now I'm demanding it...." he said turning around, "if I wish to see her I will be let in....you won't keep us apart...." he said walking off tears slowly coming down.

Lanern rushed over to Natsuki's side as well, "princess what are you doing?" he asked shocked, "your not ready to be walking by yourself...."
