It Lies in the Heart.

The Queen nodded then froze, she stared at the messager with a glare, "No. I didnt."

 

"Ah, I see..." The messenger said. "Well, it is certainly true. The doctor said Kelveras was by her side every minute, and they said they love each other." He stood up straight. "That is all the news I have to deliver, so I will be leaving, unless there is something else you would like me to do, your highness?" He said.

Kimiko shook her head. "Why can't our kingdoms just get along? The prince and princess didn't seem like bad people..." She muttered.

June smiled and gently squeezed her hand before closing her eyes. She let herself gently start to drift off into sleep.

 

The Queen shook her head, "No. Your dismissed." She said then smirked to herself and let out a quiet chuckle

 

"Its far too long to explain princess....." Lanern sighed, "but this is how things have been for thousands of years...and it doesn't like they will change anytime soon....." he said heading into the castle.

Kelveras continued to gently massage June's hand, he turned and looked out the window at the night sky, "beautiful night...." he said before turning back to June, "but no where near as beautiful as you are dear...." he said tenderly kissing her hand.

 

The messenger bowed and walked out.

Kimiko crossed her arms. "Well I don't like it... I think it's better not to fight... Don't you?" She asked, looking up at Lanern.

June slept soundly. Her breathing was in deep, eaven breaths and she had a small smile on her face that showed she was having a good dream.

 

olivia walked up the hall way , i wonder what happend to Natsuki she thought ,
she finally caught up with Kimiko and Lanern

 

Lanern sighed, "I'm the head knight Kimiko....if I said we shouldn't fight anymore....what would your mother and father think of me?" he said turning to her, "I train soldiers to fight and kill Oblivions...its my job...my duty....if I were to just drop all that because of reasoning.....I would be a fool...."

 

"Yeah... That's true..." Kimiko said, looking up. "Still, I hope this war ends soon..."

After a while of sleeping, June started to have a nightmare. When she woke up, she suddenly sat up, screaming.

 

"I wish I could tell you it would be....unfornately this war has been raging on for thousands of years...both kingdoms are strong...." Lanern sighed, "I doubt it will be over anytime soon....but until that day if it ever comes...I have a duty and promise to protect you...." he smiled hugging Kimiko.

Kelveras held June close and gently rubbed her back, "love whats the matter?" he asked looking her over, "are you ok? whats wrong?" he said holding her close, "dear I'm here....its ok.....its ok...." he said gently rubbing her hand.

 

Uh...I guess I could do that.

Its cool when you fight the creatures the first time. But, there not hard. They're slow, and just hit you back sometimes with one swipe. All you have to do is block, or if your hit, flip backwards and you won't take much damage.

"K-Kelveras..." She said softly and held on to him tightly, sobbing. She trembled as she held on to him. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." She said over and over, holding on to him tightly.

Kimiko smiled and hugged him back. "Just be careful, okay? We don't want you to get hurt..." She said and smiled.

 

"Its ok dear...you did nothing wrong..." Kelveras said holding her close, tightly but gently, "I'm here love....I will always be here for you....I promise you....." he said looking into her eyes, "I love you June...with all my heart...." he said tenderly kissing her and hugging her close.

Lanern smiled, "if I do its because I'm doing my job so you won't get hurt silly..." he said gently tickling Kimiko, "I don't want anything to ever happen to my princesses...or my kingdom...."

 

June held on to Kelveras tightly, not letting go. She continued to sob, unable to help it. Was it just a nightmare...? Or was it real...? She wondered. "I love you too, Kelveras... so much... Please don't leave... Please... I'm sorry..." She said.

Kimiko giggled and smiled. She hugged Lanern tightly. "Yeah... But still be careful!" She said and grinned.

 

Kelveras continued to hold her close, "its ok dear....I will never leave you....never again...." he said gently rubbing her back, "I love you with all my heart June.....I will give anything for you....anything to stop your sadness....anything to make you happy love....." he said gently wiping her tears away. He tenderly kissed her lips, cheeks, and nose, "its ok dear....I am here...I will always be here....." he said gently kissing her.

Lanern smiled, "fine if it will help...I will try to be careful...." he said sitting down and laying on the grass, "I haven't been able to relax like this in a while....its nice....."

 

June held him close, closing her eyes. She had calmed down and stopped sobbing, but tears still fell silently down her cheeks. "Kelveras..." She said softly and gently kissed his lips.

Kimiko smiled and sat down next to him. "Yeah..." she said and let herself fall back on the grass, looking up at the sky. She grinned. "It's a really nice day today," She said happily.

 

Kelveras gently kissed her and held her close, he gently rubbed her back with one hand and held her hand tenderly with his other. "What happened...was it a nightmare.....what scared her so badly....." he said gently breaking the kiss and held her close, "I don't ever want to see her like that again...I don't want her to feel pain or sadness if I can prevent it....."

"Yeah...wonderful day...." Lanern said leaning over, "so...what exactly did you do then while we were gone Kimiko?" he asked curiously.

 

June held on to him tightly, never wanting to let go. She could still feel herself trembling slightly, and the wound on her stomach was hurting really badly from sitting up so suddenly, but she ignored it for now. She let the tears fall down her cheeks as she held on to him, never wnating to let go.

Kimiko thought. "Well, when I felt strange that one time, I waited in the lookout tower until you guys got back..." She said, thinking. "But Right after you guys left, me and Tadami went to the field to pick some flowers for Natsuki and Mother..." She said and smiled.

 

Kelveras continued to hold June close, he gently rocked back and forth while gently rubbing her back, "June...dear....I love you...." he said looking into her eyes and tenderly kissing her, he took her hands in his. He gently broke the kiss and laid down beside her letting her rest her head on him, "love....is everything ok....is there anything I can do for you?.....anything to make you feel better?" he asked as he softly ran his hand down her head and to her back and started to gently rub her back.

Lanern smiled, "sounds pleasant...." he said closing his eyes and feeling the slight breeze, "I'm just glad to know Natsuki is ok....I didn't know what to think when I saw she had been hurt...."

June relaxed and rested her head on his chest. She let the tears fall down her cheeks. "Don't ever leave me..." She said softly. "I know it was just a nightmare, but it felt so real... Please don't ever leave me..."

"Well you rescued her, right? Apparently you were thinking quick enough so she wouldn't get hurt any more..." She said and smiled. She watched the clouds float by. "Oh! What does that one look like to you?" She asked and pointed to a cloud, giggling.
