It Lies in the Heart.

"Oh..." He muttered with a sigh as he layed back in the seat and boredley closed his eyes,

 

"Thats something I can't do though...." Kelveras said looking up and into her eyes, "I have a duty to this kingdom and you...." he said gently touching her cheek, "I felt happiness when you smiled June....its given me hope that perhaps days could return to the old ways...." he said gently taking her hand.

Lanern and his soldiers entered the courtyard, "alright soldiers....put your horses away....rest of the day is yours to relax..." he sighed getting off his horse and tieing it up, he walked into a small tavern and sat down at the bar, "small glass of rum please...." he said resting his face in his hands.

 

Natsuki saw him arive and smiled a little, then went home, sneaking around Tadami and Kimiko and entering the castle before coming into the garden, smelling some of the roses,

Tadami sighed, "maybe she went back home to the castle."

 

Vaj sighed deeply she closed her eyes and put her head back, soon to fall asleep

Li watched the nearing docks closely, he yawned then stood up and waited

 

*Fayte opened his eyes as he noticed Li stand up*
"What an interesting day..." He thought to hismelf cheerfully as he glanced down at Vaj and smiled.

 

"Good point," Kimiko said. "Let's go check back at home."

June held his hand tightly. "But just because you have a duty to me and the kingdom doesn't mean you need to push yourself this far. There are other knights who can protect this kingdom. I don't want you hurting yourself more than you already are... If I have to, I'll take your place. But please, just rest for awhile."

 

"I could never let you take my place princess....I would never wish anything bad upon you June...." Kelveras said heading back into his room with her, he slowly got back on the bed and laid down, "I'm the head knight captain of Oblivion....I can't just lie around though....." he said giving her hand a gentle squeeze.

Lanern left the tavern and headed once again back to the castle garden to relax, "it seems like this is the only place I can come to for solitude...." he sighed closing his eyes and lying down in the grass, "the birds....the gentle breeze.....the rustle of the grass...."

 

Li picked up Vaj in a piggyback once the fairy stopped at the dock, he stepped off and started to walk home

Vaj was still asleep

 

Natsuki saw Lanern and left her cloak next to the rose bush and jumped over to him, "hi Lanern!" she said and smiled widely with her eyes closed, "watcha up to?"

Tadami sighed as they started to head back to the castle

 

"You don't need to worry so much..." June said. "Both kingdoms are somewhat at peace for now... And it's best if you just take it easy..." She looked out the window. As she watched the rain fall, thoughts began to flood her mind. She remembered battles fought long ago, wars that occured beforehand. She closed her eyes. "Kelveras... Have you ever wondered why there's war?" June asked and looked at him. "It's nothing more than fighting... and it doesn't really help anything... Is there a reasoning behind it?"

Once they arrived back at the castle, Kimiko started to look around, thinking of some places she might be in the castle.

 

Kelveras leaned up the best he could and sat next to June, "I will always worry about you princess...as I've said its my duty..." he said with a gentle smile and lightly kissed her cheek before returning to staring out the window, "this war....the stories....I've heard have gone on for ages....all because of this heart....the power it holds....and the greed in mens hearts that lead them to it....."

Lanern sat up quickly and opened his eyes looking around before spotting Natsuki, he sighed and smiled, "So its you princess.....just relaxing....." he said, "if you would like...I would be overjoyed to have your company...."

 

Natsuki smiled and sat next to Lanern, "of course!"

Tadami looked in her room and closed the door when he didnt find her there, he huffed and continued to look

 

June scowled. "This heart... What powers could it possibly hold that make people want it so badly?" She said and shook her head. "It's not worth losing so many lives over..."

Kimiko looked up and down the hallways. "Natsuki!" She called, looking around. Still no luck... She thought and sighed.

 

Kelveras noticed June's mood had changed, "I miss my princess's smile....a true joy that used to show itself...." he said turning to her and looking her in the eyes, "June....may I help remove some of your sadness my princess......." he said leaning a little bit closer.

Lanern sighed. "I wish I could be happy like you princess...." he said looking into the sky, "but I don't think its possible for me to be.....the frontlines near the heart require more soldiers....which means I'll be heading down there soon....."

 

Li set Vaj in her bed and closed the door as he left, he ignored his mothers harsh words not to stay out so late and went too bed

Vaj opened her eyes and giggled, she tricked Li into carring her home. She yawned and giggled once more befores he actually fell asleep

 

*Fayte let out a sigh as he walked into the garden*
"Some adventure..." He thought to himself with a sigh as he looked up at the moon.

 

Natsuki frowned, "i dont want you to go!" she said, " you need to stay here! why do you need to fight for a stupid heart anyways?! does anyone actually know what it does?"

Tadami sighed

 

June could feel herself getting a little nervous when Kelveras leaned closer to her.

Kimiko ran into Tadami. "I'm guessing you haven't found her yet?" Kimiko asked and sighed.

 

Kelveras noticed her expression and backed off a little, "actually....I should probably be heading down to the knights quarters.....after all....what kind of role model am I if I let a wound like this stop me...." he sighed forcing himself up, "please take care June...." he said giving her hand one more gentle squeeze and headed out the door slowly.


Lanern smiled and sat up, "why would I be needed here?" he asked curious to hear her reply, "I know you don't want me to go Natsuki...and trust me I would rather be here with you, your mother, the king, your sister and brother......but I am needed there as well....."

 

Natsuki looked away, "you can get someone else to go..." she said, "it wouldnt be fun if you got hurt....." she muttered,

Tadami shook his head, "no,"
