It Lies in the Heart.

June's face was bright red. She stood up and went after Kelveras. She ran up behind him and hugged him from behind, trying hard to avoid his wound so that she wouldn't hurt him. "Kelveras, wait!" She said. "Please don't go..."

Kimiko thought. "Maybe she's in the courtyard... I haven't checked there yet, have you?" She asked. Natsuki... Please be here somewhere... She thought worriedly.

 

"June...." Kelveras said gently turning around, he looked into her eyes and slowly leaned forward lightly kissing her once, then embraced her, "its my duty princess.....I owe my life to you and my kingdom...."

"No I suppose it wouldn't be...." Lanern grinned and laughed a little, "but...I am the head knight...what would I look like if I said I didn't want to go?" he said reaching out and poking Natsuki, "then I would be pretty funny looking...."

 

Natsuki laughed a little, then looked at Lanern, "but Lanern, cant you just like... use second in command? im sick of this stupid war, if i was queen, i would stop this war completely." she said and pouted

Tadami set off for the garden, "i didnt look there either."

 

June held on to him tightly. "Kelveras..." She felt tears begin to form in her eyes. She didn't want him to go at all... But she knew he had to. However, June knew that she couldn't let him... Not in that condition. She felt herself begin to cry.

Kimiko hoped that Natsuki would be there and followed Tadami.

 

Kelveras pulled back a little and gently wiped June's tears, "June....I want to see you smile dear...." he said taking her hands, "just like when we used to play when we were little....just like when we first kissed.....I want my princess to be happy....." he said with a soft smile.

Lanern sighed, "wouldn't we all Natsuki...." he said looking over at her, "if only things were that simple....a deep rooted hatred and sense of greed corrupts the mind of some people...." he said starting to get up, "perhaps you could tell your father and mother how you feel about this war....they are the ones if anyone who can stop it with your help...."

 

"but, why dont the Oblivions want to have Peace? i KNOW there was a time when we didnt hate each other....." Natsuki asked, "do you know?"

Tadami walked into the garden and saw Natsuki with Lanern, he sighed in releaf,

 

June gently squeezed his hands as tears fell down her cheeks. He just wants me to be happy? She thought and wiped away the remaining tears on her cheeks. "I... Don't want to lose you, Kelveras..." She said.

Kimiko was relieved to see that Natsuki was okay. However, she didn't want to interrupt her conversation with Lanern, so she turned around and went back inside the castle. Geez... I was really worried about her, and here she is, at home... I'll need to talk to her later... Kimiko thought.

 

Kelveras continued to hold June close to him, "I know dear....I know....." he said thinking and gently rubbing her back, "June...." he said leaning back so he could look into her eyes, "I don't know if you ever knew this....but I love you...." he said with a soft smile, "I love you princess....."

Lanern became somewhat nervous, "well....to be truthfully so.....its because they don't want it...and not saying its bad....but I don't think too many people here want it...." he sighed, "its the fact that no one knows who really started the fighting long ago but they are willing to blame each other before anyone else....." he noticed Tadami, "good afternoon prince Tadami....I take it theres a good chance your looking for this princess right here..." he grinned tickling Natsuki.

 

Natsuki laughed, "h-hi Ta-adami-kun" she laughed

Tadami smiled, "ive been looking for you all day Natsuki."

 

June felt her cheeks turn a bit red. A smile suddenly crossed her lips. "Kelveras..." She paused and hugged him tightly. "I love you, too..." She said softly.

Kimiko headed to her room.

 

"I've dreamed of being by your side forever June...." Kelveras said hugging her close, "aways being with my princess....whom I love...." he said gently kissing her once, "I promise I will be back to you June....I promise you.....until I return....you have my heart....and it shall be yours forever...." he said gently standing up with her.

Lanern sighed and laughed, "I don't know what we will have to do with her your highness..." he said standing up, "perhaps make her a little dungeon cell of her own.....have her tickled three times a day.....sounds good to me...."

 

"no!" natsuki shouted,

Tadami laughed, "that is a good punishment,"

 

June stood up with him. She didn't want him to leave. She wanted to stay by his side forever, to. She thought about the fighting, and how much she really didn't want to lose him. Even though he said he would be back, was that a promise he could really keep? It was then that she came up with an idea. I know Mother may not approve, but I want to help... "Kelveras, let me fight with you and the other soilders..." She said.

Kimiko walked into her room and fell backwards onto her bed, looking at the ceiling. She smiled and yawned, stretching. What now? She wondered.

 

Kelveras was shocked at the request, "no June...." he said taking her hands, "I could never put you in that kind of situation....didn't you hear me....I love you dear....." he said, "I don't ever want to put you in a risk like that......"

Lanern sighed, "well....I was about to get ready to leave to bring reinforcements to our soldiers on the front prince Tadami.....I'm sure you will have things handled here....." he nodded, "with that I'll leave you two...." he said bowing and heading to the knight quarters.

 

"Kelveras, please... I want to help. I've had some experience in archery, and I know how to defend myself. And this way, I'll be able to be with you..." She said, gently squeezing his hands. "Please... I want to fight with you..."

Kimiko soon fell asleep.

 

Tadami nodded and bowed to him then looked at Natsuki and noticed how sad she looked

Natsuki looked down, "bye.... Lanern..."

 

"Only if we are together....if we are with each other..." Kelveras said with a small smile, "whatever happens from here on out....we are together....in everything we do...." he said leaning forward and gently kissing her, "I love you June....."

Lanern turned around to wave and saw Natsuki's expression, "I'm sorry....but I need to help our kingdom....I wish you could come....but I would never want you where I am about to go...." he sighed, "take care of her Tadami...I know you will......"

June kissed him back, smiling. "So you will let me fight with you?" She asked.

Kimiko slept soundly.
